I haven't read the whole thread so this may have already been suggested but I think he needs to use Fellaini where he used him so effectively for Everton. Just for this game if needs be. He is not working in the middle of the park so he will be no great loss but stick him up front where he can win the knock downs for Rooney, Wellbeck and Januzaj and I think it could work. RVP doesn't want to be there so feck him.

De Gea
Rafael Smalling Evans Evra
Carrick Fletcher
Januzah Rooney Wellbeck
Fellaini

Or swap Rooney & Fellaini around.

Bear in mind I don't want you to win of course but it would be a punt. It could be his last game in charge so he may as well do what he's comfortable with.

He's a scouser, who has a point and is smug about it....Christ we really have swapped places

We would have better chance of going through if all 11 players got onto the pitch and then just got on their knees, start crying and beg the Olympiacos players to let us win. Moyes would be hailed as a great tactician!

I'm at a point where Young, Valencia or Cleverley in the starting line-up don't bother me any more. We've played boring football even with the Fab Four so the problem in not really personnel related. Just hoping to see a semblance of a plan on the field, some pride for the badge, and a bit of heart.

Have a feeling we'll win but Olympiakos will go through on away goals. Probably last CL match in a while and Giggs' last chance for a European appearance. Win it for Giggsy !

Watching United is truly a chore nowadays. Used to be a distraction from work-now it's worse than work. Can't wait to see what surprises are in store for us tomorrow night.

There will be a mass exodus 10 minutes before the end. The Stretford End will chant defiantly, there will be a few boos and Moyesey will think he's safe.

Having overturned that early deficit to finally win 2-1 but go out 3-2 on aggregate, Moyes will be able to say in the presser that we were unlucky. We got the win we were looking for but paid for our away form. This would be the start of a good run for us.

Get thrashed by city 6 days later.

Valencia - Cleverley - Giggs - Young.
-------------------Rooney--------------
------------------Welbeck--------------

I think Kagawa will come in for Mata and one of Welbeck, Young and Valencia to replace Januzaj. Outside of that I don't see much changing. I'm heading over this and I can't say I'm looking forward to it at all.

might as well get creative, this is a 3-5-2 really, with jones in defence but able to push out more when we have the ball

................................de gea...........................

......................smalling...jones.....vidic......................

valencia..........................................................evra

.....................carrick............kagawa.......................
...............................rooney...............................

.........................welbeck.....van persie...................

balls to the wall and at least go out with a bit of fun. 4-3.

really though a sensible line up including kagawa and van persie and i think the best we can hope is 2-0 and leave it up to the gods.

Look at our first half. All you need is one good half like that and already you would be leveling the tie, and Gala are arguably a better side than Olympiakos as well. Got a feeling you'll muster something from somewhere and win 3-0 or something more. I'll be supporting United again tomorrow to see more English teams through.

We will concede, it's almost inevitable but even a rousing 4-1 home win won't be enough to win the manager any support back. I imagine him celebrating like World Cup winner should we somehow come through this tie, the reality is, that's the least we expect from this club.

You've forgotten the bit where Chelsea are an actual good side being led by an actual good manager. These things aren't currently relevant to us.

Have you watched us this season? I'm almost 100% certain that we'll concede at some point. If not in the final minutes, well then in the first minute. I have no faith in us winning 3-0 or more.

I have never been one to say the result doesn't matter, it's about the performance. It's bullshit, football is about winning to me, if you can perform well, that's a nice bonus. However, I changing my opinion for this game. I have already conceded that we are not going through. All I want to see though is some drive, some passion, a tactical plan from Moyes and us attack at Olympiakos. If we can't do those, my patience with Moyes will have finally run out.

Olympiakos have a terrible record in England, so in theory there is a good chance of turning it round. I don't think the result of the tie is a foregone conclusion yet.

Dunno why, I'm strangely confident we'll go through. I have no real justification for this other than it seems like the sort of thing that would happen. One of these days having all that attacking talent on the pitch has to work, right...?

If we don't at least win the match on the night it will be a really poor show.

The most positive scenario for me would be to scrape our way through this one and then get Chelsea in the next round. I think most of the other sides would give us a hiding but against a Mourinho side it could be a bit tighter and maybe we could luck in somehow with Hernandez scoring one of his trademark 2 yarders. Maybe if Moyes had a result like that behind him things could improve.

That's the dream for now.

I think Moyes will play Rooney on the left or in midfield and put Kagawa behind Van Persie.

Moyes needs to grow a pair and make a tough decision like that.

"Wayne, I'm the boss, you are on the left, don't like it? we'll put you on the bench, you've penned a new deal, which means you no longer have 12 months on your contract going for the cheap in the summer, meaning I can sell you for £40M if I like, do what I ask, this is where you are playing deal with it."

Even though I feel like I've been through this process far too many times already this season, I'm once again filled with hope and optimism about this match. Surely we have one big performance in us.

If we're let down once again, with a below-par performance and a lack of fight, desire and attacking intent, then it'll be the first time I'll begin to seriously consider Moyes position.

Why would he do that ? What would make him suddenly try Rooney on the left ?
I think we can score the goals (if the strikers are on a good day) but I really a lot about the defending. If Olympiakos scores a goal then it's over.
I honestly don't think this team is capable of turning the situation around but I'll be watching in hope.

Feck! Not sure what to think tbh. Of course would love to win and progress but can't see it happening.
Sigh.
What happened our mojo?

I think we can and will overturn this lot. They're brave in front of their screaming hordes but can sh*t themselves when put under pressure away from home. For all their bravado talking about coming here and attacking us it'll be a completely different story on the pitch and if we can get an early goal they could lose it completely.

I've put money on us going through.

Its not just about the result at this moment of time though I agree. I want to see players giving a shyte and showing passion and desire to win and make us feel like they're really up for this one. I'll be much much happier and proud of the team if we have a go at them from the start and throw wave after wave of attacks even if we don't go through.

Looking forward to this.Think we will win tonight, but won't be enough to take us through.Seriously hope I'm wrong.

Well as long as we try ;)

I would like to see us win, I really hope we win but I just don't think we are good enough at the moment. Hopefully I am proved wrong tonight though!

No excitement from me regarding this game which is as devastating as our results this season. I just have no hope, even if we somehow qualify it'll be by a fluke and we will get absolutely battered in the next round.
