Manchester United v Arsenal

we saw the two best sides.

excellent game. both sides knackered.

win the next one and we will win the title I feel.

Well, if that's the second best team, Dreams, we haven't got any problems for the rest of the season.

:) Job done!!

That was a tactically awesome performance. We had a response to their every threat, we worked harder than they did and we took our chance. What more can you ask for?

Exactly, superb game. I do think Arse have stepped up from the last few years, they look quality to me but we had their number all game.

Well well deserved, the best team by a long shot won that match fair and square should have won it 3 or 4 to be honest yet Arsenal never threatened Rio and Vidic dominated their feeble attack, Samir Nasri? did he even play?

Must say though what a bunch of dirty cheating feckers Arsenal are, kick and foul kick and foul all night, disgraceful antics from a club who preach week after week about how unfair the world is allowing them to be tackled.

Ji Sung is now the most over praised unsung hero in the global game.

Lets face it, he's not an unsung hero, he is now justifiably recognised as a consistent performer capable of match winning performances in high profile games against the most illustrious of opposition.

Another one today vs Arsenal would do very nicely.

I am the master. :D:D:D:D:D

Tactically an awesome game. We nailed it. By forcing Arse wide we killed off their tight interchanging where they are so dangerous and byndropping deep early we killed off their counter attack. That for me was the best, most disciplined we havelayed all year, every single player defensively was superb. Fergie got it all exactly right with how he got us to play. Disciplined, patient, composed. Awesome fergie.

Fergie really did outfox Wenger.

But I would not count Arsenal out. They look to be a very improved side.

Wow what a close game all the way. I m ecstatic we came away with the three points. It will be a very tough Chelsea game as well. I just hope we don't lose to them. That will bring them on par with us on points and give them the confidence to start winning again.

So happy, 3 points, Arsenal let themselves down IMO. We could have finished the game so many times. I thought we'd give it away knowing our luck and previous games but we held on thank god. Get in, if we can do Chelsea it would really give us a good lead.

The next one is the most important, win it and we can even start thinking about an unbeaten season.

Well, if that's the second best team, Dreams, we haven't got any problems for the rest of the season.

I said earlier that I thought this match was the best we had played. We got the tactics right. We had all our players doing their part. The midfield was excellent.

I think Arsenal were just not allowed to play to their strengths is all.

Great win, solid performances all over the pitch. The defense was the best it's been all season, midfield did their job well and Rooney was unlucky not to get the goal his performance deserved. Nani was a bit frustrating at times, but he again looked dangerous each time he was on the ball.

Have to say the atmosphere was brilliant at OT.

agree about the atmosphere. I felt if we did have that, like in CL matches, we would have a huge advantage.

excellent day and excellent weekend all round :)

Well, yes...it was a midfield battle. I reckon they took their of eyes off the game due to the physical stuff.

the physical stuff was their way of saying...'heck we cannot win this'

oh btw Mr Peterstorey..Song is NOT miles better than Fletcher...in fact he was made to look pretty darn ordinary and was lucky to be on the field.

take That you gooner. ;)

Kuszczak's debut against Arsenal, not scored penalty, lost 0-1.

Szczesny's debut against United, not scored penalty, lost 0-1.

Also Fabregas coming on was a bad move for Arsenal. He looked so off the pace and just couldn't get going.

I'm happy he's back. When he plays Nasri looks more quiet than usual. If Arsenal play like this against (the out of form) Chelsea also , they'll lose.

I've given myself twenty minutes to calm down after that, so here's the other side of the coin view point.

Firstly, I think United were the better of two sides who played poorly on the night. You played less poorly than we did - I saw very little of Rooney, Nani was wasteful, and I also didn't think Fletcher had a great game at all. Your positives were all defensively, Rafael standing out as a particularly good performance.

Secondly, however, and it has to be mentioned, the performance of the referee this evening was nothing short of appalling. God knows what RAWK made of it. Ferdinand kicked Sagna in the stomach, piercing his shirt, and not even a free kick was given. The Clichy incident was indeed a handball, but how does he avoid it? I don't get how you can give a penalty when a player kicks the ball against the arm of a player who is on the ground. Clever play from Nani, but never a penalty for me. Darren Fletcher should have been booked as well - he ran thirty yards to swear at Webb, and that wasn't deemed dissent, whilst Nasri had a go at him, and was immediately booked. Vidic and Chamakh commit identical fouls - guess which one is booked. His performance was all that I expected, but even worse.

All in all though, I'm just disappointed with how we played as a whole. That wasn't the side that went to City, Villa and Everton. We just had a nightmare as a whole - although defensively we weren't bad at all. Park's goal was a worldie - he won't score another like it in his career, but we didn't come back from that. We can't expect a win from a game in which we didn't create a chance of note.

So yeh, Webb didn't help, and actively sought to ensure we lost the game, but that wasn't good enough on our behalf, and we'll have to improve if we're going to get back in it.
