Manchester City vs. Manchester United

Final whistle couldn't come quick enough. Did well to contain the damage to just 4 in the context of things.

What a shame to lose like this. Clearly not our day. And this game proved that Young just does not cut it to start in big games

Well that was pants. Fully prepared to lose but the performance was atrocious for large parts. I seriously hope some players get dropped for a few games at least.

Abysmal.

Moyes plan for the first 5, albeit tough games, has utterly failed. Pathetic today.

Describing this performance as pathetic is too kind to the players and management. Moyes has worryingly looked completely clueless in the big games so far this season.

least we've avoided being completely humiliated

City backed off towards the end, could have been a lot worse. It's over now, smash the scousers on Wednesday and we will all feel a lot better.

That's what has annoyed me, the old we walked the league last season, when everyone was screaming that our midfield was weak and they did nothing about it.

I think we all knew that there will be one or two results like this, even at OT, this season. We aren't going to win anything but we must allow Moyes time to improve the side. IMHO, we have been a bit shite for since Scholesy retired the first time.

Rooney and Cleverley were pretty good, the rest of the team were poor. City were fantastic though. At least it's better than the Liverpool match, when they were shite too.

Are they really though? They just use their best players and actually turned up for the game. They've also scored on pretty much every chance they've had.

For the first one hour United did not have a single shot on target, let alone a scoring opportunity.

After 4-0 City put the foot off the pedal and played the game out.

Its clear City have a better team as they never stopped throwing hundreds of million each window. In order to catch up to them we need to outsmart them in the market which I don't think we did.

from 4-0 down at 60mins we did pretty well to get out of that without an absolute historical embarrassment.

4-1 is almost relief!

Best to forget this one now and have a reaction against Liverpool wednesday

So you're pretty much basing your whole "they have a better squad"-argument on a single game?

A bad day at office. I hope this marks end of Young starting. Let's hope there is reaction from players, a right reaction.

It's a shame we took so long to settle down. The game was long gone and we prevented a much bigger humiliation. But it never should have come to this. We allowed them to dominate us from the start. It's not good enough any way you look at it.

Now we'll see if we can respond in the games ahead. We've over this tough run and on paper it get's easier.

Moyes is a manager for a team that is always outside the big 4.
So United will be outside the big 4 this season.
But do not despair, United is helping English players gaining experience by fielding
Smalling, Ferdinand, Carrick, Cleverly, Young, Rooney and Welbeck.
Whereas City only got 2 - Hart and Milner.

I think the worst thing was the lack of intensity to our game. It's not something we haven't seen and it cost us here. City were very good you have to say that and sometimes these things can happen. But I thought with RVP out the team was too defensive, there was pace for a counter but even with hardworking players I just don't think it has the same defensive strength to pull of that sort of game against the best attacking teams.

Too little too late with the pressure we're applying now. Hope it's a lesson learned.

If he was going to learn a lesson from playing negative sides and omitting the likes of Kagawa for all our big games he'd have done it after the poor Chelsea and Liverpool performances.

The fact he hasn't yet is very, very worrying
