Lille v Man Utd

Do you think Fergie will go for O'Shea as a DM tonight? He played Josh against Benfica away and I thought he did very well in that game.
But I really hope for Carrick-Scholes and 4-4-2.
 
Hopefully a 4-4-2. Non of this 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 formations. We're Manchester United and we play our best when we play FOUR FOUR TWO. The players we have suit a 4-4-2 and by in large its what we've played all season.

I'm sure we'll get a performance from the lads tonight. :devil:
 
Exactly play our best team home or away and attack like we have done most the season,what is the point keeping the game close and then giving the opposition the chance to win.The benfica game when we switched after the break and arsenal for e.g we look so much better and fluid when we have rooney up top or just dropping off.In two games home and away and 180 mins football we should back ourselves to beat most teams especially lille anything else is suicide.
 
Fergies on about being cautios in the away leg and I guess you could reason that it might put us at a disadvantage if we end up chasing a result in the home leg, but as the away leg is first you could also reason that risks should be taken now if at any time and if we do get a good 2 or 3 goal lead we can rest bodies in the second leg.

yep i take the caution into consideration but also have the view that were more likely to keep the game close and lose 1-0 ,2-1 and thus give lille the chance to score away goals and maybe sneak a win overall.Id rather we went at them and even if we lost 3-2 drew 2-2 wed be in a much stronger position.Its all hypothetical of course as if we get an early goal playing catious it'll end up us getting more chances anyway if they attack us more.Lol im going scenario mad cant wait for the match.
 
I pretty much have a feeling that tonight's match could be vital to our campaign in the champions league this season. Although failing to get a good result tonight won't mean anything as far as I'm concerned, as lille will still have to come to Old Trafford where they will get good spanking, I believe that a solid win tonight with a clean sheet will give us all the confidence we need to go firing on all cylinders in the next stages. COME ON UNITED :devil:

IMO they were since i rate Ronaldo as a better striker than Morientes (as would anyone with a sliver of a brain) - the simple fact is that even with Morientes they DID NOT PLAY 4-4-2 and have never in recent times played that formation - this is indisputable it isnt opinion.

Anyway this isnt about Morientes or Madrid specifically this is about your foolish belief in using 4-4-2 in the ECL all the time and me pointing out that teams that play 4-4-2 very very rarely win the competition.

Now if you have any concrete evidence to dispute this fact, rather than than desperately squirming and going off in tangents hoping to avoid the real crux of the matter than gladly furnish me with the facts. If you are indeed talking shite (which is strongly suspect) then kindly suck my balls and feck off!!

But seen as I can only think of 1 team in the last 10 years that has won with 4-4-2 I dont fancy your chances..... BY ALL MEANS TRY THO....

If we play with the 4-5-1 formation I think this will be a low scoring and dull match. I think that formation is too conservative for playing Lille and we should try to bloody them up with some attacking football from the 4-4-2 and treat them like any other club. Whenever United plays it safe it seems to spell disaster. This match is not televised here so it will be off to the pub for this one on satellite. Enjoy the match where ever you take it in!

Stop avoiding the issue - Madrid have never played 4-4-2 and in the past 10 yrs only one club has won the ECL playing that system.....

I'd have preferred Ole to Fletcher, and Gaby to Silvestre.
 
Thats a good formation. I would of expected Saha to start but Larsson will definately do a job for us.

I don't think so.

If Fergie wanted to put out a 4-5-1 team, he would opt for O'Shea rather than Giggs in the middle, we will go with 4-4-2 formation.

Or at least I'm under impression that every team we have ever faced in Champions League has the same opinion among United fans.
