I like the way he's started playing tactical roulette again. So far this week we've had 4-2-2-2, then 3-5-2, back to 4-2-3-1 and then 3-5-2 again.

He's just making it up as he goes along, pretending like its all part of some magical process. When infact, he's just throwing shit at the wall and hoping something sticks.

I don't even feel like settling with some current players we have. Over 200 millions splashed and still considering Young/Fellaini combo as a solution to some of our problems is starting to feel like a slap in the face for anyone who wants us to play high level European football. Even in miraculous form, Ashley Young will be no challenge if we'll get the stronger sides to play against.

The visible progress is still there somewhere but tempo of philosophy's evolution is getting slower and slower with each passing match... at least that's how it feels at the moment.

Still won't pass the final judgement on him but let's drop the bullshit here, we have reasons to be worried about unlocking the goal machine.
 
We picked the wrong guy again, should've stuck with Moyes until Klopp was available.

It's fairly simple, really. There's no correlation between this shit on a stick football and success, or at least not exclusively. He's either choosing it or he can't do anything about it. Either way, without improvement, I'll be glad to see the back of him and his snake oil.

Until he's a bit more mature and learns the art of being a striker, I personally think he should be given a free role in the team.

Completely agree, it's football not rocket science, how long did it take for Ranieri/koeman,Martinez etc to get their respective teams playing way better football than we are?

Why does it HAVE to take 3 years, it's complete bollox, we should get Ancellotti in now as I said before.

I for one was really excited and pleased that we got lvg but it's obvious he talks so much crap and believes his own hype that much its clouding his judgment, there's no other explanation for the blatant ignorance of the problems we all see but he sees the opposite.

3. neither Rooney or Martial were getting behind the Leicester backline - so he could have taken either off, but Rooney has a slight knock so he chose Rooney
4. with the compactness of Leicester, it is hard to make chances, but when they fall you have to take them, if Depay had controlled his chance, it would probably have been a goal
5. we didn't give a lot away
6. disappointed by Leicester goal, as the players had talked about it over the last few days, but players did not react to the threat when it arose.

:lol: Those damned compact defences. Mad the way we come up against them every week, right?
 
Theres only 2 questions that really need to be asked at this point.

A) Could another manager with this set of players have us playing better football?
B) Could another manager with this set of players be getting better results?

Now i dont even think A needs a debate, there are a ton of managers that could have us playing better football without a large bed in period. I would argue Klopp or Potchettino could get a visible change within 6 weeks for example.

B) Now i dont have the stats to hand but i would imagine the points total at the top of the league right now has got to be one of the lowest ever, and there is a pack of about 6/7 clubs interchanging within touching distance so i wouldnt be describing Van Gaals performance so far as particularly impressive, especially given his financial backing.
so once again, i can think of a number of managers i would trust to be at least on par with our points total right now, the likes of ancellotti available right now, Klopp available previously and even Conte if he was able to balance the italy job.

Now there is a precedent for fans to stand behind their players and their manager for good reason, but i just dont think Van Gaal is doing a particularly good job.

I was basing my opinion on these quotes, calling anyone out after giving Rooney such an easy ride is complete bollox in my opinion.
 
This is singularly the worst thread on any football forum I have ever read - and i have ghosted rawk and blue moon when linked from here for a good number of years.

This place used to be the bastian of sense of football forums but I think SAF mourning has finally kicked in (trying to excuse it a little) success has finally caught up with fans and we are in danger of becoming what every other teams fans already think we are.

We are close to something special here I am amazed few see it.
 
If we don't get Pep or Carlo I wouldn't mind taking a punt on Pochettino if we could get him.

As for LvG, did we only make the one substitute? Surely some fresh legs would have been good towards the end. Bastian and Carrick were clearly exhausted.

I agree Rooney needs to get back to being the guy that has scored 200+ goals for us and find form again, dropping him might spark him back to life but the youngsters need to grab there chances too.

We are dominating games and creating chances. I feel like I'm in twilight zone (with LVG - and that is not so nice)

I kind of meant drop Rooney and dump him out of the club.

His form has always been patchy and I never want to experience his drop in form over the last four months again.

It is what LVG said, not a justification and I am not supporting the view.

I am more of the view that 3 or 4 players need a real bollocking because it is the same players nearly everytime that are just going through the motions. Really pissed at Darmian, Young and Carrick today. Piss poor effort.
 
I'd be livid if the board decides to Moyes this up again and wait until the end to sack him, rather than proactively trying to save our season.

Why can't he adapt his methods to suit the players test he does have if he feels he doesn't have the right squad? He is meant to be an innovator after all.

The man is dining out on credit that is fast expiring
 
ok , if he can turn it around up top and still keep it tight at the back and the other sides don't turn the corner LVG could win the league. he's still a few players short of a real squad. do you give him money to buy the players he may need?

What do you think we can achieve by changing him mid season when the like of Pep might only available next summer?

We're still challenging for the title. It's easy to find an upgrade to Moyesy. But LVG??
