Ok, well I hope no ones expecting a repeat of last years sintilating Football :(. Any Player involved in International Football this summer Is not travelling to America.

So...

------------Howard----------
Wes?-O'Shea-McShane-Spector-
OGS-Keane-Fletch-Giggs-----
----Johnson*-Smith---------

*- wishful thinking. Most likely to be Diego, if hes still with us.

Diego will be playing Internationals, Bellion is a probable starter, and of the back 4 I'd expect OShea at left back.

I reckon we'll take one or two players that have been playing in the euro competitions, I mean it's hardly going to help us break the USA market if we lose each game 6-0, it's not exactly going to create a good impression.

thats what i was thinking. they're trying to promote the Manchester United brand so they've gotta do something to impress

Decent looking team that !

How about

-----------Howard------------
Phizza--Wes--McSchane--Spector
FLetch--Miller--Keano--Giggs
-------OGS----------------
------------Smith------------

Carroll, Bellion, Richardson, Johnson etc...

I think that most of the team will be there, even players who have played in Euro just to keep fit etc.

I would like to see some young talent like Richardson, Rossi and maybe Pique there. See how good they are in a Utd jersey

I take it that the 6 subs only rule will be in service?

VODAFONE TOURNAMENT

Into August, and United play host to this spectacular competition, bringing together sides from England, Holland and Japan. United will face PSV Eindhoven - Rommadahl, Kesman and all, and Urawa Red Diamonds of the J-League - who've just signed ex-Villa and Turkey international Alpay. Once again, MUTV will be showing all build-up and all the action - all the way.

good news

Fifa scraps subs rule

Fifa has announced that the substitutions rule limiting clubs to only six changes per game will only apply to international friendlies.

Fifa had limited the number after president Sepp Blatter criticised mass changes in international friendlies.

The ruling was passed at a Fifa meeting on 23 February and began on 1 July.

But the rule caused the Fulham-Watford friendly on Saturday to be abandoned at half-time with the referee walking out after the teams put on 27 replacements.

The game was eventually completed as an exhibition match with a linesman taking over as referee, but the FA was suitably concerned to take the matter up with the game's governing body.

After two days of negotiations, the FA has managed to persuade Fifa president Blatter that unlimited substitutions are an essential component of any pre-season campaign.

"The Football Association are delighted to announce that Fifa has agreed to the FA's proposal," said a statement released on the FA's website.

"The FA believed it was in the interests of all parties that clubs be able to use as many substitutes as necessary in pre-season preparation matches.

"As a result, from this point forward, clubs will once again be permitted to make an unlimited number of substitutions in friendlies."

FA chief executive Mark Palios added: "I am delighted that Fifa has listened to our concerns and clarified the situation."

The issue will be formally resolved by the International Football Association Board in September.

Is the match on Sky or any other British or Irish channel?

When is the kick-off?

It's exclusive on MUTV, kick off at 9 pm.

Other 2 USA tour games:

Celtic 01.00 (BST)
AC Milan 19.00 (BST)

I'd start with Eagles on the right, and Ole up front with Smith.

The bog men will probably have their best team out as they lurv beating the english! Main signings are Lucio and Frings (german international although that doesn't seem to be a wanted point on ye olde CV anymore :D )

Right...

------------Howard------------------
Bardsley--Wes--Spector----Phil-----
OGS---Keane---Fletch---Giggs-------
-------Forlan--Smith-----------------

To (hopefully) come on:

Miller
Eagles
Richardson
Pique
Rossi

Forlan can't be there cos he is in Copa America, I think Saha should go, he only had a bit-part appearences for France. O'Shea say yesterday he is still hopeful of going too.

This time next week I'll be being kicked out of some bar in Chicago, heading to my hotel saying... "Yes, can I get an early morning call at 10am and a cab to Soldier Field coz I'm on my way to see UNITED play some crap German team.... Cheers!

From Soccernet.com

With Gary and Phil Neville, Saha, Mikael Silvestre, Paul Scholes, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo all ruled out of the early stages of the trip because of their exertions at this summer's European Championships, it is a mixed blend of youth and experience that will represent United in the opening stage of their packed pre-season programme. :( :( :(

As well as established stars such as Roy Keane and Ryan Giggs, members of the talented youth team squad - Chris Eagles, David Jones and Paul McShane, plus impressive American defender Jonathan Spector were all part of the squad.

(this below is interesting  )

Luke Chadwick and Spanish goalkeeper Ricardo, whose long-term Red Devils' future are also in doubt, were part of Ferguson's squad too.

However, it was the presence of a non-playing member of the United squad that attracted most attention in Terminal Two, as Rio Ferdinand, not due to return from his eight-month ban until September 20, was surrounded by a swarm of autograph hunters.
