Manchester United v Bolton

------------------VDS-------------------

O'shea-----Rio------------Vida-------Evra

------Fletch-----Scholes-----Anderson----
-------------------------Giggs------------

------------Berbatov*-----Owen----------

*If not available then Macheda

despite no longer playing the same kind of head tennis that Big Sam made them played, Bolton are still a team made up of physically players, if we pick our wingers Valencia and Nani, we won't win the aerial battle even if they do manage to get a few balls into the box.
Play through the middle and take them apart, if we play strong good football then they won't stand a chance.

Any chance of Obertan making the bench?

No, he's watching the academy game.

If Berbatov's out I hope we play the following:

VDS

JOS, Rio, Vidic, Evra

Valencia, Anderson, Fletcher, Nani

Giggs, Owen

United should persist with Nani and Valencia in games like this because they need a run in the side to see if they have what it takes to nail down the winger spots. Giggs obviously has to play if fit so with both first choice strikers out he should play central with Owen. Leave Scholes, Macheda and Welbeck on the bench if needed to turn the game.

In a way Berbatov being out would be a useful test of the squad and how good the depth actualy is.

I'd say your team would have a small problem in height, so I"d say Carrick for Anderson.

Is Owen fit?

If there's no Berb then I'd like

PIG
O Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Valencia Fletcher Carrick Nani
Giggs
Owen

Park has clearly fallen down in the pecking order. Nani will start mid-week in the Champions League, still surprised he isn't included though. Good team that is, can't wait.

We certainly can't seem to catch a break when it comes to using our top two centerhalves at the SAME TIME. Oh well, Jonny's the real deal anyway.
