Manchester City 17/18 discussion | "If you're here for the Champions clap your hands" (#6505)

My brother is back visiting from South Korea and, including the Stoke game just gone, is going to all 4 consecutive home games the lucky sod. That timing as if the were a United fan he'd be unlucky as our 4 are all away.

Rumors that Sarri will not play his best XI which would be a shame but we’ll see as it has the ingredients for a delicious footballing spectacle

They are looking very very good. To think they are looking to add sanchez and more to this team already is fecked up. Think we may see the highest ever points total in PL by a team tumble this year.I also think they may well get more than 100 points. That quadruple dream for the sheikhs looks on.

I'll wait to see how they do over winter. If they're still this good, they're walking the league.

Can see them doing really well in the CL too which I don't even want to think about!

I mean whats the point in watching football anymore? they're that good.

One hell of a jinx that.

Desperate times.

Hopefully they're still a bit soft at the back. That the only chance we have of winning the league over them.

On a side note it's crazy the gap teams like City now have over good sized clubs like Napoli. Football has become so distorted.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Long time till May.

Its a marathon, let us see how long can they last. I don't mind them getting all the attention for now, let us do our work silently. If we somehow manage to win the league , it will be so sweet. But as of now City are favorites.

no chance in hell they don't keep this up until May. I mean what can happen. They'll forget how to play?

No jinx on my part, i definately feel that, if they keep players fit, they will win it easily and go deep into CL.
Its also not too early, they ahve played 10 odd games now this season and have looked class in 9 of them. I think tactically and individually guardiola and his team are up there. It will take some individual inspiration to stop them in CL. In the league i do not think they will be bettered by anyone as they even with injuries are just too damn good for anyone.

They looked unstoppable tbh, only weakness was CB, but that seemed to be ironed out. Now we need that quadruple speech from Kompany then the wheels can comes off.

Even if they hit a slow patch, I can't see it lasting long.
Head and shoulders above everyone in this league atm.

They'll probably hit a bad patch at some point but I don't reckon it'll be anywhere near the consistently poor spells they've had in the past two seasons. Seems too good for that now.

Why couldn't the sheikhs have bought Newcastle, spurs or Arsenal. Anyone but city (except liverpool obviously).

Still piss poor when teams go at them. Although who has bollocks big enough to attack them when they have such quality the other way?

It's funny that Sterling is currently their top scorer with Jesus. Already on 8 goals. I still think it's a purple patch. Can't see him scoring regularly like that.

Btw, Jesus, Sterling and Sane have already scored 22 goals between them and it's only October.

Held up pretty well against Napoli today. They had what, three good chances all game? First was a penalty stupidly conceded by Walker when there was no danger, second was a mistake by Fernandinho, and the third was good play from Ghoulam to earn a penalty. Our defence could obviously be improved, but it's far from 'piss poor', and we displayed incredible composure in the second half to continue playing out from the back and take the sting out of Napoli's fightback.

Him and Jesus seem to get a tap in every time I catch the highlights.
