Liverpool vs. Manchester United

Nani took a knock and the verdict on Jones was that it's a twisted ankle and not serious. Anderson is also only carrying a knock and is probably going to be fit for this game. The thought of us playing for a draw is just alien to me, I can't understand why you would want to go out with the full intention to draw against a mid-table team. I don't care where it is or whether you think Anfield is a bogey ground for us, we should be putting out a team that is capable of winning the match and that is exactly what Ferguson will do, not some disjointed 4-5-1 with Berbatov as the lone frontman and Welbeck, our on form striker, out of position.

Funny that because that's exactly what Fergie did do the last time we played there

I saw how we lined up and I don't expect much difference but you've even fecking put DDG in goal despite the fact that it's being reported (and confirmed) that DDG needs an operation on his eyes. Then you go on to say that our key players should be left out because of potential injury? Silly argument when DDG is being left out in the league for the same reason.

So you believe that the reason De Gea isn't in the team at the moment is because he needs laser eye surgery, something the club has been fully aware of all season? :wenger:

In case people need reminding this is how we lined up against Liverpool the last time we played them at Anfield back in October;

---------------De Gea---------------
Smalling--Ferdinand--Evans--Evra
Park--Fletcher--Jones--Giggs--Young
---------------Welbeck---------------

Subs: Lindegaard, Carrick, Anderson, Valencia, Nani, Rooney, Hernandez

Fergie said after the game the intention was to not get overrun in midfield and then in the last 30 minutes bring on the likes of Rooney, Nani and Hernandez.

Fergie has also confirmed that Jones will miss the game just FYI

what  play to get beat or draw are you mental :nono:

I never said play for a draw or a defeat, that's simply my prediction for the game. I can't see us winning there. The tactics though should be the same as they were for the league game which for the most part worked well

----------------Lindegaard---------------
Rafael------Smalling-----Evans-------Evra
Valencia----Carrick------Giggs--------Nani
------------Rooney-----Welbeck---------

More than possible out ijured for this one.

:lol:This is a weird game because Liverpool are shit however against us they pull out the rafa shrines and they turn into the biggest game raising cnuts.

7 draws at home this year? Don't see why we can't do em over there. I'm going

Its a huge rivalry, any of Leeds, Liverpool, City can beat us on the day regardless of form or their fortunes. On paper we're streets ahead of Liverpool and they're like nearly 20 points behind us but it means nothing for this. Its war.+

Every time I see that video of Gerrard kissing the camera I get a primal urge to punch my monitor like this guy

Same. Just look at the Giggs 'spot the difference' one and you'll feel better. Six points and a mug or the Premier league trophy? Hmmmm......

I think he'll have a different thought in mind considering this is a cup fixture.

Possibly however given that there's the option of bringing them back to OT for a replay it wouldn't be the end of the world if we drew the game

we will win 1-3.

Evra will score.

Liverpool will have a player sent off.

Liverpool fans will unequivocally confirm beyond any doubt to a global audience their views on race.

These are my predictions.

I just hope our black players are ok there and the game is trouble free. After Oldham, Kenny's antics and the behaviour of some of the fans in recent weeks, it's not going to be a safe couple of hours

If it weren't for the fact that we'll probably be without Jones & Ferdinand already I reckon Fergie would of gave Evra the day off for this one.

I can't help but feel our squad is too obliterated by injuries to win this. Hopefully players with knocks and strains are fit by the weekend..

No Jones for sure. If Carrick doesn't make it we're fecked. We can make do without Nani and Rooney. Giggs and Scholes in midfield anyone? :nervous:

??
Andow could be back for this too.

Lindegaard

Smalling
Ferdinand
Evans
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Anderson
Park
Nani

Rooney

SUBS: de Gea, Fabio, Rafael, Scholes, Giggs, Hernandez, Welbeck.

On the basis that Ferdinand, Anderson and Rooney are fit I suppose.

My apologies , read it again and I got it wrong.

I've been offered a ticket for the Lpool game but in the the lpool end.....:annoyed: I don't think I'll take it.

Liverpool 1-0 United
Gerrard (pen)

Can we wear our blue kit for this? I hate that white kit!

We did? Oh that's right - remember those video of Evra v Suarse

Could be either, we wore that horrible white one there last season, neither would clash.

I guess De Gea will be getting the cup games while Lindegaard is getting the EPL matches. Chicharito should also probably get a game.

De Gea
Rafael Smalling Evans Evra
Scholes Carrick
Valencia Rooney Nani
Chicharito

Think Carrick, Rooney and possible Nani will be saved for the Stoke game, even if they're fit to play.

I wouldn't start scholes for this one. It's exactly the sort of game he'll struggle in. Liverpool will get in our faces and play high pace, trying to get the crowd going as we've seen before. We've got tough games coming up but I think we should go for as strong as we can go. We've got a real chance of winning the cup now if we knock out liverpool with city already gone. Stoke is a tough game but at home it shouldn't be so bad. Though it all depends on what the injury situation turns out to be. If carrick and jones are both fit I reckon they'll start in the middle. Probably the same if Ando is fit.

0-2

more bothered about how many injuries we'll come back with - Carragher will have a field day with Atkinson in charge

Smalling is our best center back. He needs to be utilized there.

I think Nani is out. Apparently he left Arsenal with a protective boot on and could miss a couple of weeks according to the Telegraph.

Portuguese winger Nani is also set to miss the Liverpool game after leaving the Emirates following Sunday’s victory at Arsenal wearing a protective boot due to a foot injury.

Although Nani was forced to sit with his foot raised on the train journey back to Manchester from London, the 25-year-old has told friends in Portugal that he hopes to be fit within two weeks, despite early fears that he may have suffered metatarsal damage.

Martin Atkinson set to end 11-month absence from Manchester United games for Liverpool FA Cup clash - Telegraph

First of all i think De Gea will play in this game because he needs a game and has played fantastic against Liverpool in October, but Lindegaard will be back in goal in the league.

To predict the rest of the line-up right now it's impossible with so many injured players (Vidic, Fletcher, Cleverley, Young & Owen, maybe Young and Owen are back for the game) and doubtful players (Rooney, Mr Twitter, Carrick, Nani, Jones & Anderson), regeneration will be more important than training at Carrington this week so it's really good that we're having no midweek game.

Fit starting XI: De Gea - Rafael, Smalling, Evans, Evra - Valencia, Scholes, Giggs, Park - Welbeck, Hernandez
Bench: Lindegaard, Fabio, Fryers, Pogba, Berbatov, Diouf, Keane

Man even more injuries now. I really am not confident, especially since we are playing at Anfield.
