Let's all Laugh at England

go on then

post it again and accept the position of Red Cafe Moron of the year 2018

go on...bring it home lol

You really have a special kind of deep-seated hatred for the British national anthem, don't you? Or maybe your hatred extends beyond the national anthem itself, and what you actually hate is what it represents. Quite sad really.

Go and have a lie down, lad.

Not sure where to put this post. I feel though without pressure this tournament and we were flying. Unfortunately that pressure was quickly put back on us this semi final and in a way we bottled it at 1-0.

Ah well. A fun ride. Don’t think we will come this close again for a long time.

Truth. That summed up England's second half display; they completely lost their composure as soon as Croatia decided to turn up. Wanted England to win but as a relative neutral, it was actually quite funny to see how a team that was in complete control of proceedings could let it slip the way they did.

Fair play to England... the players, management, fans, banter...

Heroes.

Other countries can only look with envy at the enthusiasm and support (and scale of it) that England offers a World Cup.

Was fairly impartial at the start, was cheering on Lingard and all the United players when they played, but as the tournament progressed, the commentary/punditry really wore me down (ITV being slightly worse than BBC), so completely biased, to the point of delusion. By the time Mandzukic scored I let a roar of relief out.

The "football's coming home" stuff has been hilarious, been sending and receiving stuff from my English mates and it's been really good fun, noticed after the Sweden game that they started to get a bit arsey. Being really cocky and arrogant with my Belgian mates when they got knocked out.

The England team were well drilled, but fairly unspectacular. They played pretty much to their potential, no more no less.
Haha. What utter bollox, are you Irish by chance ? cnut

Could be worse. We could all be German.

What a true disaster that was

Yeah.. being the previous World Cup Winner is worse.

You lot have just been to the semi finals after 28 years  Germany is used to going to finals and semi finals for years.

Nice inferiority complex you got there. Got destroyed by a tired ass Croatia team that played 2 120 minute games before that.

England fans...

Don’t fall for the bait from the haters.

They have nothing.

Unless, of course, they are French or Croatian. And even then...

Yeah, I think it is an awful song which while started as a joke 20 years ago, this time kind of became annoying and the more progress England was making, the more serious it became (for both sides).

Still better than God save the precious Queen though.
It's a good song. Self deprecating when you listen to more than just the chorus too.

And it is a million times better than god save the queen.

You're forgetting the Belgians. They might have lost a semi-final but they beat ye first.

Well, we still think of deep midfielders in this country as grafters, destroyers, rather than creative, ball-carrying passers. We left the likes of Cook, Shelvey and Wilshere, who could control and pass from deep, at home, in favour of the traditional mould of grit and determination. All in all, Vrsalko is right. When pressed, revert to type.

I don't wanna know what was said to the England team at half time, but it sure as hell made each and everyone of them retreat to their respective shells. It could also be that they just panicked knowing how close they were of reaching the final. Either way, how they capitulated was quite a baffling sight.

Nobody looks at England with any envy matey!!

And to all United fans, and to fans of all other English clubs, who aren't from England, and to all posters in this Irish forum who don't support England, you are not true United fans, or true fans of other English clubs, or just true fans of Irish forums, if you don't support England.

  :lol:  :lol:

You're going home, you're going home

Wilshire is absolute crap and so is Shelvey

I do like cook tho he is decent player I think but will never get call up as you would have to drop someone like sterling lingard or alli

Perception is Alli was terrible but English fans were expecting him to create where that is simply not his role he plays week in week out

I'm so angry that non english folk are laughing at England for losing tonight. We are on a Manchester United forum. You should all be behind the boys. MUFC are a football club based in Old Trafford which is geographically situated in England. Hang your heads in shame. You lot aren't United fans unless you possess a framed picture of Southgate, in a waistcoat, standing beneath the Wembley Arch.

Seriously though I'm gutted that we're out but I never believed we were good enough to win it anyway. It was always going to end like this.

Props to Southgate and the squad though. They've done more than anyone would've expected.

:wenger::lol:

Why does it matter?

You’ve said nobody looks at England with any envy - potential true of course, but let’s find out the country of origin this statement comes from?

Clearly there are lots of countries in the world that would love to reach the semi finals of the World Cup?

I have to say, I find it very strange that people support a team in a country that they have probably never even been to, let alone gone and actually watched said team in the flesh. How much fun can it actually be from behind your keyboards?

Where you are born and/or where you live doesn’t matter when supporting a sports team. We are in the Information Age when the world is accesible at the palm of everyone.

In Colombia’s case, our league is full of mediocre pub teams that play a boring outdated football. Comparing it to the premiership will be like comparing Beluga with a bad hot dog.

I was lucky, because I lived in England in 1999 while my father held a diplomatic position and fell in love with United. I’m also lucky because I can travel every year to the stayed for pre season, and 1,5-2 year I visit Old Trafford. But what about people who like the team and support it, but can’t go to pre season or to a match at Old Trafford? They can’t support the team because they aren’t English or aren’t wealthy enough to travel to matches? That xenophobic and classist!
