He's lost me now.

The sooner we can sound out someone like Ancelotti or Guardiola, the sooner we should move on. He can take his scouse pet with him too.

Who'd have thought going into the season with one over the hill striker, 2 kids and a winger who doesn't play would lead to us struggling for goals?

This is actually the first time where I'm thinking we shouldn't keep him on after the season. Especially not if there is any chance of getting Pep.

Absolute garbage. I've been patient with him, but there's absolutely no progress. Today was a game straight out of the Moyes tenure, and with much better players at LVG's disposal. His refusal to bench or at least sub Rooney is damning in the extreme. This bullshit safety-first, possession philosophy is neither interesting to watch nor particularly successful if we can't beat the likes of Palace, Swansea and Newcastle. Just an absolute goat rodeo, and the sooner we make a chance, the better.

I must say I never thought it would be his inability to manage under-performing players that would make me lose faith in the man.

Everyone has always talked about how LVG doesn't allow any player to rise above him but clearly Rooney is a different case - for whatever fecked up reason that is.

It's disgusting and ill-fitting of a club like Manchester United to see such shoddy performances go un-checked by the guy running the show.

Just as spineless as Moyes, even if he's clearly better in all other categories of management.

I actually do miss Ferguson now - he wouldn't put up with this shit.

Oh and obviously nothing in the way of halftime adjustments. Just more of the same garbage.

He put his faith in Rooney and has been let down. He's assembled this squad and they're playing awful football and have done so for the last month. This won't change either. He's obsessed with possession and control. We'll only stick even more rigidly to the system as he's sure its the right way.

Nothing to do with Rooney ffs, he wasn't even that bad today. Honestly I'd argue he was one of our best players. I agree with @pseudo_canadian though, for the first time I'm really starting to lose my patience. The constant sideways and backpasses when we need to push forward, and the flapping substitutes walking off at a snails pace when we're running out of time.. what the hell is that about?

Remove all those options in the pool, come on,those who want him gone step up and say it loud and clear!

Honestly could have kept Moyes on if we wanted the same type of football. Not a kneejerk; we are looking to contain matches rather than dominate them, which is exactly what David Moyes was doing.

playing manager is no longer good enough we need a manager to manage. he's f@@ked it.

That pressure towards the end reminded me of our best under Fergie when we were chasing games, when we kept creating chance after chance, cross after cross until eventually opponents break down and we win in dying minutes. Only difference is that today we had one defflected shot and one defflected cross in last 10 minutes or so, everything else was really identical like under Fergie. Total domination.

I appreciate where he is trying to take us, I think we could see the benefit of his philosophy a year or two in the future. At this time though, I can't see him getting us to a stage where we are exciting to watch.
I'd be glad if he stepped down if we could get someone like Pep in.

Because of the results this season and improvement in our style of play. It may not be the Barca style of play people are hoping for but it takes time.

Only issue i have with LvG is his obsession with picking Rooney time after time - any other player and they'd be in the reserves

Predictable away performance from us. His refusal to drop or take Rooney off is silly.

Under another manager I think we could be challenging for the title.

Think people are going to start turning now.
Bullshit that is. We lack the quality up front, the fact we are relying on a 19 year old lad to produce the magic emphasises that. You can't blame everything on tactics, we need at least two attacking players to come in.

Rubbish again. He's had enough time to improve the squad and performances, and I don't see much improvement for all the investment in the squad.

If Carlo's interested, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Should open a thread about what all is more interesting than watching Manchester United play football.

Have a feeling this the tide turning against him now. Too much garbage

I said on his appointment, and after his first 3 months , he was not the right manager, said the same about Moyes too earlier on, except in all those instances I was one of the few lone voices who disagreed with their appointments

I really think hes one of the worst managers in the league tbh, I mean you could give any manager 250 mill, and Im sure they will bring in some great players, and the play cannot be any worse than what LVG has been serving up for the past 1.5 years now

Not joining the band wagon, I have always been a total supporter of him, but today he has started to lose me, just like Moyes did in the Feb of the year he went. I like to hang on, but the team are not playing for him. I also blame Giggs in this. After seeing the documentary, there is no bloody way that guy can ever be the manager of this club.

Said this a while ago but sticking with Rooney will probably lead to Van Gaal getting the sack.

At this stage though I'm wondering how much of this is Rooney's fault or Van Gaal's, I mean the amount of passes we need to make to create a single chance is insane.

The buck stops with the manager. We can all have ago at Rooney at how shite he has been, but why is being selected and played 90 mins every game when he is stinking the place?.

We will probably in the next 2 games and go back to being shite again. That has been the norm throughout his tenure. One step forward and two steps back.

he fecking picked the fecking side that's play fecking shit. he needs to get his head adjusted.

By the way, right after the Arsenal game, I started a thread called 'LVG sack watch.' People were on me and I was infracted by the moderators. If someone else posts that now, do I get my points reduced?

Our results this season are basically the same. Constantly dropping points on the road and scraping by at home. Is that good enough?

The Rooney issue is a disgrace from a manager of his reputation.

A part from Rooney being replaced, which side we currently possess, could do better? We simply lack the quality. Only Martial looks like Manchester United quality up front right now.

Yeah, that seriously pissed me off. Maybe a draw was the targeted result ?

The thing is we are not making any progress, in fact it's getting worse.

Do we need a new manager or do we get a new striker in Jan?

Enough is enough for me now, we need to go and get Carlo before Chelsea do. There is just no progress what so ever, thanks for getting us champions league football last season but we aren't moving forward.

This squad even though it's a bit small should be challenging for the title this season. City and arse are not great siðes

We have fallen behind today but are still more than in with a chance... But I just don't feel confident Lvg can do it for us.

Today was tumescent, toothless shite on a stick. We created nothing in that 2nd half

How the feck is it bullshit?

How many points are we behind the top teams? Games like Palace away, Swansea away and Newcastle at home all dropped points. Arsenal won at Palace and Swansea away with ease.

You can blame the manager not benching or playing our worst player constantly.

You say we two players short. Whose fault is that?

He's steadied the ship but he's clearly not going to take us any further. Our brand of football is atrocious under him. Ideally I'd want him gone immediately but I don't see who we could get right now. If Pep is available in the summer it'd be criminal to ignore him.

And whose fault is that?. Losing so many attacking players and bringing in just 2 kids?.
