Liverpool

VIDEO LINK DELETED BY ADMIN - (don't bother complaining)

This is giving me goosebumps, I cannot wait for City and Chelsea to come to Anfield.

edit: Didn't think video was breaking any rules, genuinely didn't think there would be anything wrong with it, sorry.
What was the video of?

But in accepting that deal you're risking Liverpool winning the PL for the next 3 years and doing the double for the last 2 of those 3 years. The chances of that are incredibly slim as you know but if we became good enough to win the PL for 3 years on the bounce it wouldn't be beyond belief.

At least you'd qualify for next year this way I suppose.

Last year and the fifteen years before that, Liverpool and their supporters have been moaning about refereeing decisions. This year, they seem to get one penalty after the other that is plain wrong. The second one against West Ham is ridiculous as the goalie is clearly on the ball. They've been awarded quite a few of these this season, have they not?

I've never seen anything like it. It's unheard of. They'll win the title due to penalty kicks if it keeps going like this. This title race is all down to the refs now.

Fergie is finally gone and the corrupt FA are finally giving them what they deserve, la.

#YAWN

To be fair to the refs Liverpool have two of the biggest divers in Sturridge and Suarez. We have Young he'd have to get hit by an axe of Terry now to maybe get a penalty.

 It's incredible how quickly the caf has turned into what it mocked all these years. Thread yesterday on Manchester City and their penalties and now this. The answer is the same here. They attack shitloads and at pace and are in the opposition box a lot, hence the referees have a lot of decisions to make. The odd time, they will make the wrong one. It's simple. Shut up.

Well they've had 12 penalties so far this season, which is the level most going back the last 11 seasons so not yet unprecedented. The teams equal with them are Chelsea, and oddly Crystal Palace in 04/05. The year they nearly stayed up by virtue of Andy Johnson diving.

To be fair it is a little suspect to get 3 in one game and a couple of games later another 2, especially when some of them are incorrect. Lots of teams attack with pace, but dont get this, its unusual even for Barca.

Might have touched the ball, but takes the player out.

Anyone remember the year they ran us really close for the league? 2009 I think it was. In almost every game they either won a dodgy penality or ended up playing against 10-men when one of the opposition got sent off. It was ludicrous.

The table doesn't lie at the end of the day, get over it.

I will silently cry if Liverpool win the league.

Definitely touched the ball first, therefore catching the player afterwards is irrelevant provided he didn't use excessive force. It was clear as day from the way the ball moved he simply had to have got something on it, Taylor is just a horrendous ref.

Yeah, there were 11 reds for tackles on Alonso or something that season, it was crazy.

This. We used to mock oppo fans for saying the same about us.

One of the quickest and best attacking teams in the league in getting lots of penalties shocker.

It's to do with the amount of touches we have in the opposition's penalty area. Rodgers commented on it earlier on in the season that if you have more touches in the area you draw more attempted challenges from the other side. Law of averages suggests that at least some of the challenges will be fouls.

Also law of averages in our league guarantees that referees will have a mare every now and then just like Taylor did today for our second penalty.

Looking for excuses lads? They've scored 80 other goals this season, and tbh most of the penalties have been fair. They play so often in the 18 yard box, something we used to do, that penalties are guaranteed.

It does make you think but then you look at their team and how they play, they constantly attack with pace and getting in behind teams. That type of football creates chances and therefore the likeliness of a penalty.

I wonder if there are stats around most fouls per team?

Again, to reiterate for the benefit of those who can't seem to be comprehend simple English, the issue isn't with the number of penalties they (and City get), it's with the sheer number of incorrect penalty decisions they receive.

I couldn't care if they got 137 penalties a season if they were all correct; the ire stems from the fact that they're benefiting from absurd decisions and it's rarely highlighted.

Shocking thread. Sturridge dive against us apart, all of their penalties have had sufficient doubt to be awarded. Besides, you can't blame them for what is essentially falling standards of refereeing.

In football most penalties are just con jobs. Look at Dzeko peno yesterday. Technically it was a foul but it wasnt enough to really hinder him. He could have played on. But like all players he just too the easy option.

Liverpool are experts and the best(mainly Suarez) at exaggerating contact and hence they get the most penos.

Of course all that reasoning goes out of the window for your entire fanbase when we get decisions.

They've received 12 (?) penalties so far this season, how many were incorrect?

Not sure if you're agreeing with me or not? But I find it funny how many fans fume when players exaggerate contact. I'd hope our players would do it, and I certainly used to when I was playing. I was encouraged by coaches, just as I have encouraged players I have coached.

They deserve to be winning regardless. My problem isn't with the amount of penalties but the amount of appeal they make on every situation.

Even the Sturridge one, I was absolutely convinced that was a foul in real-time. It was a quality dive.

 I'm big enough to admit when something is a penalty for United. United didn't give away many penalties under Ferguson because they dominated so many games and thus didn't allow the opposition the opportunity to get touches in your area.

Another example is that I was genuinely disgusted at the Nani red card against Madrid last season. Uefa's officiating is disgusting at times, especially towards the English clubs.

Without being biased there was a Suarez dive against Villa, the Sterling one against Stoke was questionable and I think today's second one was a shocking decision. I don't think we've had any other dodgy ones?
