Manchester United F.C. vs. Fulham F.C.

5-0, there really should be no excuses, Fulham are in freefall.

But I'm guessing 1-1 with Renè the outcast son comes home to prove himself worthy or some shit like that.

For me the perfect game to start your strongest side, play the way MOYES wants us to play and see what happens. Yes, won't happen overnight, but I can't remember the last time we had a pretty much fit first 11.
Get a couple of goals and then start resting players - RVP etc.

DDG
Rafael - Vidic - Rio/Evans (if fit) - Evra
Carrick/Fletcher - Fellaini (I'm hoping he's fit)
Adnan - Rooney - Mata
RVP

The attacking 3 playing quite narrow, allowing the fullback to overrlap - as Moyes stated in an early interview with Marcotti, that's how he wants to play.
I hope Fellaini is fit, if so he should start. Can always be replaced.

No excuses and plenty of talent on the pitch.
A comfortable 3-0 with that line up.

Ths game is followed by three league games away from OT.This is a must win and a gam we will win, I hope with more style and confidence. The following three games must bring us a minimum of seven points.Otherwise that'll be the final nail in the coffin for fourth place! I would go for the formation soapy suggested!

I honestly don't think this game will be a problem. But the next five games after this one will test Moyes and the players. Arsenal, Palace, Olympiakos and West Brom, all away, then Liverpool at home.

Fulham are in disarray, if these players want to kick-start anything they have the biggest opportunity going. I'll call 2-0 because we don't create enough chances to destroy teams nowadays but as of now I'd take 2-0 with open arms and more.

Naturally we now all have doubts though.

Europa League, the ultimate kick in the teeth. I'd nearly rather get sixth.

6th will almost certainly be EL as well, and if two of the top 6 are also in the FA cup final then 7th will be as well. You;d be better off 8th or 7th depending on the latter than 5th or 6th.

Can we just give a polite "no thanks" if we accidentally end up qualifying for that dross?

Though I suppose it'll make an excellent experience for our youth players. Might just leave it for Phil Neville and his bluetooth headset to garner some coaching experience.

I just want to see this 4-3-3 happen once:drool:

There's more of a chance of seeing Valencia and young as a central midfield two than that formation. Moyes doesn't know anything other than a midfield 2.

Can't a guy have dreams?!:(

*starts crying and storms out the door dramatically while screaming "Damn you Moyes!"*

-------------DDG-------------
Rafael--Smalling--Ferdinand--Evra
-------Fellaini---Fletcher-------
Januzaj------Mata--------Young
-----------Rooney-------------

Would be my team, I think RVP isn't fully fit yet and we don't need him that much for this game, also not sure about Jones and Evans with the injurries they got at Stoke. Hope to see Fellaini back for this one and hope that Fletcher starts over Carrick or Cleverly who have been abysmall thus far.

Bench: RVP, Hernandez, Valencia, Carrick, Jones, Evans, Lindegaard

I hope you are right, he has scored 2 of our 3 goals since his return and the 3rd goal was the Young wonder strike.

Don't get me wrong his goals are game changers, but i'd rather he'd be fully fit to play against Arsenal. I think we'll need his goals alot more there to get the win (or a draw) than we do to get the points versus Fullham.

Fair enough, will also give Rooney an extra game to get his shit together.

Don't you want to get anymore attacking mids in there while you're at it?

We'll win this one then lose the following game at Arsenal, therefore gaining no ground on Liverpool.

Why is everyone posting 4-2-3-1 formations, it won't happen!!

De Gea
Rafael - Vidic - Evans - Evra
Mata - Carrick - Giggs - Young
Rooney - RVP

Why's everyone still posting 4-2-3-1 formations? It's not going to happen, live with it.

Are 2 attacking midfielders too much? In that lineup, Rooney and Januzaj are wingers/wide forwards(think Barca).

I think they could pull it off, if the instructions were to press high and keep running, even when we have possession(!).

I could only see Pep pulling something like that off in a 4-1-4-1 system, but even then both Mata and Kagawa are more attacking then Kroos. Moyes would have no chance of making a system like that work probably.

Please no Valencia or Young.

What I would want to see:

De Gea

Rafael Smalling A_fit_central_defender Evra

Carrick Fletcher

Januzaj Mata Kagawa

RVP/Rooney

The three attacking midfielders to constantly interchange their position and to play more narrow then normal wingers.

What we will probably see:

De Gea

Rafael Smalling A_fit_central_defender Evra

Carrick Fellaini

Valencia Rooney Mata

RVP

4-4-2 with Rooney playing almost as a complete striker, and Valencia to play as a winger. Mata won't play as a traditional winger.[/CENTER]

This bloody game cannot come fast enough. From having a game every 3 days, to waiting 8!. Hopefully the lad's will be ready to fire.

Well... If there was ever a game/opposition for which to save your job...

That's directed at Meulensteen by the way.

Any news on Evans' and Jones' injuries? On top of Vidic being suspended, we could have the dreaded Carrick at CB scenario yet again.

Vidic has served his suspension (missed the Sunderland, Cardiff and Stoke games). I think and hope Evans will be fit for this. We will have a lot of the ball and he would be useful as he can bring the ball up the pitch

Ah great, thanks Dan. Agree on Evans too.

It's not going to be our strongest team out there. It's a Sunday game against relegation fodder, when we have Arsenal on Wednesday. Players are going to be rested for this one, to allow for a stronger team mid-week.

Which means Moyes will play Kagawa, Fletcher, Mata and Januzaj and rest our key players like Young, Valencia and Welbeck for our big game on Wednesday?

Outstanding wit. Have you ever considered stand-up?

Jonny won't be fit but Jones might. Considering how much they've been touted as England's future defence, I'm not even sure if Smalling and Jones have ever played as a CB pairing for us. Hopefully Moyes gives them a go.

Neither did SAF.

What are you talking about? It was already explained to you that the difference is small, the two midfielders will sit deeper and Rooney will combine with the two wider players to create a 4-3-2-1 when we have possession anyway. The issue is which personnel we play in those positions.
