Man Utd vs Reading

Steve Coppell back at OT. Let's give him a big hand and maybe have a song and then play his team off the park. Three nil would be great, but considering our form I'll settle for one. Master Wayne to hammer it home in the 11th minute.

No, its at the Madejski Stadium.

damn there is so many noobs been promoted lately.. now we have their stupidity in the main forums.

This game as i already said wont be easy at all. With our dodgy defence i can see Reading causing us alot of problems and if they play the high ball then we could be in trouble. Our forwards will have to have a good day infront of the Reading goal to prevent an upset.

Watch Convey on the left. He can whip in a decent cross and is pretty quick on the flank. Gaz will be up for it, per usual.

Hahnemann is a decent keeper too.

I really like this formation.... No matter what you say about Fletcher you have to admit that he's a good CM and a great passer of the ball.... Him alongside Carrick and Scholes

There have been ideas of playing Heinze in midfield, Evra as a winger, Ronaldo as a striker. But Vidic on the left? That's a brand new idea...

I've heard Vidic sometimes played left-back for Spartak.

Rooney wasn't half pissed off about plaiying on the left against Celtic. Feltcher deserves a place after the Arsenal and Celtic games.

What is this?

You're discriminating them by making their logo smaller :)

If I'm not mistaken, the last time sombedy did this, we lost the match. :(

Why has everyone ignored this thread?

It was here before the other one and is also set out properly, as in Reading are at home

I demand that everyone posts in this topic ;)

Same team vs Arsenal, but with Vidic coming in for Brown, Ole coming in for Fletcher and Evra for Silvestre

So it's not going to be the same team then?

Exactly the same, but only different colour and shape... ;)

Oh shut-up you cry-baby:wenger: I created this thread because i couldn't see a Man Utd vs Reading thread.

P.S. who the hell are you to demand anything....

Back to the topic - we should (need to) win. I predict 3-0

Reading won't be a push over. They're scoring goals in the Premiership and they are good at home.

I would take the risk and play Vidic though. He needs match fitness, and it makes sense to get him in better condition, considering we have a fair few matches coming up. Would also give Wes and Rio something to think about.

-----------Kuszczak-------

Gaz-------Rio----Vidic----Evra

Ronaldo--Fletcher--Carrick----Richardson

-------------Rooney-----------

-------------Saha----------------

I think O'Sheas performance against Arsenal was just too poor to reward him with another start. I'd give Fletcher a chance, and see if he takes the chance. I've been impressed with him this season. I'd also rest Scholes and put him on the subs bench, allowing Carrick more pitch time, but also allowing Scholes a rest for midweek. Perhaps putting Scholes on with 20 minutes to go to give him a bit of a run out?

I'd also give Richardson a run out against Reading. I'd like to see Evra and him working together, i think they could work very well together. Also the Reading right back is a little slow.

Agreed on sheasy, hes a good lad and a good squad member but IMO fletch is a better CM and a more talented player and deserves a slot ahead. I would start carrick and scholes though, let them form some kind of partnership.

Looks pretty good to me, as someone said earlier on paper this is the perfect match for us to pick ourselves up again, however I can't see Reading sitting back and letting us play without them giving it a good go .. which incidentally could suit us quite well

Utd 3 - 1 Reading

Saha, Rooney & Carrick / Scholes

Woo im the thread starter, maybe I will see the first perfect game for United this season.

A clean sheet, some goals and us being comfortable and also no injuries.

..............Kuszczak..............
...Brown...Rio...Vidic...Evra....
Ronaldo..Carrick..Smith..Richie
...........Saha..Rooney..........

Neville and Scholes to be rested.

I could live with that.

Good shout Jacob.

We should would win 2-0 but I think Reading will give it a go and it will be entertaining.

I think I'm gonna start writing Roneiyj, Gygs, Sochyls instead of Rooney, Giggs, Scholes. Is it that hard to remember it's "Kuszczak"? It's our player after all, we should remember how to write his name.

Kuszczak (VDS if fit)
Nev-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra
Ronaldo-Scholes-Carrick-Richardson
Rooney-Saha

Yes, it is. It is a weird name. I'm not going to take time out of my day to learn his name.

MANCHESTER UNITED saw their record Premiership start of four successive victories ended by Emmanuel Adebayor's late winner for Arsenal at Old Trafford last Sunday. Sir Alex Ferguson will therefore send out his side in his 1,100th match in charge determined to make Reading feel the backlash of last weekend's setback.

United, who go to Portugal to face Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday, have not suffered successive League defeats in 48 Premiership games, since Norwich and Everton beat them on 2 and 9 April 2005 respectively, both away from Old Trafford.

These clubs have been drawn against each other six times in the FA Cup, with United progressing on five occasions, including the most recent in January 1996, when they won the fourth round tie 0-3 at Elm Park with goals from Ryan Giggs, Paul Parker and Eric Cantona. The 10 FA Cup matches are the only occurrences in which these clubs have met previously in any competition.

Just pulled this form the BBC weely stats column .. its all positive

Hes gotta play his strongest eleven, we need a win to bounce straight back. No fecking about resting players, get in there a get the points.

the Kat (VDS if fit)
nev, rio, brown (one more shoddy performance and give Vidic a go), evra
ronny, scholes, carrick, richardson
rooney, saha

Is hienze still unavailable?

More Positive Vibes

bit more... Chasing a 150th away win in their Premier League history.

Defending a 100% away Premiership record this season, following victories at Charlton and Watford.

Victory would give United 15 points after the first six matches of a Premiership season for the first time since the 1999-2000 campaign, when they went on to win the title.

again from the beeb ... Gabriel Heinze is in the Manchester United squad for the first time this term, and it is good timing with Mikael Silvestre out with a twisted ankle.

Manchester United (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Neville, Ferdinand, Brown, Vidic, Heinze, Evra, O'Shea, Ronaldo, Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes, Richardson, Jones, Rooney, Saha, Smith, Solskjaer.

I would generally rather play fletch than richardson but hes a bit wasted out on the right IMO. Apart from that, ditto.

Sweet. i suppose its a bit premature to expect him to start though. Maybe agaisnt benfica? It would generally be ragarded as less of a physical contest and maybe at a slower tempo.
