Man Utd vs Reading

below par performance in the 1st half. Kudos to Reading..

Come on United!!

We need Torres, Hargreaves and Vicente .:D
Or maybe realisticly Giggs ,Saha And Ole.

Half-time. Plenty of possession, but too little chances created. Rooney needs more support upfront and Ronaldo needs to stop making these stupid shots

Considering we supposedly have two wingers on the pitch you can't really tell. I'd get Evra on for either Heinze or Richardson, need someone to threaten down that side and neither are doing that.

HT 0-0
United have played quite well but the final pass does not seem to be coming off.Carrick has played very well, as has Scoles of course. Ronaldo has been dangerous.
We're still suffering from the lack of sharpness of Rooney though, and Richardson has not produced anything.

We've worked it well from the back to the forward line (very few long balls from the back 4), the forwards have not made the best use of it, still better then last week where we didn't even get it up to them.

this is depressing, we are fecking shite

Nice of you to mention the team.Because according to some it's Richardsons fault.

Evra's not on the bench

So were either outrageously shit and need to sell half our players... or Reading are doing well and holding us but we are playing a bit shit?

The latter sounds more likely to me...

Jesus, if you think United were "shite" in the first half then you must have been spoilt in the few other United matches you've seen. United have played pretty well. Reading are a good side and are hard to break down.

I thought our passing was pretty good in the middle. We are passing way way better than against the Arse. We are just missing that final ball. But if we continue to pass to feet like this, it has to come IMO.

We miss Giggs and Saha. Gabby has done better than I expected coming back after soooo long out.

I don't think I've said this about any United player, at least in our current squad, but Richardson is a fecking liability. Get Ole on please.

What a terible first half

Ronney is terible just like the previous two games so the best thing will be to be replaced by Solskjaer as soon as posible. Richardson is shit like always. I did not saw Carrick for the entire game. I would say that the best player for Man Utd was Ronaldo.

we've dominated the game but without looking like scoring.

we just need to get the first goal and the floodgates will open.

However, I predict a frustrating draw or we'll get hit on the break and lose 1-0 because thats what United are best at against the 'lower' sides.

I mean, really, if he had any hint of footballing talent, we'd be 2 or 3 up.

I can't remember ever being so infuriated by one players crapness

feck off Richardson

Two problems so far.
1) Rooneys been awful, everything hes done has been wrong, the pace seems gone, the energy is lacking and he cant seem to control the ball at all. Worst i've seen the kid play. Maybe we need to replace him with Saha.

2) Richardson. Someone do something about him. So many times Scholes and Carrick and have done brilliantly to set him up in space and he can never put a decent one in. Ronaldo got one chance to do that and Scholes almost got a goal.

Otherwise Scholes Carrick and Fletcher all looked superb for most of the half until the last ten minutes where Reading got at us. Need to get Richardson off IMO, hes cutting down our options.

FFS this forum should be renamed 'Matchday Forum and slag off as many united players as you can within reason (or without)'

Depressing...

Richardson is a shocker. Here we are playing the formation we should have played against Arsenal in a match in which we should be playing the formation we actually did against Arsenal. Ridiculous.

:( as bad as the rest you are....

I've never seen anything from Richardson to make me think differently.

I don't change my mind after every game.

If Richardson suddenly puts in a run of great games, then I might think differently. Sorry, but I just don't think he's a particularly good player

I cant believe people think Fletcher is even half as bad as him. Fletcher could play for most premiership sides. Richardson does nothing but kick the ball forwards and run after it. And most of the time someone else gets there before him.

I think we could bang a few in if we get one in the next 10 minutes. We've used the ball well just not had too much of a cutting edge in the final third.

If anything Rooney could do with a partner up top, I certainly wouldn't dream of taking him off!

I don't think we are playing "fecking shite". We are passing well, and passing to feet. Its just that the final ball is not coming.

Richardson is a fecking Liability.

Nope, just Richardson. And while Im at it can Ronaldo a) stop shooting and b) stay on his fecking wing. Please.

Scholes has been pretty shit as well. Some awful passes he's made.

Lucky Richardson's playing though, or most people would be using Fletcher as a scapegoat again.

Richardson is a fecking Liability.

Its the last three years minus the last six months all over again. Pass pass pass nothing. Scholes cannot play in the hole. i don't know why, he just can't.

On another note, Scholes and Carrick look really good. Both such excellent passers, some of the stuff from Scholsey has been breathtaking.

Shut up ffs, you dont need to keep repeating yourself... I got you the first second third and fourth times. Is this the in thing at the moment? instead of match analysis and description this thread has just turned into slag off rich and ron for some...

Richardson's best position is in the centre of midfield, hope Fergie realises that sooner rather than later.

He doesn't have the awareness to play in CM. He doesn't have the quick feet and quick thinking to play there either. Most times when he gets the ball he has no idea what to do with it immediately and needs a few seconds to decide what to do with it. He doesn;t have the defensive requirements and does not have the work rate today either. And he is much too reliant on his left foot it's a handicap. He constantly needs to shift the ball to his left foot. He's pacy but he is very far from being quick. But it's basically down to not having a brain. I hardly critisize any player but he is one that frustrates me constantly. And when not having the ball and when we're defending he struts around instead of doing some real work. Even Ronaldo's defensive work puts him to shame.

I think we're going to struggle like this every time we're missing Saha, his importance up front in terms of presence and creativity can't be underestimated and we have no one who can fulfill his role and really impose himself on the oppo backline. Smith may be the best alternative but he isn't as athletic or powerful as Saha and struggles to find his way out of deep positions. Rooney clearly needs Saha as much as anyone. Maybe an alternate to Saha, an energetic, inventive striker, should be our priority in January over a central midfield depth (Vital as well) but I don't think there is anyone on the market who is good as Louis, maybe just a reliable underling
