They don't have 8 players injured

Wes
Rio
Kleberson
Ole
Ronaldo
Heinze
Saha
Ruud

Arsenal's subs have shown some class in the 2nd half

It seems like it today, BUT, I would also have to say we are carrying quite a few injuries, 1 suspension, and 2 players away on Olympic duty. We are probably deeper. Doesn't really mean more talented, though, does it?

If your boss didnt buy shyte, your backup players would be able to do a job. That's the point of strength in depth.

Anyway, when we had shitloads of injuries last year, we were told it wasnt a valid excuse. Because apparently, our backup wasnt good enough - and there was no one else to blame.

So touche. :smirk:

Yea, lets buy 8 back up players that are just as good. Great idea.

our backline was rubbish, reyes and bergkamp looked good, and we don't have to worry about the "curse" of the community shield

bellion :wenger:

Given the lack of match fitness and the injuries, and the dis-jointed pre-season, I thought we did OK.

We really need something other than Super Bellion Man on the right, I would give Ronaldo the hardest punch on the nose if I could right now, spotty little twat, we missed him in a big way today.

Smith was excellent.

We used the same argument last season when we had bucketloads of injuries - and you lot rubbished our claims. So like i say, touche...or if you want it in plain english: tough shit.

;)

well, whoever expects any team to play their best without their best players is a bit :wenger:

Oh, i agree...i'm just using the same logic that so many mancs used last year when WE complained about having so many injuries. Seems that, for some, there's one rule for one team and a different rule for everyone else.

Anyway, never mind.

Arsenal seemed to emphasise that they're the team to beat again and the others will have to work very hard to match them. For the record, they didnt have their strongest lineup either - far from it. But their 'reserve' players looked the part - because Wenger has bought very well.

When will people realise Bellion and Forlan are not fit to wear the shirt :(
I don't care about any arguement Forlan can improve, hes been here 3 fecking years and hasn't improved. 40k a week a perform like he does. Effort is not enough, you have to be a good footballer, Forlan isn't.

Agreed, but it's not Forlan's fault that your plank of a manager thought he was good enough to spend £7m on.

Have to agree... :(

YESS! 3-1
whoever won the CS has never won the premiership, is that right or am i getting too happy?

Bellion and Forlan shouldn't play football ever for us again, lets bids for Ronney, Now I am fecking pissed off by Ronaldo decision to go to the olympics, we needed him.

But which 'Ronney' is the question? O'Sullivan? Rosenthal? Scott, perhaps? ;)

Agree about Ronaldo, that decision of his has screwed you over. I think you should sell him. He clearly doesnt give a shit about United. Judas that he is.

;)

looks to me that they've got better youth players...
That's just lies.

I think they have better quality in depth, just not the quantity, which seems to be the opposite with us.

Really big players missing, Ronaldo is probably our best midfield player and he's been a little cnut and fecked off elsewhere, Ole is a very valuable player, aswell as obviously Ruud and Louis who are top class centre forwards, the former probably the best in Europe. And Wes is a big part of our defence, I fear for us without him at the back, for some reason we seem like we have a defence who are strangers to each other. Aswell as Heinze who Fergie see's as a big part of our defence. And obviously Rio too.

And even Kleberson is a creative player who has looked good when given a run.

Added to Fletch who played in the middle hasnt played since May, Quinton hasnt played for half a year, Scholes has only played 60 minutes, with all the above in consideration, I dont think we did too bad.

Except a couple of times when we did it.

Are you seriously cheering us to defeat because of a silly superstition?

United in 93-94 and 96-97 went on to claim the league title after winning the Charity Shield...and I believe United's 96 Charity Shield victory was the last time the winner went on to claim the championship.

Fact is, shit happens - and when it does, you need backup players who can do a job. Yours dont look good enough. Arsenal's do.

We could definitely use Ronaldo on Wednesday night. That match is not going to be a walkover. I've never liked Fletcher on the right, think he's much better as a central midfielder. But I've reluctantly come to the conclusion that of all our current possibilities, he is our best right midfielder. Hope to see him start there Wednesday night.
