Manchester United - Burton Albion FC

I thought Scholes has a problem with his eye and won't be playing until it's sorted and that Park picked up an injury in the warm up for the first game? Also, Ronaldo is suspended last I heard.
I could've missed updates on these but otherwise I find it strange that lots of you include these players in your ideal line ups?
I'd like to see us put quite a few in........
-------------------Tim-------------------
----Bardsley----Wes----Vidic----Evra----
----Ole----Fletcher----Smith----Giggs----
------------Saha--------Rossi------------
Depending on the fitness of Vidic but I think it would be an ideal match to bed Vidic and Evra in.
Ole was looking sharper in the reserves recently and it may still be too early for him to start a game but with Ronaldo and Park out......
Rooney and Ruud on the bench just in case but the 11 above should be able to do the job.

The previous league he played in finished in November so he hasn't played a game since. Therefore, the time he has spent with united he has been doing Endurance/pre season work. He should start in this match for the first time.
okay then. Can't wait to see him play at his best for United.

At this point in time, and it can be changed quite late on the ref for tomorrow's match is;-

Howard Webb

Which isn't too bad I suppose. He isn't a bad referee.

Yeah they are, if Burton are getting approx £500,000 from gates, how much can they expect to get from tv coverage? This'll be a great little earner for them won't it, fair play to the Bovril boys.

I heard before that they are expecting £800,000 in income just for this game at OT

My team

------------Howard-----------

Bardsley---Wes---Vidic------Mickey

Ole-----OShea---Richardson--Evra

----------Rossi----Saha----------

Evra is inelligible as he was not registered at the time of the first game. New players cannot be registered or introduced for the replay.

My guess is :-

------------Howard-----------

Bardsley---Pique---Vidic---O'Shea

Ole---Fletcher---Smith---Richardson

----------Rossi----Saha----------

Probable line-up although I think Brown should play ahead of Pique since he didn't play the derby game.

Will Old Trafford be soldout in this game?
No way.

But it will be intressting to see what the attendence will be, considering it was sold out vs last year Exeter.

Clough wary of Reds backlash
BURTON Albion manager Nigel Clough is bracing himself for a Manchester United backlash when he takes his non-league minnows to Old Trafford for their FA Cup third-round replay.

Albion earned their right to a rematch at the Theatre of Dreams after grinding out a 0-0 draw with Sir Alex Ferguson's Premiership giants at the 6,000-capacity Pirelli Stadium.

But the Brewers chief is fearful United's 3-1 defeat in last weekend's Manchester derby at Eastlands, as well as the Red Devils' close call in last season's competition when they needed a replay at St James Park to squeeze past Exeter, means Sir Alex Ferguson troops will show no mercy to their semi-professional colleagues.

Blazing

The Albion manager said: "We want to put on another good show but we're expecting them to come out with all guns blazing.

"They'll still have the Exeter game from last season in their minds and they'll have have been stung by losing to Manchester City at the weekend.

"In some ways, from our point of view it's nice there'll be missing one or two - like Wayne Rooney - but they've got they've still got such a huge squad to choose from.

"And it'll be interesting to see what side Sir Alex will put out.

"Sometimes when you've just lost a game - like the Manchester derby - the knee-jerk reaction is to play all the same players again to try to get it out of their systems.

"But we'll probably have to wait until 7pm to know what their team will be."

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will pick a shadow side for Wednesday's FA Cup third round replay against Burton Albion.

Ferguson has pledged to field a similar line-up to the one that drew at The Pirelli Stadium, although Richie Jones has since departed for Royal Antwerp on loan.

Giuseppe Rossi and Louis Saha should lead the line with Wayne Rooney suspended and Ruud van Nistelrooy an unlikely starter.

The United boss will expect an under-strength team to be too good for Nigel Clough's Conference outfit, avoiding a repeat of last year's Old Trafford stalemate with Exeter City in the same round.

"I will make some changes," he revealed. "I think I played the right team in the first game and it won't be far away from that team again."

With Sunday's live Sky Sports 1 clash with Liverpool on the horizon, the big guns will not be risked.

"It's a nice game for them," he said of Burton. "They will probably make around 600 or 700 thousand pounds out of it.

"In that respect, it's terrific for them but I always say in a cup tie, home advantage always gives you a great chance.

"It's beyond the fairytale thing. It's a matter of us winning the match.

"It doesn't matter who we play, we have got to win."

Fair play to em I say

On top of all that, we gave their players the opportunity to play in the once in a life time game at OT, emerging at the OT tunnel etc.... that would be so many stories to tell their children and grandchildren!

As they said, it's better than hitting the jackpot! Glad to be of service to them....;)

I can see the creativity running straight through that team :wenger:

Surprised no Vidic and Evra seeing as SAF claimed both would play about a week ago.

Surely Vidic won't be making his debut against Liverpool ...
