we should be able to win this one, as long as Friedel doesn't play like he did last time
I have never seen a keeper play a better match...

He isn't injured! He just recovered from a minor knock and will be ready for the next match

They also say that Kleberson is out :P I belive Fergie more

We should beat them comfortably, after all, their badge is only half the size of ours

hopefully everyone will return without injuries, which isnt granted, as the past proved. what i've heard is that saha will be fit, but probably will not be sharp, not match-ready. heinze is a doubt, too, because he has to travel alot and will be tired. does anyone know when giggs will return?

There are no easy games.

But surely this is close....

I seriously doubt it. Sparky has really shaped them up defensively. They're a very difficult team to score against these days. Their problem is that they can't score enough. They've conceded only 8 goals in the 16 games since Jan 1, 05 and kept 8 clean sheets during these games.

And of course, they like to mix it up. They've committed the most fouls, have the most yellow cards and the most red cards.

I'd be happy with a 1-0 win + no injuries to any of our our players!

Blackburn always give us a tough game, they are one of our bogey teams lol

There is a chance I may not have been entirely serious Red....

Blackburn have upped their game alright. Maybe Kleberson should play, he had a decent shot against them at Ewood earlier this season, just before half time, and he scored against them the year before at OT.

I remember all of Klebersons golden moments.

I said it against Fulham and I'll say it again. I want to see Kleb given a chance as the third midfielder in our strongest team.

With international games in the week preceding the game, I think we'll see the a number players not involved or minimally involved starting the game. I predict the following to start :-

1. Silvestre
2. O'Shea (as Heinze have a mid week game in Buenos Aires)
3. Scholes
4. Keane (Ireland's mid week game is a friendly. He may not see much action)
5. Fortune (No mid week international)
7. Smith

Does anyone know if Howard is in the US squad for the FIFA qualifiers? If he is, he may not make the game due to the travelling, time difference & consequent jet lag..

Louis Saha is hoping to put his injury nightmare behind him by returning to action against Blackburn Rovers.
The Manchester United hit-man has had a terrible time this season and his lack of fitness has led to some suggestions that he could be one of the players sacrificed if there is to be a summer clear-out at Old Trafford.
The former Fulham forward will be determined to prove he is able to hold down a regular place at United with competition for places in attack so fierce due to the presence of Wayne Rooney, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Alan Smith.
"I have resumed training slowly," he explained.
"I have to take care, especially with changing direction when I run."
Saha has been experiencing pain in his left knee for some time but he will take advantage of the fact that he is not linking up with France during this international break in order to get back to full fitness.
United entertain Mark Hughes's Blackburn in their next fixture, on April 2 at Old Trafford.

United v Blackburn: Key battles
William Watt

THE Premiership swings back into action this weekend with United entertaining Blackburn Rovers.

Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping for a more convincing performance than last time the sides met, when it took a controversial equaliser from Alan Smith to earn a point for United.

Louis Saha appeared to set up Smith with a handball, and the former Leeds man lashed home from close range.

Here ManchesterOnline looks at where the match could be won or lost:

Wayne Rooney v Ryan Nelson

Rooney will be oozing with confidence after his classy England performances. The United starlet showcased all his creative skills against Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan to further enhance his reputation. While Ruud van Nistelrooy has been struggling to find form, Rooney has taken on the striking burden at United with ease and will once again be United's major threat.

Ryan Nelson has been one of the finds of the season for ex-United Rovers boss Mark Hughes. Signed from US side DC United on a free transfer, the strong defender has quickly become a hit with Rovers fans. If Rooney hits form, however, there is very little Nelson can do to stop him.

Rio Ferdinand v Paul Dickov

After his spell with Manchester City, Dickov will be no stranger to the Reds fans. Although he might not possess the technical ability of Rooney, Dickov will match anyone when it comes to commitment and is bound to wind up the Reds defenders. Ferdinand's ice-cool composure will be severely tested.

At least Rio won't be coming back from international duty under any stress. His two international appearances required hardly any effort on his part and he can expect a more lively afternoon at Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson would back his centre-back to cope though, as Ferdinand has been in imperious form this season.

Ronaldo v Lucas Neill

The United fans sing ‘There’s only one Ronaldo’ - though many of the Premier League’s full backs have been turned inside out that many times by the winger that they often see double. The Portuguese winger has learned when to open his box of tricks now though, and is much more effective as a result.

Rovers’ Aussie hard man Neill has the task of controlling the step overs and Cruyff turns this week. The full back has been one of Blackburn’s most consistent performers since they plucked him out of Millwall’s reserves a few years ago. Ronaldo, though, can be lethal on his day and if he hits form there are few full backs in the world that can stop him.

This seems like the type of match that Alan Smith should be involved in from the onset to counteract the combative Rovers. Of course, we are all looking for more goals from Ruud. I wouldn't mind seeing Kleberson getting a run out to see what he can do.

:) nice sprig. I propose a little poll: 1. In which minute will be Paul Dickov (if gets fit) sent off ? 2. In which minute will be Ruud taking his first penalty of the match ?
