Liverpool

Scoring goals has been a problem for them this season. Three 1-0 wins where they got goal in first half and then did just enough to hang on with it. Liverpool supporters might say that it was something which was missing last season that is assurity at back which is fair enough. The other side of course is that there are going to be games when the team will fall behind (as happened with Southampton and yesterday) and team should have strategy, plan as well as character to tackle that situation. Rodgers looked sort of out of ideas both against Southampton and us after falling behind.
Including the league cup game against Notts County, Liverpool have scored 9 goals in 7 with Sturridge scoring 6 of them. Remove that game against Notts County and it is 5 goals in 6 games against top tier oppositions, conceding 4. That is something for Rodgers to worry. It is great that they have Suarez back but Rodgers will hope he can have alternate regular goal scoring sources when strikers are having off-day.

Begrudgingly ... deserves recognition and respect. Of course its early days and they wont stay there for long, but Im glad for Rodgers that his talent and vision is starting to pay off.

Looking forward to a few seasons of stiff competition with them now that things are more equal for them with a SAF-less Manchester United.

Any predictions on how their season will play out and where they will end up this year?

That's all very noble and dignified but feck that. They're playing very well, no doubt, but I'm not glad for them or looking forward to them possibly finishing ahead of us.

Ha, I guess it's always good to differentiate this forum from RAWK. But hardly deserves a thread.

Wrong year.

 Why not discuss it in Liverpool thread? Would have made sense had it been the case in January-February or so. Even in December. Roma is topping serie A and spanking Inter tonight and on course for 7 wins in 7. Still Will most probably end up behind Juve and Napoli comfortably. Too early to look into table at this stage of season.

Thought that would happen  Generous bunch we are on the cafe

mistakenly put in wrong forum- pls can a mod move into football forum?

Wrong sammsky.

Wrongie O'Sullivan.

Their fixture list coudn't have been more helpful. Even playing us at home in September, when we traditionally start seasons slowly, was hugely beneficial for them.

They'll still finish outside the top 5.

Nah Liverpool wont be near the top four. That squad isnt deep enough and the whole Suarez situation will grind on them the whole season and especially in the Jan transfer window. But they are improving under Brentan but will need a major collapse from six better equipped clubs to make it back into the champions league.

Six?

The Suarez-Sturridge partnership seems to be working really well now but I would not want to see them in the top 4,5 or 6 for much longer.
