Liverpool vs. Man United

It's looking like Moyes is more scared of losing any of these games at the start than anything. It's depressing when I was hoping for a fresh start, but understandable I guess.

We should still be too strong for these mid-table bunch.

Every year at Anfield, Beserker-Liverpool buzz around us like blue-arsed flies & panic us into mistakes; if we avoid that this time, I'll be very happy.

Against Chelsea, Young showed more bollocks going forward in 5 minutes than Valencia did all game. He looked in good shape.

Agreed.

We actually have threats going forward on the wings today and people are moaning!

Our front four is underwhelming. Rooney's injury came at the worst possible time.

I love Giggs, he's still an excellent player but he shouldn't be starting games like this anymore.

I'm not sure what Moyes is trying to do with that front 4... whether he is really going to attack Liverpool or sit back and defend. To me it seems like he is stuck in two minds and doing neither.

For people actually expecting Moyes to name an attacking side and dominate Liverpool - we haven't done that in 10 odd years.

Couldn't disagree more; Valencia had quite a lot of joy against Cole last week. He just lacked the final ball.

Agree. His decision making / final ball was a little disappointing but he was always a danger on the right and provided pace

Souness has mellowed out so much, so sound and one of the best on sky these days.

Really disappointed with these teams being put out.

I always thought Moyes' biggest challenge would be managing squad rotation. He has such a big squad now and he's not used to that. He has to keep all the players fit and ready to come in and happy too. He's made the right amount of changes today imo. Young looked bright in his cameo against Chelsea.
I'm optimistic.

I think young is a fair shout, personally not so sure on giggs over Valencia. I thought giggs starting/playing in the other games made sense with the options available but I think for this game where we know Liverpool will be fired up and play at a high tempo it would be good to have two fast wingers in there especially as they're both very good defensively. Will have to see how it goes.

Brenda will speak after the break on Sky.....

It is a bit. Even just putting Kagawa in there gives us a bit more threat. I don't know if he's injured or just not fit enough, but I'd feel a whole lot more confident if we had Kagawa for Giggs in that lineup.

Carragher says that Fellaini isn't a United level midfielder. I'd tend to agree with him.

Slightly confused how Ashley Young puts 1 cross in to the box on Monday and that's enough to justify starting him ahead of a wraft of clearly more talented players who can't exactly be any less match fit?

FFS they are putting the boot in to Welbeck

We've got enough United fans who do that.

Love CarraLogic- Cristiano Ronaldo scores goals from the left wing, why can't Welbeck!

Perhaps Ronaldo is one of the best players of all time, playing in his prime, in a team that is set up to get the best out of him, while Welbeck is a young prospect playing a supporting role.

Also, how fecking bad does Jones have to play at fullback before we'll stop playing him there? He will cost us a game at some point.

Anderson in for Giggs and that would have been as good as we could have put out today.

True. We have a huge squad and you can't play the same players every week even if they performed reasonably well sometimes.

It's still early I know, but I have feeling that Moyes doesn't like to play Kagawa.
