Do you really think those players will come to sit on the bench?

Liverpool need to strengthen their shoddy defence as a priority in the summer.

There will be plenty of minutes to go around, with European football next year. Can started 21 games. Origi started 10 games. Leiva started 9 games. Sturridge started 5 games. Factor in at least 8-10 extra European games, and a chance to rotate in Dec./Jan. to prevent the fatigue trap. Everybody in midfield&attack can easily get to 20 starts without factoring in a major injury. Liverpool needs more depth. They have one midfield back-up in Can for three positions (Lallana/Wijnaldum/Henderson) and again one attacking back-up in Origi for three positions (Coutinho/Firmino/Mane). I´d say the rest of the top 6 has much better bench depth all around. To me Liverpool´s defensive issues are more complex than the individual class of the defenders or how do you explain that they can protect a lead against all the top 7 teams, but they always invite pressure and cannot against all the smaller teams.
