Been sick of him for weeks. His philosophy doesn't exist. He'll never win a single thing. Hopefully we go for a new manager next summer.

I'm still so 50/50 on the man. I think if he was managing one of our rivals, I would think he's a bit of a dud.

Still too easily in the season to judge poorly but two points to make. But I think it's nuts that we have left our attack so bare this season. Memphis is a kid who will not solve our issues. It's why I simply didn't expect us to make a comeback today.

Poor subs. Absolutely ridiculous. Memphis Schweinsteiger and schneiderlin should have come off.

Getting a bit pissed off with him now.

  1. Preaches a philosophy that either he can't get players to perform, or just doesn't work.
  2. Drags on the GK saga all summer and seemingly burns bridges with DDG.
  3. Refuses to drop/replace the captain, the only justification I can imagine for this is he wants to save face as it was he who made him captain.
  4. Poor game management, when we need a goal and speed he brings on a slow CM to partner our other slow CM.
  5. contradicts his philosophy whenever we're behind by throwing the big man upfront and going route one.

Time is running out for LVG. He hasn't improved United much since Moyes despite spending those hundreds of millions. Perhaps his tactics are too complicated, or maybe they are not suited to the Premier League. Whatever the case, I'll be surprised if he's still here next season. Guardiola or Klopp could well be available next season, let's see.

Is he any better than rodgers?

I mean really is he?

At least rodgers had the balls to drop the under performing club legend gerrard. Whilst we've got rooney doing feck all game after game. Both managers don't know how to get the best out of their teams and make baffling tactical decisions. We are closer to liverpool than most would like to admit.

Can we have a vote with who wants him out now, end of the season or end of his contract?

It's no longer knee jerk, it's simply sick of seeing the shite that he wants us to play as Gary Neville has just said it's like we're winning 4-0, the way we play. He's not a Man Utd manager he's a bloody coward and he needs to go.

Ancelotti available too.

If no progress is made, I wouldn't give him a third year.

No progress after all the money spent and after all the players he's booted out the door.

This is the most disappointing thing. We can all hammer City for the money they spend but at least you can see progress with them and their football

@Damien poll? At least you won't be accused of being knee jerk and you'd have all the Van Gaal discussion in one thread.

Meh, doing better than Moyes. Who would we get to replace him anyway? It's still early days in the season, far too early to be calling for his head.

I think he will be gone next season. Pushed out of door or he will retire. Guardiola, Klopp and Ancelotti will be available.

If the plan was to stick Fellaini right up there and put it on his head/chest, why did Carrick come on 5 mins earlier?

Waste of a sub since we essentially went back to front bypassing midfield. Hernandez could have come on and given Fellaini more freedom and another option to have in the box while also meaning their defence couldn't just back off. Swansea just had to keep Felli quiet and there's the game.

His subs are shocking, chasing a game so you bring on Young and Carrick?

And the keeper situation is a mess too.

I've still got faith, but he does some strange things.

Van Gaal's cautiousness will be his undoing. What happened to the coach of Ajax and Barcelona who let his players take risks? He demands sterile domination, rather than really testing teams when we're on top. Then when our moment passes he resorts to route one. If when we were controlling matches we took a few more risks, tried a few more difficult through passes, things would look so much different. Van Gaal used to be the man who liked that sort of thing. Now he's becoming everything his enemies always said.

How about we start out with lumping it up to Fellaini, then when that doesn't work we can revert to proper football.

I hope you are better with solving laptop issues than United are with solving attacking issues :p

@Niall

EDIT: Damien should teach Woody and LVG how to solve the issues you have :wenger:

This is the most disappointing thing. We can all hammer City for the money they spend but at least you can see progress with them and their football

Plus Citys bench is as good as our first XI, theyve spent big, but on quality players, I dont know how we plan our team or targets its an absolute mess

One of the biggest oddities of Van Gaal's tenure is that his plan B is something English teams discovered long ago.

Big man up front might be new to Van Gaal, but it's what English defenders have been practicing against since they were kids.

The idea Williams was gonna be undone by pumping the ball high into the box is laughable.

Throughout all our title winning under Fergie rarely was big man up front ever a tactic. We learned to unlock defenses through relentless pressure. Something Van Gaal used to appreciate before he became Captain Caution.

I've been a big supporter of LvG since the beginning, often defending him various posters wanted to get rid last year. At this point my faith in him has faded for the following reasons:

- Boring tumescent backpass football
- Lack of success against mid table clubs
- Failure to buy a top striker
- Inability to motivate very good players to play as a team, entertain and score goals
- Instill a sense of focus and squad solidarity among our players

Basically I'm on the fence about him and another few losses and I may jump to the other side.

I don't want him sacked but the optimism and excitement I had when he joined is pretty much gone.

If we finished 4th or god forbid any lower, then I wouldn't be opposed to swapping him for someone like Klopp next summer.

The van Gaal football I expected is different to the one we got so far. Having said that it's still early in the season, we should wait and see how we're playing come December/January before calling for the sack.

can't believe people want him to be sacked now so early in the season. where the would that leave us for the rest of the season?

I just think he fills the players' heads with so much shit that they're too scared to go out and play their natural game.

Saying that we controlled the game and were the better team, even before the Swansea goals, is delusional.

Yeah I find it odd. I mean fellaini obviously causes issues and is a good weapon but I think we went overly long ball. Big difference to working the ball well and then putting in a good ball which Fellaini could compete for or open it up for others.

This is key for me. Some of the players seem scared to perform insticntively

If he thinks our squad is fine up-front, then he's a crazy person.

I'm not really comfortable with our defense either, but our problems up front is a greater concern.
