David Moyes speaks! “We have to try to control the game before we attempt to score a goal ... We’re capable of scoring twice in the last ten minutes if we have to, but of course we’d like to score one before that ... We’re going to try to score an early goal.”

What is it that moyes says in the pre match interview? Talking about overcoming the deficit with some confidence? No. Saying "we don't want to lose the match on the counter". You just can't change somebody who is like that. Always thinking about what they will do rather then what we can do to them. Impossibly negative mindset that won't ever work at a top team.

Had to laugh! even signs are against us haha!

Isn't there something strange that in the game that may define his career at Unted he selects in midfield a 40 year old ex-winger cum legend rather than the midfield player he managed for several years at Everton and then spent 27 million pounds on? I predict a win tonight but an aggregate loss.

cum legend

Would anyone care to sum up what was said by Carragher, Neville and Redknapp?

We are fecking Man United at OT, we should be in control of the game from minute 1!

Very strange. Almost as strange that it looks evident the formation and tactical approach will simply ape what's failed in previous months. There's only so long you can watch someone run into a brick wall before you lose all sympathy for their injuries.

How many times have we scored a single goal in the last 10 minute this season so far?

I hope he's not said that to his players, he should have them revved up from minute one believing they can win and smash these feckers.

wait what ?

Dionysus is wasted out wide.
They've got pace on the wing with Hermes, I see Dionysus having a free role possibly playing ahead of the midfield. Ares will dominate against a 40 year old Giggs :nervous:

I don't know why I feel this way and I can't even begin to explain why I feel like this but the buildup to this game feels a bit like a horror story. The way the media are reporting it, the mysterious board meeting earlier, the Glazers being present for the match, a sense of inevitable fatality to the main protagonist. I don't know why but Dracula is coming to mind, maybe it's because of the Glazers being here. Blood sucking leeches or something?

We're dull, boring, Carragher shocked at how we surrendered to Liverpool, Moyes needs to change things and quickly according to Neville. Carragher saying questions should be asked about his job

"Erm"
"Passion"
"Literally"

I thought the same, I didn't expect him to say our football is dull and that Moyes need to change things quickly. Makes me wonder if his job is actually on the contrary to what moyes said previously.

'Very quickly' could mean anything though. There's little point in him changing anything if we go out tonight, as we've absolutely nothing to play for and as Moyes said himself, his job is completely safe. I'm convinced he's being given another season.

Just going to try and enjoy this game, could be another 3 or 4 years until we're back at this stage.

I assume there was a meltdown when the teams were announced? Well at least Giggs is out from the wild, he'll be one of the few up for it. I can't be arsed repeating the same things about Kagawa and Valencia.

God I'd love to see Mata in this game, suspicious feeling the pace of the game is going to be absurdly slow and Mata would give us some quality. Hope to see Januzaj too if that ends up being the case

I don't know, I was just slightly shocked to hear Gary say that tbh.

Un-fecking-real. I'd rather he play hungry players than people like RVP who at the moment are out of form and look like they don't give a shit.

I can't blame the players. Okay RVP is poor lately but as is the whole side. If one player or two players play below the standard of the others - blame the players. If the whole team under performs there's only one man who deserves blame.

If only Evra spent less time doing promos for feckin Sky and more time on the training ground and watching some of his horrendous performances this season.

What does that even mean "we have to try to control the game before we attempt to score a goal" ? It really sounds dumb when you think about it.

That team looks like it has the potential to be very exposed IMO. If it's a 4-4-2 with that midfield and Ferdinand in defence, then there is a serious lack of pace in the spine of the team, let alone the fact the defence will be deep. I'm just afraid they will run through us on the counter. I hope I'm wrong though.

Nice to see Sky pay us the respect of only having two scousers on the panel tonight - Souness must be busy night (unless he's commentating?)

No point talking about Mata for this game though, certainly would love to see Januzaj on early in the 2nd half since he is not starting.
