Manchester United v Aston Villa

Might be a good opportunity to try:

De Gea
Rafael Evans Ferdinand Evra
Carrick Scholes
Valencia -- Young --- Nani
Rooney

Don't think it's the time to play around with formations but Hernandez and Welbeck have looked as useful as tits on fish this past month. I don't think playing them has any advantages at the moment. Welbeck has been falling on his arse 10 times a game and Hernandez has barely registered.

Yeah I would rather have Young behind Rooney atm and Nani/Valencia on the flanks like cw1984 posted above.

I thought Welbeck did alright when he came on at Wigan but I wouldn't be adverse to trying Young behind Rooney now Nani is back, I just don't think SAF is going to mess with it at this point of the season.

Hernandez of late has basically played his way into the subs role barring him coming off the bench and scoring hatfuls I think its Welbeck or a formation change for the last few games.

Fargiee you better play Scores or we will lose. Don't play Cuberley.

Don't like playing only one striker at home against a team that's probably going to park the bus.

Code:
                 de Gea

Rafael Evans @RioFerdy5 Evra

           Carrick Scholes
Valencia Young
                        Nani
             Rooney

SUBS:
Amos, Smalling, Jones, Cleverley, Giggs, Welbeck, Hernandez

There's no way in hell Fergie will change a winning formula at this stage in the season, at home, against a very poor Villa side.

I'm not the biggest fan of the 4-4-2 either but it's worked this season and many seasons before it. 2 strikers is needed against 'weaker' opposition at home.

@RioFerdy5? What's going on with this place?

no 4-0 or 5-0 predictions? I think that loss to Wigan put paid to those.

nervous about this one but that's nothing new. will be nervous right up to the point where we, hopefully, clinch our 20th title.

Here's one from that tit at the Telegraph. He had us as 5-0 winners at Wigan, so I guess we are edging towards a nervy 0-0.

John Ley’s prediction: Manchester United 4 Aston Villa 0.

United 0 Villa 4

(5-0 is a bit unrealistic IMO)

This is not an easy game, especially if City win on Saturday. Villa have the fewest losses (after United) away from home in the league.

Team that I would put out:

----------DDG--------
Rafael-Rio-Evans-Fabio
-----Carrick-Scholes----
Valencia-Rooney--Nani
----------Berbatov--------

Won't happen though. More like Welbeck for Berbatov, Evra for Fabio.

Valencia-Carrick-Scholes-Nani
--------Rooney-Welbeck----
3-0 United. Hopefully goals from Welbeck and Rooney.

:nono: You forgot to put in Rooney at left back.

But seriously, I'll go with what Ballache just posted. Would love to see Welbeck break his goalless streak.

The game can't come quick enough. We need an emphatic performance and a result to match.

Hernandez and Welbeck to score a hatrick each, with both having a contender for goal of the season. United to walk it 6-0 without having to rely on Scholes/Rooney Valencia.

Any win will do me. Whether it's 1-0, 3-0 or 6-0.

It won't be decided by GD, it'll be points that wins it.

As long as we get the 3 points, and get ourselves 5 points clear again.

I reli hope sir forgie reach out 2 me nd listen bout this tactics. we must play da ginger shrimp nd cuberley!

Vital game. A big win to boost morale wouldn't go amiss.

DDG

Rafael Rio Evans Evra

Carrick Scholes

Valencia Young Nani

Rooney

I don't particularly want to see Jones, Giggs, Hernandez or Welbeck anywhere near the starting line up for the remainder of the season.

Jones has gone off the boil big style.
Giggs, I don't want to see starting the rest of the season, no harm to him. Chicharito should be used off the bench and that's it.
I think Welbeck's movement and workrate outside the box is very good, but inside the box he turns into a pub player more often than enough.

It's good that Nani's back. Plenty of pace up front please is all I ask for.

Bite the bullet Fergie and bring back Berbatov to partner Rooney. Both Wellbeck and Hernandez have went off the boil.

It really wouldn't surprise me if Berbatov made an appearance tomorrow. I can't see Fergie tolerating much more of the poor performances of Hernandez and Welbeck.

"off the boil" is a idiotic expression people..

If Berba plays tomorrow, it will be a huge shock. He's been off too long to be put to start the game.. Even a place on the bench would be a suprise.

it seems that for some people at this rate that even Berbatov talking would be a huge surprise.

Berbatov coming back now is a waste of time - he's likely to be well short of the required sharpness. Rooney, Young and Valencia should be forming some sort of front three. I'd like Nani in the mix too, but don't see it.
