Manchester United POTY awards 2015/2016

Our GK winning POTY 3 years running says everything about the state of our team.

I voted
Player of the year - Martial
Goal of the year - Martial vs Stoke
U21 player of the year - CBJ

POTY: De Gea
U21: CBJ
Goal of the season: Martial vs. Pool is the goal that felt the best, so I voted for that. Martial vs. Stoke looked the best.

I voted:

POTY: De Gea
U21: Bojack
Goal of the season: Martial vs Liverpool

I thought the feeling was that this year it was going to be a bit closer with Martial but De Gea just edging it, I guess he really picked the right time to have his best performance of the year.

De Gea by a mile to get the award. It would be a travesty otherwise.

How did Rooney end up with 2 nominations for goal of the year? Lack of competition?

Because Dave is a cnut and Blind is a class act who's been an ever present and spoiled us with some outrageous passing to go alongside some really solid defensive work. We've kept a lot of clean sheets this season, which he has contributed to.
:confused::wenger:

Not a fan of him as a person. He's only slightly better than Rooney, for me. He wanted out, and not only out, he wanted to join his former club's fierce rivals.

Great goalkeeper and all that. But I have no time for him as a person.

Harsh! Our footballing ambition in the past few years has fallen well below his own personal ambitions yet he has given his all to the team. Do you expect one of the top 3 keepers in the world to stick around not challenging for trophies while we sort our shit out?

It's the fact that he wanted to join the circus that is Real Madrid. He is an ex Atlético player and Academy export at that. I think it was a scummy move.

His bird was in his ear anyway. He could have gotten a move to Barcelona if he really wanted to. He's perfect for them.

Loyalty in football is overrated, United wouldn't think twice about casting him out if he wasn't up to it (a la Memphis at the moment)! I don't think moving to Real would mean he's a bad person, probably wants to get the Spanish # 1 spot and win as much as possible domestically and internationally. The fact he could do that in his home town probably means a lot too.

They should have added Martial's goal against Everton to the shortlist.

It would be like Gerrard joining United in the mid 00's. I don't think it's a great gesture from him. Such is life though.

Player of The Year - De Gea
Goal of The Season - Martial v Liverpool
U-21 Player of The Year - CBJ

Quick question...

This hasn't even taking place yet, Hayley McQueen is saying she has presented it and has a feel for Louis's future.....

Have I missed something?

Goal of The Season - Martial vs Stoke for me. Philosophy at its finest and great strike by Martial.

What did she say in regard to LVG's future?

DDG & CBJ.

Martial vs Liverpool, because of the significance of the moment.

Martial vs Stoke, Rashford vs City not far behind.

I've had a look on the goal of the season category on the official website and...

Some of the goals prefectly sum up what a poor season we've had. Some really normal shoots, really nothing special, or, the funniest thing, Rooney's tap in vs Stoke at home among the goals

Rooney's tap in and Mata goal off a rebound hardly need to qualify.
They wanted to put 2 from Rooney somehow. I would believe of all the 42 goals we scored at least few would have been better than a tap in.
Blind goal against Pool was definitely better than Rooney tap in

Eh, it was the buildup play and team work that makes the Mata goal and Ronney tap-in special.

Not every great goal has to be a 30 yard screamer or bicycle kick.

She's hosted it in previous years, didn't mean that it's already happened this year lol. She obviously worked at the TV station and with Sky will know a few old players and insiders at the club. At the end of the day plans won't change until Mourinho has been officially confirmed. We are having a short trip to Asia and then concentrating on training, so it won't put anybodies plans out too far.

Not voting this year. Atleast last year, those wins against Spurs, City, Liverpool were a great boost. This season from a very broad perspective seems to have ended us going backwards. Less Goals, more losses (Can't verify this for sure). Anyways, the answers are pretty well known. I am just curious to know who will win the Jimmy Murphy young player of the year award.
