Manchester United v Stoke City

To me Gibson will be fine if he sits in front of the back 4 and doesn't try to push up too much and have Fletcher do that. Gibson is to slow to make up ground if he gets caught out of position.

He certainly can pass the ball, the question is will he and will he do it quick enough to have an impact or just dally like tends to do.

Fletcher has pretty good eye for the pass though this season his form has dropped. Think too many people have bought into the whole he is a harrier, fouler, energy player. Last season his pass to Giggs is what created the goal for Berbatov (the game Nani got taken off and everyone was on his back about being crap).

I am a bit pessimistic but, that is mostly drowned out by the fact that most players will step up when called up on - hopefully this is the day Gibbo does it.

Is it just me but whenever we play dirty sides like Stoke I fear for our players - cnutish tackles.

I'm a bit less confident now I've seen the lineup considering I bunged 20 quid on united

Well they are a really physically team. But I don't think we have to worry about our players. Come on, its not like they break a player's leg every week.

Fletcher and Gibbo I don't like in the center. They just don't match. Overall it's a pretty strong team. Should be enough.

Our chance might be that if Fletch and Gibson protect the back four very well, the other 4 attackers can really roam forward

Nani's 100th United start tonight I believe, and Evra's 200th.

I don't like Gibson in a midfield two. Hope he does well but I'm not too expectant.

Gibbo needs to get his sights in early, Chicharito will thrive off of palmed away saves and deflections.

My concerns - central midfield - have Fletcher and Gibbo ever played together as a midfield two?

Our fullbacks are short I can see a great deal of deep crosses to deal with Stoke long ball game. I would have played - Evans, oshea, or Brown in fullback to add some height.

Decent team. Glad to see Nani back that's for sure.

Anyone got a decent stream lined up and wouldn't mind giving us a PM please? :)

Just booted up what is supposed to be a Fox Soccer stream to get it running before the game starts, and there's a very fast speaking Spanish dude talking about what looks like fishing :nervous:

Shame that Anderson's being rested (although I think he's dropped off the last couple of games so probably does need it). He looks for through balls far more often than any of our other midfielders, which is exactly the kind of service Hernandez needs more of to really get the full benefit of his pace and movement.

Yeah half the streams don't exactly show the pre-game show and stuff. But they will start correctly for kickoff. So be patient.

Think I'll have a cheeky tenner on Gibson to score @ 5/1.

Not bad odds that. I'm by no means Gibson's biggest fan, but he does get himself into scoring positions, and we should hopefully create plenty chances tonight.

Back to this ridiculously spastic habbit of deliberately picking weak line ups and then wondering why we don't play well, then.

No way that midfield is going to work.
