Manchester United v Arsenal

Well, I'm still totally amazed by Arsenal performance from yesterday.

Firstly, they showed respect. They respect 40-year old van der Sar and they respect three years younger Giggs so much that they decided the best way to show it to them will be not to shot on a goal and not to attack Giggs when he's on the ball, Arsenal should be a role model to many teams. They also showed they have abilities to be calm. Look at Rooney when Nani should have passed that ball to him, he was really angry. Look at Fletcher shouting at referee after some tackles in midfield, he was really angry. Sagna and Song were running happily and sometimes we could even see a smile, but sorry, Sagna after Rio's kung-fu style 'gimme that ball' play showed he doesn't like it in a difference to Kary Perry's kiss. I think they thought it would be unfair to try to win game at other team's stadium. Fabregas? He had 65 mnutes to put his shoes on, but he decided to do it after he came on the pitch and nothing couldn't stop him at it, even Rooney running with the ball towards him or Anderson trying to grab the ball rolling two meters away from him. Nothing. He was looking at his shoelace. Next, as you could see, Arsenal thought they can win that game with higher percentage of ball possesion, how silly is that? Even West Ham and Wigan know that it's good to shot on a goal. Sometimes. Arsenal probably forgot it yesterday, but - fair play to them - someone passed the ball too strong in the first half and they had one shot. Four yellow cards and about ten more fouls than we had - that's the way Arsenal do it.

Nothing new happened, Arsenal lost to United, in two weeks time they'll lose to Chelsea, some time ago they couldn't win at home with Tottenham. The only way to make them happier is to remind them that next summer they'll win Emirates Cup once again.

Arsene's tactics and the way of playing should be an example to many managers, last year Mourinho lost 0-1 to Barca in second leg of Champions League semi-final and that still gave him place in the final. Wenger's 0-1 was much better to watch, so really, well done Arsene.

You said something along the lines of "your pretty football doesn't work." - and I said we don't play pretty football, which is true.

I tell a lie. We do play some majestic football, but in about ten games a season, of which about eight are at home to cannon fodder. Every other game we win is due to resilience and superior quality in most areas of the field. I don't think our football is that aesthetically pleasing if I'm being honest, and it certainly wasn't last night.

Andrey Arshavin and Wojciech Szczesny bemoan 'lucky' Man United
Arsenal's players believe they can recover from Monday’s defeat at Old Trafford, claiming Manchester United were lucky to claim the victory that moved them top of the table.
Ji-sung Park’s remarkable headed first-half winner saw United leapfrog the Gunners into pole position after a typically feisty 1-0 victory.

It is now six games without a win against United for Arsene Wenger’s men and, on December 27, they face a Chelsea side they have lost five *successive times against.

But despite their inability to deliver when it really matters, Arsenal would reclaim top spot with victory at home to Stoke on Saturday as United, who have a match in hand, do not play *until Sunday at Chelsea.

Striker Andrey Arshavin is still feeling upbeat, claiming United had all the luck at Old Trafford.

He said: ‘There is no time to be melancholy or sad. We need to forget this defeat and start thinking about the next match.

'We need to prepare properly for each opponent. The championship is very interesting this year and nothing has been lost yet.

‘We didn’t deserve defeat.
The match was a battle, but we lost.

'Manchester United had more luck than us during the game but we were not able to create anything special near their goal.:wenger: If it wasn’t for a *fortunate bounce at the end of the first half, we would have gone in at 0-0 and the second half would have been easier.’

Wojciech Szczesny also believes Arsenal were unfortunate to lose.

The 20-year-old Pole impressed *after starting ahead of Lukasz Fabianski, who was not risked because of a hip problem.

It was a remarkable show of faith in the youngster, who had previously played just three Carling Cup games.

Szczesny was beaten when Park cleverly nodded Nani’s deflected cross, sending it looping into the *Arsenal’s net.

And he said: ‘Their goal was really lucky.

'I don’t think Park meant to head the ball, it just hit him and went in the top corner.’
