I think you'll find that the last time we won 4-0 against them was today. :D

Not judged to be on target by Sky.

I got a phone call just after the third goal, I thought it was my Dad so I answered it with Here we go Here we go Here we go.

It was the Estate Agents.

Absolutely a great win. In the begining we were all over them and took a well deserved lead. Although we were a bit too cautious and slow after that, the second goal has settled the thing. After Becks came in and the players switched back to their best positions (Scholes in MF, Ole up front with Ruud, Becks and Giggs at two wings), we began to play some really fantastic and amazing football which completely destroy them.

Bring on Real!

4-0 but until we got the second i kept thinking about the city game at OT. I remember how we hamered the hammers 7-1 i think then went to real and didnt score. Hopefully we will score in spain and come back and crush them at home. What a couple of weeks in prospect the first one is done lets go united. We can still win it all <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

sorrie, did Barthez play today? was he injured or wat? never saw him during the whole match...

With the current form of Ruud I am confident we can score in Spain this time. :)

After that thrilling start I confess to getting concerned that we then took our foot off the gas rather than gun for a second goal. I should never have doubted them cos they played it superbly. Why kill themselves - we had plenty of time, we had the lead and Real are coming up. Instead we kept it tight, stroked it around. Meanwhile they had to work extra hard being a man down and ran out of steam. They we simply killed them off without scarely breaking sweat.

Great great stuff. I agree about RVN. He looked supremely confidence from the off today. Watch out Real - we're coming for ya!

Me and a mate have tickets for the return leg and I'm cant freakin well wait !!!

Boy am I on cloud nine.

Arse draw, Chelsea put daylight between them and Poo. Siddy beaten. Could this day get any better???

If it does, I'll be keeping THAT to my self ;)

:D

Of course we can say this after the result. But then I don't think it is really a good thing, and you can see Fergie's face was not really so happy before the half time. We should scored the decisive second goal asap, and then we can all relax and just stroked the ball around. That should be the right way to play. Anyone know football understand one goal lead is never enough and safe.

what a fantastic day I had yesterday :)

(...even backed the national winner)

4-0 and we didnt even play well.
ref got it spot on with the penalties and sending off. Hyppia cleary prevented rvn taking scoring opportunity. the scousers were lucky not to finish with ten men. (Gerrards tackle on keano was more like a war crime...)

Bright spots for me were scholes and Giggs. Giggs seems to be finding his old form back. Giggs' finnish was magnificant, those might not look hard but he did well to even get close to the ball. Reminded of a goal Johan Cruijff once scored in a 74 WC semi against Brasil

I hope you're right. I'm a bit more cautious because three out of Ruud's last five goals for us have been penalties.

I will be cautiously optimistic and not take anything for granted.

Yes, but he's created all those pens, except the second one yesterday. Which is a great sign, (he would have scored had the Liverpool CB not brought him down).

The most important thing, with all strikers, is that they are creating chances. Ruud is.
