The midfield's been fine. We have completely outplayed City. We have lacked abit of killer end product but that's due to overplaying around the box if anything and the wingers not putting in great crosses.
We have conceded two goals due to bad defending if anything although De Gea has to take some blame for the second. City are also a set piece specialist team.
Abit fecking gutting really as we deserve to be ahead, but find ourselves two behind.

Some poor performances, Evra continuing from where he left off last season getting caught out a few times. Rooney's not looked great, Young and Welbeck have hardly had the ball. The midfield dont look like doing anything.
Ah wells... Wembley generally hates us and it's the Community Shield... Ominous signs for De Gea and Evra, tho'... De Gea's not looked top class, really, so we're not immediately sorted for a top goalie in him just yet, and Evra keeps up his weird decision-making and lack of discipline.

Negative points, Vidic, De Gea and Evra.. the latter still not showing signs of returning to his old world class form and the lack of penetration up front, lots of great build up play but no real clear cut chances. Young done well for me, played with alot of conviction.
If we can get one early, we're still in this, but I just hope if we do lose this, it presses Fergie into buying a midfielder even if that position's not really to blame for the result as it is, Carrick and Anderson did decent in that half so should be exempt from criticism.

We were playing so fine football, yet had only two shots at goal. And keeper's done poorly for both goals, if you set VDS as the acceptable standard.

On the de Gea issue, he had a bit of a reputation in Spain for being dodgy on long rangers.
The first goal was a young keepers mistake, those will happen as he gets experience, but the second could be an issue.

I remember hearing something that De Gea let in more long range goals than any other keeper in La Liga last season. Just a random thing.
