Manchester United v Internazionale

Had a dream about this last night, 2-0 up at half time and Inter down to 10 men. Then i played them at fifa and guess what. Strange. Come on United.

Can't remember to have seen Wolfgang Stark, but my experience is that the German referees are amongst the best.

That's too vurnerable, midfield is too attacking-minded imo.

Agreed, although judging by which players was rested on versus Fulham that midfield might not be far away from what we will see on Wednesday.

not sure about Scholes AND Giggs starting. Think we'll need stiffening up in the middle a bit more. I reckon they'll come at us right from the start and try to get a goal before reverting to type and playing for penalties or praying for a Porto-style freak goal.

not entirely comfortable with the German ref - thye've always been a bit cosy with Eyeties:nervous:

I am absolutely shitting it for wednesday night...:nervous:

Just in case you weren't feeling the same.

VDS
O Shea
Ferdinand
Vida
Evra
Ronaldo
Carrick
Giggs
Park
Berbatov
Rooney

reckon we'll sneak it

That's what i'd go for too although im still undecided who i'd have between Park and Flec.

I have a sneaky feeling that Ronaldo will score his first CL goal this season tomorrow :)

Gazzetto Dello Sport predicts this side from Inter:

Cesar

Maicon - Cordoba - Samuel - Santon

Zanetti - Cambiasso - Vieira

Stankovic - Mancini/Balotelli

Ibrahimovic

Only questionmark is Samuel, who will be replaced by Cambiasso at CB if he's out. Then Muntari will play in midfield.

No matter what I feel quite sure we'll win it if we don't have an off-day, and that seems unlikely at the moment. Tip: 2-0, Rooney and Scholes to score.

Is it true that the Inter squad arrived minus Muntari, cause he forgot his passport?!

Yes, but no drama apparently.

Inter Midfielder Sulley Muntari Misses Plane To Manchester

Inter are preparing for their highly anticipated return-leg against Manchester United in the Champions League, but suffered a slight and avoidable setback when Sulley Ali Muntari forgot his passport, according to ANSA.

The 24-year-old did not realize he had forgotten the documentation and was not able to join the rest of the squad on their flight to England.

However, thankfully for coach Jose Mourinho and the Nerazzurri, the midfielder retrieved his passport and was able to take a later flight, joining his teammates late Monday evening.

The former Udinese and Portsmouth player is expected to be in the starting XI on Wednesday at Old Trafford. The Red Devils earned a 0-0 tie at the San Siro a fortnight ago, meaning the result is still very much in the balance.

Muntari has made 26 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, finding the back of the net twice.

goes without saying but I hope Julio Cesar has an terrible game tomorrow night.
seen him a few times now and he looked pretty good. :nervous:

3-0. Ronaldo to get on the scoresheet.

Hope rooneys got his finishing boots on tomorrow. getting nervous now, so much at stake.

19 and a half hours to go ...

14 hours 13 minutes til kick-off.

Tevez is hot for goals... hoping he starts.

Fergie hasn't played his Jedi mind-tricks on the opposing teams for quite a while. Even though he has announced that Carlos would likely start on the bench... it would be cool to see him kick off the first 30 minutes, then bring on Rooney.

I bet that would throw off The Special One's plans, and would certainly mess with the make-shift central defense of Inter.

come onnnnnnnnn ! hate this nervous pre match feeling...and love it at the same time :devil::devil:

I'm guessing we'll go with Scholes and Carrick in the middle with Nani and Ronaldo on the wings as a more atacking alternative to flecther and park.

Comeonnnnnnn United !!!!!

to be fair I'd rather not see Nani anywhere near the pitch tonight. course now that I've said that he'll score if he plays.

Pfft, only Ronaldo who is goes on the attack in that midfield. Giggs, Scholes and Carrick all lie pretty deep nowadays.

Sitting deep doesn't necessairly mean you got defensive capabilities. Scholes can't tackle, Giggs isn't too good at that either.

Hard to know what team Fergie will play. To be honest it doesnt matter a feck because regardless of Jose trying to be tactical in his approach - it didnt fecking work at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza & i dont see it'll work tonight!

We're far too good for those big mouths - end of story

I just stuck a 10ner on Fergie's horse "what a friend" racing in the 14:40 at Cheltenham. If it comes through I'll put the winnings on a 2-0. And due to your name I'll have Rooney to score first. This omen shit better work...

Pretty sure this will be the team!

Been shitting it all day. Haven't been able to get any work done. If it goes down to the last few minutes, I don't know if i'll be able to take it. We need a two goal lead by half time.
