Mendy and Walker improve them massively.
For me City comfortably have the best squad and starting 11 in the league. Granted this doesn't mean anything, but I reckon they aren't finished spending yet.

They have the three most expensive defenders of all time AND the most expensive keeper of all time. And the other guy (Otamendi) cost 35m himself. So I don't think there is any doubt.
I actually wouldn't be surprised if this group was twice as expensive as any other back five ever assembled.

Outrageous. Not one of them is world class either.
Hope they fail miserably.
Hope you can see that spending money you earned and spending money an owner invested are two different things. And Im not sure if United really spended the most either tbh. Or significantly more than the other rich clubs in the PL.
Its not really a problem to me that City spends, but the Pep-wankers who complained at Mou for so long for being a cheque-book manager, this annoys a bit.

Lacks balance in midfield imo, and they wont get Sanchez. And I think Aguero will lose his place. Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Stones, Mendy, Fernandinho/Yaya, Gundodan/Yaya, David Silva/De Bruyne, De Bruyne/David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus seems okay. With Aguero, Sane, Sterling on the bench.
Thiago Silva + David Luiz + Kurzawa + Marquinos + Trapp is probably £140m.
I hope they concede even more goals than previous season after this spending. It would be very funny.

Well I personally think it's inevitable.
A year left on his deal, they're absolutely minted. Arsenal know he'd probably just go there in a year for free anyway. I can't see how it won't happen, unless Madrid, United or Barca suddenly go all out for him. Which they won't (for no reason in United's case)
If Pep doesn't win the league fairly comfortably this season he'll have a lot of answer for.
Mendy and Walker will improve them significantly. And Jesus is showing signs of becoming an outstanding player which makes them even more fluid up front.

Life is far too short to take stuff like this seriously. I honestly could not care less if there is a Manchester United shirt or a signed picture of Roy Keane for that matter under our stadium.

Strange kind of 352 tonight v Spurs but another pretty good performance, should have been 6 or 7 nil instead of 3.
Last couple of games its been 3 at the back. Will be strange if we stick to that with only 3 CB's on the books.

Actually got a good laugh from a few of those. The Giggs one especially.
And you can afford to keep Bernardo, Sané and Sterling on the bench. Incredible depth.
Interesting to see which CB Pep will target now that he's said they'd like to bring one in. Another 50m addition or someone low-key this time?
Expect them to go for van Dijk. Pep doesn't do low key even for back up full back so can't see him doing it for the spine.
What would that mean for Stones then? I doubt he'll drop Kompany and Otamendi, provided they stay fit throughout the season.
Doubt Pep cares. He's building to win the title. In any case, kompany's fitness is way too dodgy, stones will get plenty of games.
Max pressure on Pep to win PL with this level of spending.
What would be the starting 11 this season ?
Bit risky creating a whole new back line. 3 new full backs, new keeper and now a new centre half...dint think I've seen any top team do that before. Surely there must be a clearly coming too.
Well, that was always going to happen at City this season. Their FBs have needed an upgrade for a while now and Bravo ended up becoming the problem instead of solving it last season. The clear up has already happened, they released them all before even starting the purchases.
To be fair, the fitness levels of those inflatable "defenders" were definitely higher than Spurs' backline. We were impressive the other night and there are plenty of encouraging signs that this might come together after all, but Spurs looked woefully behind schedule.
