Manchester United v Sunderland AFC

Nice to see another clean sheet again - three points, that's what counts. I would like to see the other teams cope with the amount of injuries we are dealing with at the moment and still come out on top.

Now, come on, QPR, whack us a favour, will you! :)

First half was dire, second half was acceptable by our current standards.

Rooney was our best player; he outperformed all the others who were playing in their own positions.

I wonder what Hernández has to do (or not do) to get taken off. He should have been off when Carrick came on, not Park.

can I just said the linesman nearly cost us the win, wtf was he thinking of pointing to the penalty spot?

Boring game, but three points and clean sheet made me happy.

Hopefully our form will be much better after international break.

Comfortable really, would have been nice to have got second but Sunderland only really had two chances to score. Hopefully we come out of the international break fresh and invigorated.

Much improved second half. Should see Cleverley back next time, and a better shape

To be fair I thought we were quite good in the second half, it's just our action in the box that was missing a bit. But we were much better with keeping the ball and passing accurately, which has been my main complaint of recent games.

Good 2nd half. could have had another 1. fairly comfortable victory really. they never looked like scoring.

it never was comfortable....we had them come at us. they were unlucky.

I thought they had a penalty...silly going up with your arms up....

Rio and Vida battened down the hatches, they had a couple of chances. They didn't once get through us and Lindegaard barely had a save to make, Sunderland had the ball but they couldn't do anything with it. Comfortable.

Sunderland were good.
Good work rate, did better than I expected
Shame about the Whickham injury. Had a look at the upcoming fixtures. Expect them to put together a decent run

I thought our second half was quite good and we played at a good tempo for most of the half. Should have just started the match with Welberito upfront though instead of putting him out wide.

A one-goal lead is never comfortable, even with the best defensive performance a deflected shot or a ricocheting corner could end up in the back of the net in the 93rd minute.

It was a deserved win but hardly a comfortable one.

It was as comfortable a one nil as you'll ever see.

was it comfortable when that penalty incident occur, on another day if it was given and they scored, we would have dropped 2 points, we really need to go for the kill.

It was never a penalty incident, the linesman was just trying to make the game seem more interesting than it actually was.

Yes, but that's a bit like saying that Revenge of the Sith was as good a prequel Star Wars movie as you'll ever see. Even though that's true, it was still nowhere near good...

that was never a pen. and we did go for the 2nd goal and if not for a cracking double save, it'd have been 2-0. It was only in the last 8-10mins that we settled for the 1-0.

was very comfortable tbh.

Insipid game with one of the worst first halfs we have played in years. Absolutely pedestrian at times. Of course people will say the points are all that matters but after that thrashing we've gone into our shell a bit.

The international break might do us some good because the way we are playing we'll come unstuck against a decent team. There needs to be more sharpness and fluidity in our play. The crosses have to be better, and the strikers need better service.

Three points and a clean sheet, but it was a dire performance for most of the 90 minutes.

What penalty incident?

That's not true, we were poor at Stoke, against Norwich and against Basel as well. Our below par form predates the City game.

The Sunderland player was absolutely silly going in with his arms up.

They were only unlucky in the fact that they didn't have the ability to test us in front of goal.
