Only idiots would boo Yorkie. He may have tailed off in cringeworthy fashion, but he was pure dynamite for two seasons, and he contributed to that glorious day in February 2001 when the country's second best side was made to look like the worst. Not forgetting of course his immeasureable service during that first season. My problems are not with him as a player but with the jack the lad inside him. A good role model off the pitch, always smiling, he was just too fond of the playboy life for my liking. What can you do?[/QUOTE]

I was glad he left but have good memories of the Arsenal game and the treble year. If I had his money, fame and girlfriends I wouldn't be able to concentrate on football either.

Bellion and Kleberson in for Giggs and Forlan.

------------Howard----------------
Neville----Rio----Silvestre---O'Shea-
---------Keane--P.Nev-------------
Kleberson------------Fortune-------
--------Bellion-----------------------
--------------RvN-----------------

Bench:
Carroll
Forlan
Giggs
Ronaldo
And Butt, i think....

:nervous:

In fairness i think certain players had to be rested, bit nervous about Kleberson.

Hmm, I was thinking I wish we had a little bit more going forward. I know Diego only arrived back yesterday afternoon from South America and Giggsy had those 2 tough matches against Russia...would have liked to have seen Ronaldo starting though, along with RVN and Bellion.

Agreed, Giggsy with a minor injury, Forlan with jet-lag and Ronaldo and Fletch both having played twice in the last week...

It'll be very interesting to see how Kleberson will perform. :nervous:

In recent weeks, i cant help but notice Blackburn have had problems in defence, especially with set pieces and pace, against leicester they conceded from two free kicks swung into the area from wide positions, and against Liverpool i thought Pools pace did alot of damage.

Bellion can provide the pace, but with Giggs,Diego and Ronaldo out ive no idea who can take a dangerous free kick.

yeah..QF and JOS is combining very well down the left..
and what a shot by keano

A quick half time run down, the star of the show, for me, is Quinton Fortune. Tremendous, set up both goals, worked hard defensively, good final ball, what a revelation he's been and its not an exaggeration to say he's looking one of our 3 best players at the moment and indeed all season.

Bellion has been causing them problems too, his pace is creating openings, his final ball at times lacks a bit but his pass for Roys effort was clever, he's chasing and getting in amongst them. Rio has been winning everything in the air, which is refreshing. O'Shea looks to be getting back to his best, Keano has been an inspiration, Ruud hasnt had many opertunities but he's chased and hustled really well, fantastic touch and finish for his goal too.

Klebersons been playing in behind Ruud, at first he looked sharpe, good first touch and precise passing, was quite often the centre of our attacks, but his support for Ruud wasnt quite there, one time where Ruud was on the wing, Kleb should have been in the penalty area but was 10 yards away from it, but he perked up even more when he scored his, very well taken, goal.

My only worry is that Mickey looks a little shakey at the back. Keep it going lads, not over yet, but i think we've played some nice stuff.

If you havent seen the goals, the first one was played into Quinton at a hard angle, he flicked it over Short's head, onto Ruud whod made a great run, Ruud took a touch, and smacked it onto the inside of the near post and in. Second goal was one of the best so far this season, imo, Keano played a great ball to Ruud who nipped inside, chipped a ball to Quinton who, first time, knocked it back for Kleberson who swept it in with his left peg.

Thats about it.

:)

Good performance thus far. Thought we were a bit parochial for a while but once we got the first goal - a class one it was too - we were sizling, cutting them open down the flanks. When we were attacking down the right side, Fortune cut in from the left, and when we went down the left, Kleb came in from the right, to goodeffect. That's how we got our goals. Gary's long throw was headed down by Ruud, who turned and set off behind Gresko. Fortune flicked the ball back and Ruud, fifteen yards out on the right channel, fired it in off the inside of Freidel's laft-hand post. Then, Ruud gave Keano the ball then set off down the right. Roy returned the favour and Ruud's cross was generously laid back by Fortune (perhaps realising he couldn't do anything with it, was going behind him) and Kleb swept it in with his left. Class goals. Bright movement on and off the ball from Kleb and Bellion (Bellion in particular had the crowd in raptures over some moments of magic), who have been surprisingly tuned in having not played for so long. But my first half motm goes to Fortune - he has displayed some nifty skill and agression with work rate to match - he's improving so much so fast it's unreal.

A decent first half, we've been very effective. A bit sloppy in defence though, a better team could've punished us.

We've been much better going forward but most of the time the last pass isn't good enough. That I'd say is because our players haven't played enough together, ie Kleberson doesn't know how Ruud will run and Bellion doesn't know how Fortune will run etc...

Bellion is very active, his ball control isn't the best but he's got pace and when he manages to handle the ball he's creative and a real danger for the opposition.

Kleberson has been good, in the right position to score his goal and always looking for a killer pass. Still has problems with the tempo and understanding his team mates but that will come with time. Quality.

Two assists for Quinton, and the second was a great pass when most players would've tried to shoot, with the ball going in to row Z.

Fantastic first goal by Ruud, a true world class finish. And his cross created the second too.

Shocking, wasn't it? I reckon he should have been sent off and subsequently banned forever... ;)

So far, Gary, John, Keano, Bellion, Kleberson, Fortune, and Ruud have all been impressive, particularly Ruud and Bellion. DB looks very quick and tricky down the right, and although his crossing could use some work, he seems to be linking up well with the other players.

Ruud is, well, Ruud at his best. Great header for Fortune to chip back in, and then great control to bring the ball down and a very good finish. He also crossed to Fortune who set up Klebbo's goal, which was also a very well taken first-time shot. I thought Ruud wasn't a team player and couldn't create chances for others? :smirk: Klebbo's looked good all-around as well, I thought.

QF's balls into the goal scorers are perfect. "all" they had to do is finish.

FAO Mr Wood......................how often are these live webcasts broadcast? Because it would be great if you could inform us every week if there was one or not and how we could acesss it like u hav told us this week!!

Thanks mate

Oh, and I agree that Fortune was outstanding in the first half.

This referee is fecking shit. We should have had a clear penalty a minute ago, but it's not given and Blackburn have just scored.

2-1.

FT 2-1.

I'm not too happy about the second half. I don't like to see us let up like that.

Why do we have to make it hard for ourself? Conceding a goal on a counter attack when you're leading 2-0 isn't acceptable. We had many chances to score but the disallowed goal (which of course should've been allowed) should've made us alert in defence. As it was Timmy had to make a number of saves. And this for a team with the best defence in the league? Come fecking on, we can do it much better.

Sure, we could've and should've scored more than two goals and I'm not saying we should've stopped attacking at 2-0 but we should've been more proffessional and humble.

I think that Croatian channel plays the same Premier League games that Fox Sports World (US, not Canada) is playing. I'd suggest checking their schedule if you want to know which games are on.

Fortune and Kleberson aren't defensive midfielders ... Though they can both do the job.

I'd say Quinton was defensive. Plays as a left back, or holds in midfield. Either way he's not a winger, good game today though.

Ha ha as I predicted: Kleberson and Bellion started today's match. I am mad cod Howard will get fewer points in my fantasy team on premierleague.com. What is more, I think that the ref made some evident mistakes (faul on Fortune, penalty after tackle on Keane).
