Liverpool

What if City bottle it tomorrow? The fact that they can afford a draw now might work in Liverpool's favor. You never know with this league...

Yeah I wouldn't say it's completely over just yet since there's been a lot of twists, although I don't see City throwing it away now.

I'm on a basketball chatboard for the college I went to and a lot of ABU "dippers" there. Here's a couple recent tidbits:

RE: the beautiful game Well that sucked. Hey I thought Schwarzer was 41 and Chelsea wouldn't be anything with their "B" team. Ha. Hate to say I predicted it, but that game was going to go to whichever team scored first. Stevie fell, they scored, game over. Mourinho deserves no credit for any managing genius. They parked the bus and had plenty of defensive talent to do just that. It was looking 0-0 which would've been fine for us, then Stevie fell down. Tragic way to lose and especially for a guy like Stevie who wants that title more than anything. Ironic and odd that now we rely on Everton to get points off city and give us a second chance at it.

Mourinho is a joke. That was a more expensive version of stoke city out there today, packing 8, 9 and even 10 behind the ball. I hope their supporters enjoy watching negative, boring, crap football.

RE: the beautiful game
Made exponentially harder by Chelsea playing 10 men within 20 yards of their goal. it truly captured the essence of "the beautiful game".

RE: the beautiful game (my post) stop whing and play! if you can't deal with a team packing it you don't deserve a championship.

RE: the beautiful game (today) Gutted, absolutely gutted. I feel bad for Stevie.

[Mourinho]We came for a point and we got a point. Second place is now as good as ours! [/Mourinho] Aces.

They could have done with a couple of Mourinho's buses today.

Where does this leave the boom/bust cycle? Back to bust?

Yes :(

Out of CL qualification early again, change of manager, shite players all need replacing. Oh wait a minute...that's someone else's bust cycle now. ;)

Next season will DEFINITELY be their season now though... :nervous:

That was woeful from Rogers, he's got no idea how to do anything but attack, 3-1 was the signal to drop the tempo and play a possession game, he will get found out terribly in CL next season.

That was our defence's fault. Johnson was abysmal in the last 15 minutes. Rodgers can't stop Johnson deciding not to defend.

Just seen Carra's analysis, didn't realise how poor it was from Glen Johnson on all three goals.

Oddly, Utd are on their way back up. This is a bitter pill for the dippers to swallow.

Hopefully we are. No guarantees yet, although hopefully we'll manage to get back into the mix next season.

This is still a great season for them. A lot to build on especially since they have a young first 11.
Only if Rodgers gets that message across to his players after being so close. Massive job to get over the disappointment with such young players.

It could hit some of them quite hard, something I think some people ignore. Footballers are human.

Are you? Based on what evidence?

Our situation will not be too dissimilar to what you guys had this season. If we employ a half decent manager who brings in 1-2 players, then coupled with having no European fixtures we should be able to make a charge for the league.

It was a matter of the set up. At 3-1, they should just fall back and stay compact and guard the win. You can't Catch City on goal difference anyways, that is just a dream. You just have to win you matches and hope for City to slip up. It was mostly Rodgers fault for not instructing his team as he should have.

If at the start of the season you had told me that on the last day of the season we'd still have a chance to win the league I'd have bit your hand off.
If we do fall short, this will kill the manager and the players. It'll drive them on to win it next season.

Look at our squad and compare it to any other in the top four. City can bring Negredo, Milner, Jovetic and the like off the bench. Chelsea can bring Salah, Schurrle and others off the bench too. We can bring Moses and Aspas on.

I'm worrying a little about this myself. We're still one bad City result away from disaster.
City are playing villa and west ham, both teams safe from drop with nothing to play for.
City will destroy both teams

Which is why you won't win it next season either.

Say it please say it, I've waited 13 years on these forums for you to say it :D:

This time next year, with Louis we've turned a corner. A new dawn is coming.
