This is very confusing...do you agree or disagree? Barca are still on course for the double. Despite the popular opinion, Barca have been fairly shite this season, it's been the greatness of Messi and some of his out of this world performances that has put them in a position to succeed. Xavi and Iniesta have been rather poor judging by their standards, whereas Ibrahimovic has been utterly wank.

As for Madrid, they keep battering shit teams, but they falter as soon as they face a half decent squad (see Lyon). El Classico is gonna be quite something this year I think.

I don't think that this season for Messi is any better than the last one to be fair. To say that he's having a better season than Ronaldinho, Ronaldo or Zidane ever had is pushing it.

As for the match coming up in three weeks, I think that Madrid will win it.

That's such nonsense. Messi didn't head clear all of Zaragoza's corners and set pieces and he didn't boss their midfield. They've played a little poorly a over the last two months and Messi's scored to get them through it but overall I think they've actually been a better all round team over the course of the season. Messi's form coincides with Ibra being in the side usually as he's very unselfish, he uses him as decoy much more than he could with Eto'o. Pedro's excellent as well much better than Henry has ever been for them. I think you're reading far too much into the fact Messi's just been in the right place at the right time an unreal amount of times this season, it's like God controls the football to him sometimes.

The front three of Henry, Messi and Eto'o stopped working around last March, they didn't just break it up for no reason. Eto'o only scored about 5 goals after Christmas last year. He's was an epic cock and vastly overrated by people who only watched him against English teams in CL, the same thing has happend with Iniesta this season were people have expected too much from him because United couldn't defend against him the CL final. Ibra's easily ten times the player he was. Nothing seems to be falling for him right atm, both those misses tonight were caused the pass not being quite right. He's also scored in every game Barca behind this season I think in all comps except the Almeria game were he was sent off for no reason and he'll finish the season with more than 20 goals and 10 assists.

I'm glad you're back.

The more I see of Sergio Busquets, the more I like him. His reading of the game is amazing for one so young. Very similar to a United player I admire - you can probably guess who that is. :)

Messi is just unbelievable. I have to admit it. Though to be fair, the standard of La Liga's defending is very, very poor.

Where is that thread started by Spoonez about donating our testicles to bring Messi to OT

Busquets? No thanks, bigger diver than juan, drogba and puyol combined, and that's no small feat.

This guy is easily the best in the world right now, no doubt about that, but my goodness some of wankfest here is really embarrassing. It's one thing to admit that he's the best and enjoy watching him play but it's another to drool all over him whenever he plays well.

EDIT: That being said, that goal was excellent :p

His other two goals were pretty good as well. Especially the third. Makes everything look so easy.

Hope our defence are doing their homework on Messi from know on. Stick Park on him :)

Bow down to the bukkake!

He's just out of this world.

we heard that a lot last year, before they beat us 2-0

and if la liga's defending is so poor, how come players like RVN -that excelled in the Premier- didn¡t make it while Torres made it in the PL?

don't be naive

Well the only reason threads like this exist is because some are still of the opinion that Rooney or Ronaldo are the best. Although it seems that in the past couple of weeks, people have begun to see the light of day.

There's no denying that he is out of this world, but that doesn't mean that people have to drool uncontrollably all over him like some are doing on here. Just enjoy watching him play, he is amazing, but no need for the wankfest.

Rooney is no where near Messi when the latter plays like this. However, I think the magic of Rooney is slowly coming back and he will be able to compete better in the future. Take for example, his lobbed effort today, and imagine the reaction if it had gone in -- people would be comparing him to Messi, and rightly so. Also, near the end when he took 3 defenders on but scuffed his shot wide. Had Rooney finished properly, I'd say that goal would be very similar to Messi's.

Hmmm. I don't want to piss on your chips Marcos, but we didn't show up that night apart from the first 10 minutes. But yes, both of their goals were feck ups on our part, and they did play very well defensively. How you make a conclusion that Spanish defending in general is great off a single one off match though I'll never know.

As for RVN, we sold him for what? Why did we do that again? Torres was a star in a shower of shite.

So who's being naive here?

His dribbling for the penalty is ......leaving me speechless. It's even better than the 2nd goal!!

No actually they are both a joy to watch

or may be the 2nd is better ??

feck it

Should they meet, I can see Park being sacrificied on Xavi.

He's developing nicely and reminds me of Guardiola the player. Remains a little rough round the edges in the bigger matches.

Actually people Must drool uncontrollably when watching such dribbling skills. I've never seen anyone dribble like that or even close. Never. God bless

Mind you he might win nothing this year. Barcelona are out of form currently and the world cup is, well a world cup.

Maybe, but he is a tidy little player. It must help when you're playing alongside and learning from Xavi and Iniesta though, to be fair.
I rate him. No real surprise he's a fixture in the Spain squad these days.

i'm not saying that spanish defending is great, i'm just saying is not as shit as some caftards seem to think

and btw, don't forget that that night barcelona played with a very weak defense, thay couldnt play with Eric Abidal (suspended), Danny Alves (suspended) or Rafael Marquez (knacked)

Why are you comparing a centre forward to someone that is essentially a wing player? The comparisons of Ronaldo to Rooney was retarded enough, and now your are comparing Messi to Rooney? The apple in my right hand doesn't quite look the same as the pear in my left.
So then we shouldn't have a best player in the world award because it compares players of different positions, right? When you are dealing with the best players in the world, it is inevitable that players of different positions be compared.

Our old reject did well though on the night eh?

We were shite that night. Let's just hope that we get the chance to exact our revenge this year! ;)

Ibra's definitely helped Messi's game. His form this is season is much more sumptuous than last, he had a nice spell like this when Henry played as a striker a few years ago. I think it because they used movement to drag defenders away from the middle giving Messi shit loads of space to run into towards goal. He seems to beat more players than ever when it looked at the start of the season his dribbling days might be numbered like another number 10 than once played for Barca until he got fat. Actually remember a few on here a while back saying he looked rubbish this year.

i think they have the better player but that we have the better team

in fact, if you had the chance of watching barcelona's last games you'll realize is all about messi

i think we have a lot more chances to beat them this year if we meet them in the final game

more than the ones we had last year

heard it here first

Are you trying to crack Eto'o didn't use movement to pull defenders about the place?

This season is Messi's 07/08, last season was his 06/07. I don't think he's been better this season, at all.
