Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

1636: Team news: A bit of call my bluff from Sir Alex Ferguson and Harry Redknapp ahead of the Man Utd-Spurs FA Cup tie was it? Both hinted at reserve teams, but while Manchester United field nine full internationals, Spurs make just three changes from the side that limped past Burnley in the League Cup on Wednesday. Fabio da Silva makes his United debut, while Vedran Corluka, Gareth Bale and Roman Pavlyuchenko replace Jonathan Woodgate, Jamie O'Hara and Jermain Defoe for Tottenham.

Team is rolling on MUTV - and it says Bentley
Yup, Bentley, not Lennon

Alnwick, Gunter, Assou-Ekotto, Corluka, Dawson, Bentley, Huddlestone, Zokora, Bale, Modric, Pavlyuchenko.

Subs: Gomes, Gilberto, Giovani, Taarabt, Defoe, Rocha, Dervite.

Fergie never did that. And all the injured players really are out.

Bent is one of their few fit players and he's not even on the bench??? Well that's the end of his time at Spurs!

Also surprised that Giovanni didn't make the starting 11 given Harry's desire to rest players.

I want all of you to watch Modric closely and tell me that hes better than Fabregas after the game.

Im sure those who have said otherwise would have watched them both to form their opinnions.

You talk nonsense a lot, modric is no way better, its not even up for debate

Too bad Bale is playing on the wing rather than left back, I reckon he can cause us a bit of a problem. Though that all depends on how he manages without all the space left for him when he's attacking from the back.

Looking forward to this, glad both teams are as strong as they are.

It could be Fabio c Spurs and the job would be done.

Viva Fabiooooo Viva Fabbbiiioooo

Running down the wing, with your brother twin

Viva Fabiooo

Crap, I know

Weakest team eh.
Harry playing silly games I suppose.

Still, no Gomes, Woodgate, King and Lennon, and Palacios not eligible - so that's at least 5 players short of what's now probably our strongest line-up in a 4-5-1 formation.

I hope Taarabt and Dos Santos get a chance to play.

Anyhow, I'm off to watch it on TV. May the best team on the day win.

I like that Spuds line-up, it's got no pace & only one up front. Hopefully we'll be 3 up by half time & give Tosic a run out second half!

Fergie will prob play Fletch-Nev-Vida-O'Shea on tuesday and that's why Neville and Vida play together.

FabiooibaF

Carrick & Scholes in the midfield

Hopefully, they play to their ability, and we can address the frustrating lack of creativity from the midfield in recent times.

Also good luck to Fabio. Hope he does not get exposed defensively.

Great to see Fabio on the team sheet. It does seem very odd though for Fergie to play Berbatov, Tevez, Ronaldo and Welbeck. Maybe Tosic just hasn't bulked up enough yet.

is it just me or is this game on itv AND setanta?

which one is better? :nervous:

I wouldn't have played both Berbatov and Tevez. Can't afford any injuries. The West Brom game is more important.

Bit worried for Fabio. Just glad he's not up against Lennon as he might have gotten destroyed. I'd worry that he'll try and get forward too much to try and make an impact like his brother has.

We'd be better off getting knocked out today. We're already stretched too thin to handle a long Cup run. Football being football we'll probably go to a replay after all the stuff about Fergie trying to "exploit" the rules.

The likes of Dawson, Huddlestone, Zokora, Bentley, Bale, Modric and Pavlychenko must be shitting themselves after what Redknapp said. Suppose they'll start searching for new clubs after the game.

ITV, but Setanta is worth the watch after i guess for Special1 T.V

strange, I just flicked to Setanta2 to see their coverage (ITV have a break) and it says: 'This programme is not available'

Reaching the Carling Cup Final is enough of an effort in the domestic cups. But just look at the cost of that as regards injuries. Yet more games in the FA Cup just increases the chances of more injuries, more tiredness, more fixture congestion and hurts our chances of winning the league.
