Man United vs Stoke City Minute by Minute

Halftime, not an impressive performance to say the least, but the defense has been solid other than O'Shea heading onto the bar. I hope to see Anderson, Nani, and Rafael at some point in the second half, a half where United probably will blow Stoke out of the water
 
Half time, United lead 2-0 without really having to get out of second gear. 8 strikes on goal, 7 on target for United. Stoke have had just one, the effort they blazed over the bar early on. 51% of the play in Stokes 3rd of the pitch

Fletcher fizzes it into Tevez, who turns and passes to Berbatov, who gets lucky with a bizarre backheel flick which ends up in his own path, but he makes no mistake and buries it to end the game

Nearly an own goal. Ronaldo does Griffin all ends up from out wide, not a great cross though, bizarely Sorenson decides to punch the ball at his own defender. Comes back to him to collect though. Stoke break and win a throw, Delap booed yet again. Beats the first man, but still cleared, and on the follow up Delaps fouls Ronaldo and conceeds a free kick. Delap getting stick rotten from the OT crowd!

Two brilliant challenges from Fletcher, really impressing himself on the Stoke players giving them no time whatsoever. Carrick manages to get a shot in following the resulting throw in, but it's charged down, and Stoke regain possession

Opens up for Tevez, he could have had a strike from outside the edge but tries to carry it on further but gets crowded out, many stoke bodies quick to close the space off

Ronaldo has a free kick from absolutely miles out. If he scores from this... ooooh troubled Sorensen, straight at him but moving again, just blocks it out. United corner

Cross straight into Sorensens arms. Stoke break and we have the Delap pantomime all over again... this time more dangerous, bounced in the penalty area but cleared away
 
Tevez with a poor finish on a clear chance

Two penalty shouts have been denied and Evra is carded for obstruction
 
Oh great chance for Tevez one on one with the keeper, but weak effort, which is actually spilt by the keeper. United earn a corned, and even a shout for handball in there, and another appeal from the corner for a penalty. Nothing given, Evra booked as Stoke break past the half way line. No idea if either penalty shout was a legitimate claim

Fletcher and Park off for Gibson and Wellbeck
 
Griffin takes the ball off Ronaldo for perhaps the first time in the match. Fuller fouls Evans to give the ball back to United though, another man already on a booking
 
Clear foul on Ronaldo denied, he is getting very angry with the situation

Faye and Ronaldo having a bit of handbags, ref in quick to sort it out. Was actually Ronaldo kicking his man for once! Probably frustration at how often he's had the treatment today

Wellbecks first real involvement in the match, quick free quick and nice little interchange with Berbatov, and later a nice little dummy as the ball goes out wide, but the pass infield by Evans comes to nothing
 
Penalty shout as Griffin takes the ball off Ronaldo in the area. Gets the ball, looks a good tackle. Did get some of Ronaldo's heal though, perhaps would have been a trickier decision if it wasn't 3-0 United already

Tevez is a fat Maradona apparently. Stoke wish they had someone as good as a fat Maradona playing for them today. Best they have is Rory 'long throw' Delap, and he can't even get that right. Although he's about to have another chance, takes it short!!!!!
