Liverpool

Rodgers is emulating Sir Alex with getting his team to do a post new year push.

Seeing this tactic is used by another club while Man Utd flounder with David the Dingbat Moyes is ridiculous.

They looked very nervy today. Can't see them winning it if they are already feeling the pressure, with that defence. They're probably the worst back line in the top half.

I'm confident Chelsea or City will see it out.

And that prick, Gerrard, will end his career with less Premier League medals than Ronnie Wallwork.

Writing Liverpool off...November called, it wants its wisdom back!

We should really be conceding more goals in the big games then!

Two players with 20 goals.

One player with 35 medals.

Liverpool deserve to be up there...
It would break my heart and scar me if they won the league. Especially if it's our title and Mr. Everton was the one who brought us to our knees and submitted it to them...

Tip my hat to them...

It'll be tainted anyways...A racist and a Phil Collins fan winning the league. Disgusting

How do you reckon Liverpool are feeling the pressure? We have just won 7 games in a row and have the best form in the league.

I don't want Liverpool to win the league. I don't think they will think the league. I think they have a good chance of winning the league.

In summary, I don't want Liverpool to win the league.

They're looking stronger mentally by each game. If they can maintain being -1pts till they face Chelsea / City, anything can happen, it's not going to be easy, but to write them off at this stage is arrogance. Win Chelsea and City at home and they would probably win it IMO, not too impossible considering they have no pressure (underdogs) and whatever happens they are firmly tucked in CL next year.

You're not winning the league ffs

Although, it'll seem like it finishing above United.
Since 7th is the best you're going to aspire to, I reckon the six( or more) teams will also feel like they've won the league by finishing above you.:D:lol:
Anyway we'll keep climbing back up to the top of the heap in the meantime.

Will Liverpool winning the league hasten Moyes' exit in any way? It should, SAF wouldn't want those blokes too close for comfort. So, should we be rooting for 'Pool?

They've had a dream league season, really. I don't think even the most delusional of their fan-base would have expected it. They don't have a team filled with world class players, far from it, but Rodgers has them playing as a unit, mixed with the brilliance of the striking partnership formed up front and it's quite admirable what he's done, even if they win feck all this season.

It gives me hope though, because I think that too many Liverpool fans suddenly forget that they were lingering in 7th just last season, yet they are so quick to right us off under a new manager and a host of other changes taking place at the club. Moyes has admittedly been a disaster so far, and he hasn't shown the vision that Rodgers showed in his early Liverpool days in the way he wants the team to play, but still, I say write us off at your peril. Football is a funny old game, as this season has shown in buckets.

No matter where it ends up this season that trophy will have the sweet smell of Old Trafford all over it, they will be polishing Giggs fingerprints out of it for years to come, it's likely indented, forever flawed by his hand prints gripping both handles as he lofts it above his head time and time and time again.

PS I also hear that the camera men at Old Trafford rub their arse on the lenses of each camera just in case twatface scores.

Question to Liverpool fans - do you really think that the unlikely event of you winning the title will really change things in the long run?

Most of your performances have been heavily dependent on Suarez, Sturridge and Gerrard - the way ours last year (we are defending champions? Srsly?) was dependent on RVP and Carrick. What happens when your goals dry up? When Gerrard retires? When your ability to outscore opponents is gone? SAS can't bang in 50 goals every season - Suarez might even leave in summer. Your midfield is overachieving, your defence is waiting to be exposed, and you're weak on the flanks.

Chelsea will get their striker next year, City will buy a new defence, United will have at least 3/4 big names coming in, Arsenal have signed new deals which will finally loosen up their purse strings, and Spurs/United will have new managers soon.

As for transfer signings, all the above clubs can outspend you. There are players who're willing to forego CL football and join us - even with CL football, you can't match the Chelsea/United/Arsenal/City pulling power.

Add that to your presence in multiple tournaments next year - while United ( who won't even qualify for the Europa League this year) can concentrate only on the PL.

This is the closest you're going to get to silverware and CL spots in the near future. Can you disagree with that? Do you really think you can make it to top four next season as easily as you did this time round?if you think you can, then who will you displace - United, City, Arsenal or Chelsea?

But then again, we have Moyes

It isn't unlikely Liverpool will win the title.

Indeed, their strikers are in terrifying form right now, watched them yesterday and you can see again defensively they don't look that strong but those two are winning matches on their own and papering over any problems they have.

They clearly can win it. Hopefully Chelsea and City string a run of 4-5 wins in a row now.

The scenario you paint is reliant upon numerous factors falling into place including Liverpool regressing – it’s too much like wishful thinking.

Your scenario also seems to suggest that Rodgers has no money to spend and that if his best players don’t perform then Liverpool are shafted. Firstly, it is Rodgers who has built this team and created this system where goals are scored for fun. To put the emphasis on individual players is reductive analysis and exposes a degree of ignorance as to why Liverpool are so effective this year. So in short, Rodgers is the key to the success and if Liverpool keep him then the future looks bright.

Secondly, as a CL team Liverpool’s currency is bettered. The amount of transfers Liverpool have missed out on due to no CL football in recent seasons is testament to the value of having elite football back. As a result Liverpool will strengthen which will bolster their ability to compete on more than one front as they have done this season.

Thirdly, to suggest that Arsenal, Spurs and United will automatically leapfrog Liverpool next season is crystal ball stuff. You point out that Spurs and United will have new managers soon. Will they? And even if they will why does that mean success is around the corner? If it did then Spurs should be up there now as they change their manager most weeks.

WISHFUL. THINKING.

Not at all. Been saying it for weeks but people want to laugh at the possibility.

They don't want to believe that as we sink like a stone under Moyes, Liverpool will be back on their perch.

They don't want to imagine the mockery that's coming. They don't want to face the gloating and sneering...YAWN, David Moyes football genius etc.etc.

But it will happen.

Moyes' failure will then be complete. Then us lot will feel even worse about the 3-0 loss to the Scousers, knowing we could've protected Fergie's legacy and failed.

And they'll still say give him 'time'.
