I remember Moyes first press conference was particularly boring he just seemed so overwhelmed by everything. Hoping Van Gaal makes a good impression on what his vision for the club is.

I remember it differently. He was composed but pretty bland.

What a ridiculous comment.

Moyes took over on July 1st last season in his official capacity. It was well documented that he'd been working behind the scenes preparing for his new role once Everton's season was done, too.
if it was so well documented im sure you can enlighten us then with some documentation ;)

I agree, but British Managers tend to stick up for each other. They never get the top jobs, never get given enough time etc.
perhaps instead of worrying about getting enough time, british managers should see what they can do to earn more time.

if your mentality is focused on not getting enough time, then you basically have an out no matter what happens and it becomes more difficult to decide where the line is drawn in saying "I feel I've had enough time". They know the environment and the industry they work in. It doesn't matter if they feel they should get more time, if you're not doing enough to earn more time, you probably won't be in a job for very long.

perhaps it's not fair but seems to be the way it goes based on the number of sackings we see.

His relationship with MUTV will be interesting just to see if he treats them benignly or if he views them as just another arm of the media. Can imagine him getting uptight even at some of there "your campaign seems to have the momentum of a run-away freight train. Why are you so popular?" questions.

I think he's going to like Cleverley as a player, if he can outlast the apparent summer cull.

See. He arrives today! Someone was saying he is arriving tomorrow. He won't be going to Carrington today maybe but he will reach Manchester tonight, so let's celebrate! wooohoooo :D

Reading that article which has been up for over an hour... spot the mistake anyone:

EDIT : Too late. :D

Lots of positive media coverage with a few ex-players coming out and saying lovely things about van Gaal. In fact, I haven't heard such blanket positivity since the appointment of David Moyes to United.

Has he arrived yet ?

Or when is he supposed to ? Surely their ought to be pics ?

Haven't seen any pics of any ceremony in Holland yet either ?

I'd like to know this also, they say Wednesday he starts but is that conference and unveiling or a tour of the grounds?

He looked like a kid on his first day of high school, and we will see a marked difference in Van Gaal in terms of demeanour and confidence. He has a hell of a job on his hands but he will relish the challenge.

Van Gaal's first presser will be crucial. The outcome of the entire season could very well be riding on it.

"We'll do our best to try and be like Liverpool.....no wait, pardon, I mean 'besht'"

"We hope that Van Persie...I mean Van Person...will remain fit throughout the sheeshon and that Shooney won't be too angry and confushed."

Is it bad that I hope LVG goes mental and rips the shit out of literally everyone?

No. I hope so too. I'd like to hear that he's mauled Fred the Red so badly that he won't feature next season. I want 'em all to have the fear of God beaten in to 'em after last season.

And I don't want to hear anyone piping up about "that's not the way to treat modern footballers" boo-hoo. No. I like the idea of Van Gaal as a general, come in to kick the shit out of the troops and execute anyone who doesn't follow orders.

Smalling isn't a fringe player. He played well over 25 plus matches to 30 surely last season.

He played 38 games. He's hardly a fringe player when we have so few defenders. There's no way anyone other than Evra is going from the remaining defenders.
