United are the best supported club in the world. simple.
Obviously not, but we'll probably be in as strong a position as Liverpool, Arsenal and anyone else going for top four come August. I still don't see us going anywhere under Moyes, but Manchester United haven't become a mid-table club overnight, we just have a mid-table manager. You're even more deluded if you think all the other teams, are just going to bow down to you and let you waltz back in. United will still be in a healthy position whether you finish in the CL or not i agree, but breaking into the top 4 again next season won't be as simple as many of you make it sound.
It won't be a one off if we persist with Moyes, but hopefully he'll be gone with enough time for his successor to salvage something next season. We haven't necessarily said you will, however I think it's slightly deluded to just think this season is just a one off for United.
It's just too early to say.

Well like I said in another post I don't see Moyes surviving next season, I'm hoping he'll go soon enough that his successor will have enough time to achieve something of note next season. If we spend the reported amount this summer Moyes will be expected to deliver a title challenge.I don't think you will, for the exact same point you mention at the end of your post.
Keep the mid table manager long enough and soon he begins to instill a midtable mentality.
There's a winning mentality at Manchester United, one mediocre season doesn't change that.
The owners and the board will be wary of this, I don't see a repeat of what happened to you. The infrastructure in place is too significant.Multiple will, especially if a rebuild takes place.
the owners will not allow to happen to us what yours did.

Arsenal or Liverpool most likely, if we're to make it.United won't become a midtable club anytime soon, they're far too well ran. At the same time, it won't be easy to get back into the top 4 next season, since most of you seem to agree that you will, who do you think will drop out?

We're Manchester United, thankfully not Moyeschester United. Is there though? There's a winning mentality when Jose is manager. Often it disappears when he leaves. Who's to say it hasn't happened when Fergie left?

Is it as simple as that though? Even a new manager is not certain to get success.

The club will expect a title challenge next season if Moyes spends the reported amount in the summer, when he fails to deliver he'll be sacked. You can bet your bollocks to a barn-dance that Moyes' successor will be a top manager with a proven track record. We'll be okay, one and a half miserable seasons in the best part of a decade is survivable.
I think you'll be surprised how much weight Ferguson has in making the decision. I think Moyes will have one more season, maybe two.
Well a lot of journalists have reported he'll be expected to deliver the title next season, if he is to spend the reported amount. Do you think the Glazer's would be happy with that sort of return on £150 million? No chance.I think it'll be quite the opposite. Moyes will spend 150M or something in the Summer, next season we'll be 5th or 6th the whole season and then pip Arsenal/Liverpool to 4th in the last couple of rounds and all his supporters will claim that he had an extra-ordinary season. Expectations have dropped, if he gets 4th next season he'll be a miracle worker for a lot of people - and he's the one who has lowered the expectations this much.
There's not a chance in the world that a team goes from 6th or 7th to a title in a year with a manager like Moyes. 4th would be marvelous. He'll still play it cautious and be afraid to lose in the same way he's now.Well a lot of journalists have reported he'll be expected to deliver the title next season, if he is to spend the reported amount. Then he should leave now because he doesn't have the attitude to win titles.exactly. We would expect the title no less.

We might be back in top 4 within the next two seasons. We won't be winning the league though, not next year, not in 2016, not at any point during his tenure here. This won't be the expectation here anymore in a couple of years (much like it hasn't been at Arsenal) and you can quote me on that.
I guess my summary would be that although I've no faith in Moyes and don't see us going anywhere but down under him, I'm completely calm regarding the future of the club.
I'm not. If Moyes stays beyond this season it'll prove to me that we are more about principles than success and it won't spell a good next few years.I guess my summary would be that although I've no faith in Moyes and don't see us going anywhere but down under him, I'm completely calm regarding the future of the club.
So you think if we stick with Moyes we're less likely to give him significant backing? Even though he clearly needs help?Given Moyes' performance so far it's hard to see him being allowed to spend a packet in a rebuild. If it's the cautious approach he might be given some funds and another year, if it's radical he'll make way for someone else with a top level pedigree.

Are you on the board then, yeah?If Moyes gets top four next season, he's 100% safe. Maybe even fifth, a couple of points off.
