I admit that it was painful to lose the Worthington Cup to yourselves, if we'd got knocked out in earlier rounds then I wouldn't have lost any sleep over it - and I'm sure that you'd be the same. I would have willingly traded the 3 handled pot for a win this Saturday

Coping with defeat is when you go on the worst run your team has seen in 40 years, you play shite football and you lose to Birmingham, yet you still don't boo your team off the field like some would, you back the manager and you sing You'll Never Walk Alone when you're losing at home with 5 minutes left.

Shanks has spoken.

So if you are coping so well with defeat how come there are so many empty seats at Unfilled this season? How come your supporters did boo your team off the pitch after the defeat by Birmingham? How would it be any different if you weren't coping so well?

Wanks is outspoken ;)

No he is not. And it's Shanks my friend. Shanks. :)

We lost away to the Brum, and the few that were booing were booing the officials and the cheating Brum players. But still, there was little booing.

And our stadium has lost some fair weathered interest this year. No big deal. Good ridance I say.

:)

PS - Shanks apologises, he didn't see you reply post when he posted his.

Will your players try as hard in any of your remaining matches than they will against United on Saturday? And as a fan don't you think that they are cheating you?

I think that my actual name - Shanks is more appropriate than any other name.

Yes, I feel more commitment is needed from the players. Another issue that Ged needs to address.
:)

Yes and no (in that order).

They'll play the exact same way against United as they will against all the other teams we have to face, unless those teams sit back and defend.

United's style of play is made for Liverpool to exploit, and I think our record against you over the last three seasons is better than against any other team in the Premier League.

We get slagged off for being one-dimensional but United are very predictable as well; just watch your last 7 games against us. You don't know how to beat Liverpool without our help.

But wanks is a more appropriate description of you ;)

If crazy eyes can't motivate the players to perform more consistantly does this not highlight the fact that he can't get through to them, and thus has taken you as far as he can?

If the other teams sit back and defend then you'll play out a 0-0 draw and send the few remaining fans in Unfilled to sleep. By playing such negative football it is an admission that you are not as good as the team you are playing against. As I've said many times already United have to win this game, a draw will suit you much more than it will us so we will have to come out and attack you.

What is the difference between the long ball tactics that Wimbledon became famous for, and the hoof-ball tactics that Liverpool use now?

Even a great one such as myself chokes his bishop from time to time... But that isn't the point. :)

Thommo and Lee and then Sami and Stevie are the ones who should motivate the players. Not Ged.

No its not, its a style of play. You're saying we know we're not as good as every single team we play against. That's rubbish and you know it.

Houllier's tactics have nothing to do with how good he thinks the team is and everything to do with how he believes he can win games. It works against some teams (United for instance) but not against defensive teams who are happy with a draw against us.

With the team we have we could and should destroy lesser teams by playing attacking football. This is not Houllier's 'philosophy' as he says. Personally, I think he's the wrong man for the job, but we'll still beat you on Saturday.

I wouldn't be so confident John. Shanks is still unsure.

I think that Ged is the man for the job. Look at the first part of the season. He just changed style as he knew the players we had in midfield weren't up to it.

The summer will be a big, big time.

John, are you on KT mate?

Shanks sits motionless, as the legend himsef takes in the quiet before the storm.......

You blinkered nob, if you were confident that you were better than the other teams you would go out and prove it by going out to attack them and dominating them instead of sitting back and waiting for them to come on to you. You know that half of the games you play are at home where you are expected to go at the other team. No wonder you can't fill your stadium, who would want to pay to sit through a 0-0 draw with very few attempts on goal?

Who can say who will win on Saturday, I personally think that it is too close to call but after the season you've been having I wouldn't come on here talking it up or you'll just look like even more of a nob afterwards if things go against you

Yes it will. Shanks meant big as in important. We HAVE to sign 2 good creative players. That's why it's a big, big time for us.

I won't look like a nob, I'll come on here and say well done like I did when you qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Everyone can be wrong, even me occasionally.

As for your other comments, you're the blinkered one as you clearly believe the only way to play football is United's way. If your team showed a bit more restraint against certain teams (i.e. us) instead of going for attack, attack, attack you mightn't have lost six of the last seven against us.

By the way, I wasn't apologising for Houllier, I was just saying that's his mentality. 1st priority on not conceding, second priority on scoring. Its not pretty and I'm not overly happy with it, but it doesn't look like he's going anywhere.

Your frequent references to and clear obsession with male genitalia are quite off-putting. Might I suggest you try some therapy, or preferably women, to cure your problems. :)

As for Houllier being mental, I've considered that question many times this season and haven't made up my mind yet. If he keeps Heskey and sells Baros, he's a certified fruitloop :)

You only have to look at his eyes to know that Houllihoops has clearly lost the plot

And 11 million quid for Heskey was the best bit of business that Leicester City ever did

Will they be creating for Heskey, who is not as good as Hartson?

It's confirmed that it's a dead back, and Mikey has admitted that he doesn't feel confident that he'll be back for Saturday, it's going to be touch and go.

Go on Milan!

What's the biggest thread ever, and can I wager on this beating the previous record by the end of next week???

I cant wait for the game. I point blank refuse to predict it though. Taking a dozen mates (in a limo) into Many on Friday night and whoever survives will share a few of my ales the following lunchtime.

COME ON!

Bring it on baby

:D
