Sam, acnumber9, I'm always right & MrMojo - No-one wants to read your shit arguments about the most pointless things ever, especially over three pages now, it's just bickering. It's really annoying for us, so I've deleted all your posts so maybe you'll see there is no point to it for you guys either.

Car crash of a thread.

Some of you lot will be banned if you dont wind your necks in.

Hitler has struck.

Looked unfit in the first half, showed more intent and urgency in the second half. Glad he is back, he is something different to everyone at the club. We need him to stay fit and raring to go for the rest of the season ahead.

I thought some of his passes were good, on a good wavelength with our other technical players so that's always encouraging.

That extra little burst to take him past players will come over the next few games as his match fitness builds up so all in all I'm pretty excited about his return.

Strange reaction from the crowd towards him last night. Definite frustration with 1 gimp shouting "You'll never be Ronaldo!" at him. Way to go retard.

There was definite cheers when he was subbed off too.

I thought he had moments where he was dangerous but on the whole it was a 5/10 performance which isn't too bad considering the period of time out and I wouldn't give anyone anymore than a 6/10 for last night. Apart from Giggs. Obviously...

Yes I was getting annoyed with some of the crowd reaction, I don't know why some of them come. Supporters... there's a clue in the name isn't there? Bloke next to me was slagging him off after an admittedly crap cross in the second half and I said to him, give him a chance, he's been out for 15 games! "Maybe," he said "but he's rubbish isn't he?"

Well no, actually he's not rubbish and we could do with a fit, confident Nani doing the stuff we all know he's capable of in the second half of this season so get behind the lad and give him some encouragement!

I didn't think he did badly today. Its good to have him back. He looks dangerous on the ball even when things are not working 100% for him. Will be great to have him back to full match fitness and sharpness

We really do have some of the biggest idiots supporting us. I find going to games a chore often enough, having to listen to "supporters" slating Michael Carrick cause "he's a bit shit and just passes backwards", or similar nonsense as you mentioned for the like of Nani etc. It's just painful and you spend half the time just biting you lip.

It was an encouraging performance, considering it's his first game back after 15 matches out, he put in as good as performance on the wings as we've seen in the last couple months. Really good link-up play, just needs a run of games to bring that confidence back and have him running at his man again. For me it really highlighted how poor Valencia/Young have been in his absence, it looked like Valencia was the one returning from a lengthy injury yesterday, not Nani. If we can get them both back into form, it should do wonders for our overall play.

I'd say it looks a lot more likely Nani will hit some consistent form than Valencia or Young. The case of Valencia is really weird. God knows what's happened there. IMO he was one of the best wingers in the world last year, and he's now about as useful as Stuart Downing. Nani can offer something even when playing poorly, although admittedly he was pretty shit before the injury anyway, though that may have been because off-field issues which hopefully have been resolved. We're lucky Zenit didn't sign him in the end as we'd look pretty stuffed on the wings.

After the first ten or twenty minutes I feared the worst a little bit, because for a player returning after so long he was showing no desire and little confidence. But that lovely low shot (volleyed, I think), which young Potts saved on the line, seemed to get him going a bit.

He was involved in some lovely near-thing counter-attacks (always the sort of football which brings the best out of him, for me). If he'd just got that outside of the foot pass to Hernandez right, or indeed gone for an easier one into all that space in front of the Mexican a couple of steps earlier, he'd have got the assist which his performance regularly threatened.

Like I said, short memories. 15 games out and he still played decent in patches last night. Some fans are idiots.

What were people expecting from Nani after his long absence ? Some friends tell me they were disappointed by him :wenger:

It's always the same though, when he wasn't playing well he was getting more shit than any other player. It will no doubt pick up again if he fails to perform in his next appearance.

Exactly.

What a fecking retard. Last time I was at OT, there was a similar moron behind me shouting for Nani to be taken off after around 10 minutes into the game.

I'm sorry but, some of them need to be punched in the face.

Agree with all of that.

If not for some top class defending he'd have capped the night with a goal too. I actually can't remember the last time one of our wingers came close to scoring (pretty sure it was Nani before his injury!)

Some clearance that was, the technique he hit it the ball was sweet

He's been far from at his best in recent times but he deserves no stick for last night, played well for someone out so long just looked a bit rusty. Anyone on a players back in their first game back from a long lay off is an idiot, pure and simple.

If he gets back to any sort of form he'll be a crucial option in the run in.

Back on the fans moaning thing, I mean, what do these people hope to achieve by it? I'm imagining playing for a team and hearing my own supporters on the sidelines moaning every time I don't do exactly what they hoped, whether I make a poor cross or slow down a counter attack. I know footballers have to have thick skin but still, it can't be great for the likes of Nani and Valencia's confidence to hear.

Young had a perfectly good goal chalked off vs City.

Exactly. Presumably if they're United supporters they want United players to deliver the best performance they're capable of. Nani doesn't do himself any favours with the diving shit, even I joined in the groans when he did that a couple of times in the first half but why some of them slag him off when he's clearly a good player, back from injury so not likely to turn the afterburners on just yet... and also clearly a confidence player who needs to be encouraged to try the audacious stuff because when he's on it, he's likely to score or create some spectacular goals! Why do they come to the match? Do they just want to sit there and slag off United players who make the odd mistake? Some people are just complete feckwits.

When did he dive? I thought he got screwed over by the ref on a couple of occasions when he was clearly impeded, maybe I saw it wrong.
Not seen a replay and I was in the Stretford so maybe I got that wrong but I thought there were a couple of dives early on in the first half at the Scoreboard End. There was a lot of groaning (not at the ref!) all around the ground including the United Road paddock which would have had the best view.

Don't blame you regarding the replay...wouldn't want to sit through that again!

There was one right in front of me. I'm front row of East 1. He got pelters for it.

It was the kind of performance I expected from Nani all in all. He's been out for so long it's only natural it will take time. Hope he gets up to speed and kicks on.

Looked to me like it was a slight foul, actually, but he did himself no favours by making such an obviously theatrical meal of it. Don't blame the ref at all for assuming it was a straightforward dive.

Yeah when we gave away that daft free kick out wide with about 2 or 3 mins left I though oh feck extra time!

I thought Nani did OK last night, he needs games, that's obvious to anyone who isn't very very stupid.

A bit rusty, fully expected of course, but I thought Nani showed some decent stuff last night. Critics need to give the man some space.

Glad to have him back. The way he attacks his defenders is exactly what we need more out of our wingers. Thought both him and Valencia did that more than we've seen in a long time.

Regarding his dives - 1 at least they showed that he was clearly shoved by Spence, right on the edge of the box but, play was waved on.

The knives were out for him well before kick off I'd imagine. A modern trend is the guy thats out, for whatever reason, becomes the fall guy....

I thought Nani did pretty well recently for his first match in ages. Took on his full back and looked a threat and had some interplay with Hernandez and Anderson.

Yeah, pretty decent showing for a first game back. If we can get he and Valencia in good form we'll be flying.

Did very well considering it's his first game back. Even though extremely rusty, just seeing the way he touches the ball shows how far ahead he is compared to his competitors. He, Kagawa, and Scholes are the only players with this quality. Giggs and RvP not far behind.

And despite him being so rusty yesterday, he still looked like Garrincha compared to Valencia of this season (who, by the way, I predict to hit top form as the season gets tougher) - he simply has to play more games. Great footballer.

He was a bit shit yesterday, hopefully he will improve with games.

The diving was back which was disappointing he really needs to cut that crap from his game.

Thought he did ok yesterday, had his shot not been cleared off the line, I think that would have given him an extra boost, as he is a big confidence player.
