Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

Are you lot having a laugh!? Fergie will never play 4-4-2 in this one!

4-5-1 all the way:

---------------------------------VDS--------------------------------
-Neville------------Evans-------------------Vidic----------------Evra-
----------------Fletcher-------------------Carrick--------------------
-------------------------------Scholes-------------------------------
Valencia-------------------------------------------------------Nani---
--------------------------------Rooney-------------------------------

This is the Spurs team I'd like to see:

------------- Gomes -----
Corluka - Dawson - King - Bale
Lennon - Palacios - Huddlestone - Modric
----- Defoe - Pavlyuchenko

However, if he's fit then I doubt Lennon will start because he won't be match fit - more likely to come on in the 2nd half as an impact sub if needed ... so probably Bentley.

Nah ... it's going to be spinach, like Popeye just before he takes on Brutus.

Spinach doesn't actually do much aside from give you the shits.

But I hope we're strong to the finish. . .

We played 4-4-2 away to spurs and won 3-1 back in september.......we played 4-4-2 against spurs at OT in the carling cup with a reserve side and won 2-0.......we will play 4-4-2 on saturday unless one of Berbatov or Rooney gets injured......and please no Carrick anywhere near the team.

Id be shocked if we played a 5 man midfield at home to spurs....wont happen.

Fair enough, but on current form, and based on Sir Alex's selection over the last few months in the bigger games, I'd place my money on 4-5-1.

Obviously I'd prefer 4-4-2 though. We should take this lot to the cleaners if we attack them.

If this were away from home, at this stage of the season id probably agree with you that wed maybe go 4-5-1 given recent selections, but i think with it being at home and with Rooney probably not 100% fit he'll need some support up there add to the fact its must win game i think we'll go at spurs 4-4-2, remember most of the time in those big games you refer to our opponents often line up with 3 in the middle so we feel the need to match up so we dont lose the battle in there, Spurs will go 4-4-2 against us so this wont be an issue.

Evans will do a great job if Rio's unfit.

Nevile or Rafael will be interesting. Hope Nani starts too. Cant bear another 90 minutes of pointless Giggs flicks.

You're an ungrateful little imp, aren't you? You are aware that Giggs is a moderately good footballer who is going to come into form at some point, aren't you?

I m just happy its a home game for us. The atmosphere at White Hart Lane has been cracking over the last couple of games. Its still not going to be a walk in the park for us. We might struggle to beat them.

He's got 3 games to come into form after being out. It makes more sense to play Nani than hoping Giggs plays better than he has the last several matches after injury. I'd also like to see Rafael play. I think he could do pretty well going forward and defending.

Because we're at home I think we will do well in this game. Were it at White Heart Lane I could see us dropping a few points. I'm going with 3-1 United. Rooney and Berba to get on the scoresheet.

Tell them you're looking at two men kissing for crying out loud.

Tell the kids two men are kissing...

If I posted a picture of those retards from Twilight sharing a snog that wouldn't be NSFW. And Scholesy and Nevs love runs deeper than that obviously.

There's a reason the movies are rated. I haven't seen Twilight, but I think it's rated pg-13.
When you grow up and have kids on your own you will understand

When i grow up and have kids, presuming I can con a woman into such a deal, I'll understand that two men shouldn't kiss?

This is ridiculous and possibly should be done in CE, with shouts of "preach it girlfriend" and the occasion kick off, Jerry style.

You will understand that those are not suitable for kids of a very young age...why do I bother

Are you serious? Two men kissing? 6-11 years olds behind me are asking what am I looking at. The parents are giving me the look...

Does that mean that Deal or no Deal is rated PG+?

After all, they do have the 1p kiss and sometimes (don't say it out loud) but men kiss one another!!! :nervous:

almost same team that won against bayern...

----------VDS

Rafael----Rio--Vidic----Evra

Fletcher--Scholes---Carrick

Valencia-----------Nani

---------Rooney

ANOTHER lunch time kick off??? this is getting ridiculous!

Anyway, the team:

Van Der Sar

Rafael
Vidic
Evans
Evra

Valencia
Fletcher
Scholes
Nani

Berbatov
Rooney

We have three games left, ALL massive games at this stage, and you think Fergie will play 2 up front from the start? (BTW, it is a genuine question and not a "Are you mad?" statement). For me, Berbatov does NOT start.

The best way to contain Spurs in midfield is to compress the space in the middle and let Valencia and Nani/Park do their stuff out wide. Even if Valencia spends most of his time helping out the right-back against Bale, that'd still leave the left wing as a good attacking area for Evra and Nani/Park (against Bentley and Kaboul, I fancy us on that side).

Agree that Giggs was rather disappointing against City and the flicks were doing my head in big time.

Naah. Unlike other top teams, which play 5 in midfield, Tottenham play 4, allowing us to play 4 there and put Rooney and Berbatov upfront.

You'll see exactly the same strategy that we used to dismantle them at WHL. If Palacios and Huddlestone play center, you can see the lack of mobility and the errant clumsiness of both players to cost them against a more skillful central midfielder like Scholes or Giggs.

We'll see Park start left to help nullify Lennon. Scholes and Fletcher through center.

If Berbatov doesn't start this one, I'll know how much SAF still rates him.

----------VDS-------------

Neville----Rio--------Vidic----------Evra

Valencia---Fletcher---Scholes---Nani

---------Rooney---Berbatov----------

This is undoubtedly the toughest game out of our three remaining fixtures. And a result over Spurs will be huge for us. Hopefully we will do it.

2-0 defeat

Spurs are really good, better than any team we've faced in fact

----------VDS-------------

Neville----Rio--------Vidic----------Evra

Valencia---Fletcher---Scholes---Carrick

---------Rooney---Berbatov----------

Carrick on the left? Hopefully you meant Nani (or Giggs).

Otherwise that's the team I expect on Saturday.

WTF!

Another feckin early kick off!!! What's that... 5 in a row?

This is stoopid.

Our players don't perform when you they play that early, it's shit.
