This is setting up a dramatic finish with a late winner...for Swansea.

I know you meant that as a joke but unless Moyes changes something radically I can see it happening. After all it happened last weekend didn't it? This feels all too much like Everton (H).

You're making Shelvey look good. He's the first player I'd be tackling quickly to get him riled up and make him do something stupid.

As much as it sticks in my throat to say this, its clear what we're missing: Fellaini.

If our tactic is simply to sit back and hit long balls forward its clear we need a target. Smacking it forward and hoping for the likes of Welbeck, Januzaj, Kagawa or Valencia to hold off the challenges until the cavalry arrives is hopeful at best. No, this approach needs the good old fashioned big man in the final third to win the knock downs.

Best chest in the league. 'That's what they tell me'.

No were missing a manager that can give this team a playing plan. Look Swansea they're full of shit players but there is obviously a plan in the way they play football.

With Swansea's high line, this game is more suited to Hernandez.

I think it's more suited to Welbeck, but he has to stay more up the pitch. He is really lacking a footballing brain Welbeck, but he has a lot of qualities. Valencia must get of the pitch, he has had a couple of good passes, but in general he is horrible. It's like Swansea is playing with two left backs. No real play what so ever...

Also ppl can feck off with the injuries excuse. Swansea have about as much as we do but look at least as good as us

Utd fans watching this Utd team makes sense but I wonder why fans who aren't competitors (like Sphaero) from other clubs do. I wouldn't watch this team if I was a neutral.

We look better when we have both kagawa and januzaj tucked in, gives us extra options. Think we're lacking some urgency as well, we look better as well when we do press. It's not great atm but Swansea are keeping the ball in some non dangerous areas and are slowing the game right down. It was never go an suddeny turn good, if we can grind out a victory it'll be a good start.

Even against City at the Etihad and Chelsea at the Bridge Swansea had more possession, that's no big deal. It's that when we do get on the ball there's nothing happening. Every now and then you think "Kagawa's doing nothing", but then when you spend the next 5 minutes keeping an eye out for him you see him making himself available for a pass constantly but we're content to pass it around pointlessly.
Yup. He's the only one actually making runs and opening space. When we have the ball you see him open up 3 or 4 times while Carrick dithers on the ball and then just ends up giving it to him where he can't do anything with it. Everyone else just stands still, but people are so quick to put all the blame on him, he's probably the least of our worries right now.

We've had the better of the chances that half. Swansea have had a lot of the ball, but have done feck all with it really. We just need to step up the tempo a bit and get a goal and then settle on the ball.

We do know that defending means more than just standing around the penalty area right? We just let teams pass right up to the point without any pressure on them.
I'm actually seeing the opposite, that's what we used to do, right now we're attempting to press and play high but unfortunately we're absolutely shit at it and it's very easy to play through. I'd love to see Carrick's average position compared to last year, the last few games he looks to be playing much further forward which doesn't suit him at all, he's brilliant at just sitting, reading the game and intercepting, that's his defensive strength.

Our pressing is fecking woeful. When we actually look to try and pressurise for some reason the players just stop 5 yards off the man and just stand there.. Why..fecking why?

Kagawa does it all the time, he'll put in a bit of a shift closing the player down and then just stop and stand there, allowing them to make the pass. It makes no sense.

It's exactly like the players have been told to let Swansea's defenders (and even midfielders at times) just have the ball unopposed. At Old Trafford. We're letting Swansea take control of the ball because we are too scared that they will slice us open if we dare to apply some pressure. fecking mental.

We can talk all day long about the players and some definitely aren't good enough but our system does them no favours whatsoever. Ask ourselves how can Kagawa look so good in a Dortmund shirt and then suddenly turn to shit for us all the while looking brilliant for Japan. Our system only rewards individual brilliance like Adnan's free kick or Rooney providing a moment of magic. Swansea, meanwhile, play so well as a team but lack the level of player to really hurt teams with their play. I'm done criticising players like Kagawa until we see them play in a system that is based around good movement and team play. Unfortunately we don't look like we are doing anything to make this happen. I don't care if this is Moyes' assessment year, watching how badly we have fallen from being champions is unacceptable and it's totally unfair that pulling us up the League is fully on RVP and Rooney's shoulders. Players of that level deserve to play in top class teams and systems. The cold truth also is that Ferguson has to shoulder a lot of this blame too.

They were swapped 30 mins in. Kagawa is playing in the centre.

Yeah I noticed and as soon as he gets the ball he just passes it back again. I noticed that more than a few times.

With the service the others are providing i'm not sure it would matter if we even had RVP out there at the moment. Welbeck is dropping deep because it seems to the only route to getting on the ball.

I honestly don't think zaha can play worse than Valencia has and giggs or cleverley can play better than fletcher has and to be honest I would take kagawa off and bring lingard on we have to change something because if we don't then there is only one winner in this game

This is tumescent shit. I wouldn't mind if there was some evidence of what Moyes is trying to do, or indeed any style to our play, but honestly this is nowhere near top quality. We aren't unlucky, we are mid table quality.

This.

United have no style of play. Its just a flat 4-4-2 and it's boring as a 90 year old hooker.

We're basically rubbish. Really difficult times these.

No. I meant retarded as well as epileptic.

Off-topic. It is a terrible condition to have, and one where I could have died either because of a house fire or by drowning in a bath, if it wasn't for others hearing the noise.

On-topic, we should be ok for the time-being and I think we will break the deadlock in the second half, with Welbeck scoring the eventual winner.

 "The good news for Man United is they are not losing at half time" feck off!

Yeah I noticed and as soon as he gets the ball he just passes it back again. I noticed that more than a few times.

He does do that and it's annoying, but then most of the time it's because there's no other pass on through the middle.

Well we clearly have a plan: Long ball it. Cos that's what we're doing. Its what we have been doing virtually since day one under Moyes. And if Moyes is going to insist on us playing that way we can't have small attackers, as they will never win the aerial duels and hold the ball up til the rest of the team arrives on the counter.

Nobody should be surprised at this football either. Its what Everton done. Yes, they played good passes in the final third but to get there they relied on hitting the ball into Fellaini's chest and running onto the knockdowns. Why we, including me, thought Moyes would abandon that method for a more cultured approach nobody knows. Its clear that under strain Moyes has gone back to what he knows best. Sadly our squad isn't built for that so we need Moyes' £27.5 million man to step into the breach.

Nail on the head.

Good first half. I think we'll smash them nil nil in the second half too.

Bravery in the second half please.

Close them down quickly. Get the ball and attack fast. Runners in behind their defence and force their keeper to do some proper work. Play with some intensity to get everyone fired up.

This is shocking. How can a team that walked the league last season look no better than a bottom half team the following season with no changes of personnel? Moyes seems to have tried every possible selection but we're still crap.

Zero effort or movement from the midfield 2 us the problem. Kagawa dropped inside at the end and we look much better on the ball because he passed and then looked for it again.

Old cliche. "This is where a manager earns his money." Do something please Moyes. Something creative and daring. We need to win this!
