He is hopeless. If he had kept Schweinsteiger on we might have won this. After he went off it all fell to pieces.

Get this prick out of the club I'm like a broken record saying it week in week out

I had enough of him last year this year is just rubbing it in deeper

Get someone in that has a clue

Once again showing his philosophy is a load of bollocks and doesn't exist. Roll on when his tenure is over. He's making this group look like some group of death. A fortune spent and not a single game changer in sight.

Young was our best attacking player after he came on and Van Hoof puts him to right back.

the arrogant dutchman should make the fecking decision and bench the captain zero,, we will lose the fecking champions league with not only shit player but bsolutely woefull captain, this would never happen if roy keane was here, just shocking

Some of our supporters are wankers.

Terrible subs, though. Van Gaal carries the can for a lot of that second half.

Seriously to hell with him. I don't give a shit where we are in the league. I'm done blaming the players, his system doesn't bloody work. How can you play possession football when you clearly are asking your number 10 to stand up front instead of in the pocket. The Fellaini sub was a complete joke.

I thought we were quite good in the first half actually, and then started the second with two chances in quick succession. Then, for some bizarre reason, we made that bonkers auto-panic substitution and the whole thing went to pot. I genuinely don't understand the reasoning, it was diabolical.

Questions to answer after tonight but there's definitely an element that's out of his control (I've never seen players look so tired like United in the second half).

Tbf, surely the last 16 of the CL is a minimum target for United. If he doesn't win in Germany, would you blame fans wanting him out?

Not much use 'rescuing' us and getting us back into the Champions League only to be pretty close to getting us knocked out in the group stage. I've crossed the line from hating his style of football to actively wanting him gone now. I don't know how anyone can watch us and claim that is anywhere net good enough. He cleared out the deadwood they tell us. Have a look at what's out on that pitch. It's grim. Time to clear out his own deadwood.

No manager who plays Fellaini in midfield when chasing a goal has my backing. He's set us up nicely defensively, but I'd happily see him gone come the end of the season, especially if there's somebody like Pep available who'd love to take over a possession-dominating team.

Loved the pre-match presser when he and Blind laughed off the idea of team playing boring stuff. More ammunition for Scholes I guess.

If we don't get through this group then he should be gone at the end of the season (unless we win the league)

The tiredness is completely within his control. He chose to keep the squad light in numbers, he's the one picking them every week and he's the one taking the training. Tiredness at this stage of the season is ridiculous.

I've had it with him. Sure, it's a knee-jerk reaction but I can't wait until he's gone.

He's managed to scrape enough results to have a respectable, though hardly stellar, PL record but, having spent the kind of money he has, there's simply no excuse for playing such insultingly boring, uninspired football.

Such an arrogant, unlikeable person too. Doesn't help.

I think he topped his substitions tonight, which is seriously tough job considering he made lots of wrong ones during his time here.

They moaned about tiredness after the home game vs Wolfsburg. We were in trouble then and then throw in some injuries and we are paper thin

Just awful, even in our wins it seems we need a lucky goal, after that it's easy, but getting that first goal is so difficult. Really disappointing night, poor subs, poor tempo, poor everything.

We basically substituted our control of the midfield area for... Fellaini. And the chance to hoof. Shocking from LVG.

To be fair to him, we were incredibly wasteful with our chances tonight.

Then again, he is quite atrocious with his substitutions and simply does not have a plan B.

Depends whether or not we sit top of the league.

Sacking him mid season would be stupid, clearly. People are overreacting.

I hate this no urgency stuff, I'm so sick and tired of us coming out like this, it's unacceptable.
You can play Man Utd football, and you can lose, but you can't serve up that non-risk, slow as a snail weak garbage.

Still think we should get rid in the Summer.

I honestly don't think I can take another season of watching performances like that.

Standards have slipped to an all time low that's why it's tolerated.

He simply has to go because I doubt even Moyes would feck up the qualification in this manner. We deserve and can do better than this shit on a stick football and a manager who is so lacking in imagination that his solution to any problem is Fellaini.

The substitutions were simply awful. And there's no excuses for Manchester United team unable to bring the ball forward.

I've been his biggest supporter but if Ancelotti or Pep is available in the summer, we could do well to move on. Did his job stabilizing the club after the Moyes nightmare but clearly the team's reached its ceiling under his guidance.
