Let's all Laugh at England

I have to say, I find it very strange that people support a team in a country that they have probably never even been to, let alone gone and actually watched said team in the flesh. How much fun can it actually be from behind your keyboards?

Thankfully the vast majority of UK based Utd fans support their country, and the boys have done us proud tonight.

All of our players can hold their heads high, everyone who plays for City, Liverpool, Spurs and Utd et al well done. Gutted for us, but they have given us an identity and performed admirably.

Found a brexiter here.

Can’t belive how much fun people are having with England losing.
So brave from Southgate's Lions. Gallantly defeating Tunisia, Panama and Sweden, while drawing against Colombia and losing to Belgium and Croatia. These Premier League multimillionaires really have gone above and beyond any possible expectations. Is it home yet?
most of these players have payed/climbed through the football league. Hardly the pampered pre-Madonna’s you’re making them out to be.

Reaching Semi is an achievement itself. Not to be laugh at. Well done England. Also good to see some of my English friends falling in love all over again with the team.

Amazing how many people are taking this thread seriously (and I mean the ones actually laughing).

For the record, it's a joke thread made because of how unnecessary the Portugal one was.

Hahaha. Mediocre team at best. Kane gonna invisible again. Couldn't beat a Croatia team that played 2 back to back matches going to 30 extra minutes each.

Well done Croatia. Had more energy than us after halftime and onwards. Even after all their extra times. Amazingly effort. Good luck in the final, although I'll be supporting France, as I want to see Pogba do well.

It's not coming home but I'm still really proud of the team. We were totally unfancied before the tournament but came up with an effective style of play that got us to the semis. Restored pride in the national team and briefly united a very divided country.

Trippier my player of the tournament for England. Southgate deserves to keep the project going, in four years who knows what will happen!

Denmark made it more difficult for Croatia, created more chances than England.

England of the recent past would have drawn with Tunisia, scraped past Panama, and lost to Colombia. So that's something there.

However, relying on hoofball and pace will only take the team so far, and it showed today (and against Belgium B) against marginally better opposition. Hopefully they aren't deceived by their 'easy' run this WC and kick on from here.
Much to improve on, if that's possible. It's a young team but they need more tactical nous. Don't think Southgate is the one for that but look at how long Hodgson stayed.

Out the EU, now out the World Cup. Well done lads.

Could not beat a team that slugged their way out of 3 attritional games with extra time and penalties.

They were out on their feet in the first half. How could they not beat a team with fecking Lovern in it??

How the feck is Lovern anywhere near a WC final. He was utter white today as well could only foul.

You stand shoulder to shoulder with United fans on the terraces and then take the first available opportunity to turn and gloat in their faces.

It’s just odd.
Mate they definitely spend no time on the terraces, they're all MUTV Warriors.

Well yeah, but as much as I have disliked England's NT for pretty much all my life, this team was likeable (bar Hurry Kane who thought that he has become a GOAT or whatever). Southgate is the most likeable manager from all managers of big teams.

I mean, I would have been unbearable if they had lost against Colombia in the penalties. Likely half of forum would have put me on ignore, but losing on semi against Croatia - which a lot of people were mentioning as the main favorite after group stage - is still respectable.
You don't mind Dele "Muhammad" Alli?

Firstly, :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Personally, if the spine of the England team was United players, it would be difficult to rejoice at England's exit. But Rashford was benching, Lingard was decent but not the star and Young was well okay. Hoping Pogba bosses the final and makes English pundits eat humble pie for all the grief they've given him.

Then why care about England? Why watch them? Why take to a United forum to post a petty emoji?

Though I appreciate I can’t see it from a supporter of another home nation.

Harry Kane will end up as the worst player ever to being topscorer in a World Cup. He played one good game - and then he went completely into hiding until there was a penalty to be taken or the ball hit him by accident.

Bollocks we had plenty of chances, it’s not Southgate’s fault Kane and Lingard didn’t hit the target.
i might be blind but there was visible pull back in the second half. Pretty sure the statistics are right though. One host on target.

You don't mind Dele "Muhammad" Alli?
Yeah, he is a cnut too. And while Henderson is alright, he's a cnut for being Liverpool's captain. It is still much better than when half the team were dickheads though.

Ha ha! You do know that's "prima donna," right? Nothing to do with a time before the early eighties when Madonna was unknown.

Jeez some in here taking it to heart

When all the gloating was going on, that was ok, now they can’t take the stick. It’s the snowflake generation, I’m telling you.

No laughing from me.
A young, inexperienced at international level England team came up against an older, more experienced Croatia team. If they can, they shouldn't dwell on it because this has been a very good World Cup for England.
Going forward, I don't know whether England can afford to play Sterling, Alli and Lingard when there is so little end result from them. I wonder about Kane's overall fitness at this tournament.
But there is the nucleus of a good team there and, for once after a tournament has finished, you feel they have the right man in charge in Southgate. If I was an England fan, when the dust settles, I'd be feeling optimistic and looking forward to the future and the Euros.

Kane poor, absolutely anonymous, the whole England team looked out on their feet after 60 minutes. Southgate should have made changes earlier in every game to keep things fresh.

Before the World Cup you would take it. It's a young team so the experience will help no end come 2022 when they should peak as a team.

On balance, Croatia deserved the win and showed they were the better, more accomplished and mature side.
