Manchester United v Manchester City

451....hmmm.

Can't say I'm surprised. Disappointed though. I guess we'll have to go a goal down before SAF decides to revert back to the formation that made us so dangerous in the last 20 minutes at the Eastlands.

Thats what i find so strange, surely the last 20 minutes of last week told us something?? if nothing else it showed how much we could get at them when we were positive, Rooney in those last 20 minutes when he had a partner up there with him looked a different player from the one whod been isolated for the first hour......yet we dont learn and seemingly totaly ignored everything that happened and even with a goal defecit before a balls kicked we set up to pack the midfield, again.....very strange.

Cant help but think the game will be very tight late on and we'll throw on the likes of Berba and co and really go at them but run out of time and be left wondering why oh why didnt we start like it.....

Really wish we'd used 2 strikers, but it's great to see Nani getting a start, he earned it at the weekend.

It is odd that Berba is dropped when potential tough game is to be played in his second season, first season I understood it. He needs games to continue to gel with the team and yet SAF drops him and plays only Rooney up top.
Where is Diouf? Is he injured for real?

Ok SKY Sports are being seriously annoying started with a Tevez segment with him in United colours then rubbing it in the fact he then scored 2 against us last week.

The difference being we would need to hang on for an extra 30 mins in this one if that was the case.

And another difference would be it was BARCA and this is city. Mind you a munch improved City but we shut down Barca over 2 legs.

OK people, please forgive a dumb question to which I ought to know the answer; do away goals count double in this competition?

Away goals never count double in any competition. What sometimes happens, though, is if the teams are level on aggregate, then the team with the most away goal goes through. But they don't count double, and never ever do.

In the League Cup, that manifests itself after extra time. If the aggregate score is level after normal time in both legs, extra time is played. If it's still level after that, then the team with the most away goals goes through.

Personally I think its more of a cover for our defence than anything. I think he's still not confident with our backline.

Their defence hardly looks solid, and our attacking players and midfielders are better than theirs. Plus we're at home.

If he's not confident we can get the better of them just playing to our strengths then that hardly seems healthy.

Anyway, I'm off.

We'd better fecking win.

Thanks. Oh, and I was just using that expression which seems quite common. Of course it's not double, but it sums it up neatly.

Cant say im too happy about 4-5-1 again, its not worked so far this season in the big games would have liked to see valencia for scholes and berba for giggs in a 4-4-2.nevermind, nani's due another good game and vida on the bench! IN fergie we trust.

Come on utd!!!!!!!!!!
wanna see tevez face when we beat em !

I'm over it just typical of SKY these days toward us thats all, so here to us stuffing them and seeing what they say then

Yeah I know mate, but ask a supporter of any club and they'll say the same, the ones who don't complain about being ignored by the media, sensitive souls us football fans ... The media needs stories, as there is only a few winners each season they need as many 'losers' as possible to make stories, they prey on all clubs, they are cnuts no doubt, but they don't discriminate in my opinion.

I am trying to think about what's the rationale behind SAF's choice for Wayne on his own but I can't see one. We need a goal, Wayne has clearly shown that he plays wonderfully when paired with another striker so this is really weird and frustrating.

It looks like weve simply tried to match up with citys 3 in midfield thats all i can assume....given the fact we start this match behind its baffling really.

Terry Venables looks like he's fallen face first into a bucket of orange paint.

fecking hell!!!

why does saf keep on playing rooney alone when its been proved he's shite alone.

Oh we surely do have the power and talent in midfield to match them even while maintaining two strikers upfront.
