This is what's frustrating, when we went 2-0 up you didn't see Leicester panic, they controlled themselves and got a quick goal back. When they went 3-1 down, again they didn't panic. Yes they got a dodgy penalty, but our attitude after that was very worrying, not just from the defence but from every single player in the team. It's like someone hit the big red panic button.

It's impossible to play against a team that's allowed to do whatever the hell they want to you and go unpunished. Players realize when that's the case and use it to their advantage. Then they got a rubbish penalty which caused the team's already somewhat tenuous concentration to lapse, leading to a subsequent goal, and then the whole thing collapsed. A lot of our players had a bad day, but we would have won handily if that incompetent homer of a ref had correctly sent off De Laet and we'd been up 3-1 against ten men. Instead Leicester were allowed to continue to be thuggish and break the rules every 30 seconds in order to completely disrupt the game for us which, combined with a few bad performances and a still ungelled team, gave us a loss instead of what would, with correct refereeing, have been a comfortable win.

I saw he got man of the match - he went down like a sack of cheating shit & the ref couldn't wait to take centre stage & gift him a penalty - if thats the kind of play that supporters wish to applaud then ok, but it merely encourages the despicable behaviour of the Youngs & Maradonas & IMO that type of football belongs in the gutter. I don't agree. I think the thing that's holding us back is that the players have not yet learned to play together as a team. They're mostly brand new, playing under a new manager who's getting to grips with the English game. Add a bunch of injuries to key players into the mix, and today is what you get.

It's the same way in the papers and on the talk radio. The discussion of a title challenge after our sole victory of the season was obviously foolish and Liverpoolesque, just like an overreaction to today's result would be foolish.

We had many positives today and many adjustments to new players are still needed. I enjoyed most of the match and the game was entertaining, even if it was perversely painful for the last 30 minutes. Injuries and defensive cover remain persistent problems. I am disappointed we were not able to make the needed adjustments to tighten up the game.

I would agree with that in the Moyes era, but too soon to say that now. I actually feel we played resonably well most of the game, as well as against QPR when people raved about us. As they say though goals change games, the first goal, at the time it looekd to me like the ball went out and am yet to see a conclusive video shot but it still looked that way to me. At 3-1 I thought we may go on to dominate the match then was THAT penalty.....atrocious decision, was a foul from Varney and a dive with the admittedly foolish retribution from Rafael.
It is too early to judge our defence as for me our best back four are yet to play: Rafael, Jones, Rojo and Shaw, What the match did highlight though is a real lack of genuine consistant quality in our back four. Rafael is a talented full back but only one season (Fergies last) has he eradicated over exuberance and naivety, Evans yet again gets injured and even before doing so looked nothin gmore than he ever has to me...a fourth choice centre back. i have now made my mind up personally on Smalling...a great athlete and strong but he just doesnt have the intelligence, concentration or discipline at the moment to be a top class centre back, and i never think he will have. Blackett I actually thought did well, his best game for us....but he is young and you gnplayers make mistakes, as he did for one of the goals. We basically for me have too many injury prone, inconsistant defenders and none of them are top quality. Can we finish in the top four, possibly. People talkign about us winning the league the last few days.....not a chance withour defence. We are like Keegans Newcastle, be exciting and frustrating to watch, we CAN make the top four though, and that would be enough for me this eyar if it happens

Yeah I can't abide that 'Vardy was great' nonsense. He was ultra aggressive (and allowed to be) and he blatantly dived. It's a shame for the game that that is what is celebrated.

No doubt it was a terrible decision from Clattenburg at a time when the game was won. I am a bit frustrated with Rafael though that he even gave him the chance to make it. But in this instance, I can see why he was annoyed. What followed the penalty was awful.

The attacking side of things looks fine. We look dynamic and a threat. I think the midfield and attack is pretty much fixed for the rest of the season bar injury, even after the return of Carrick. The six who played today, will be the chosen six for me.

I suppose Rojo will move inside next week to partner Smalling with Evans probably out and Blackett suspended. Shaw comes in for a debut at left back. It has to be said though, what I've seen so far from Evans and Smalling (I've left Blackett out of the equation as a youngster) does not fill me with any confidence they can step up from squad player to leader of the defence.

I was sort of hoping that after the QPR game, teams would be concerned about our attacking threat. LCFC didn't seem to be bothered about the attacking threat as they were confident of exploiting our weakness at the back. If Rojo had done his job, they would not have got the first, though it did look as though the ball had gone out before it was crossed. That just gave them more belief they could always come back if we got a goal. We needed to keep the clean sheet. How the team fell apart after the second was worrying.

Now West Ham are just going to go for it, probably try and kick Di Maria off the park and attack our backs. We need to win convincingly preferably with a clean sheet.
