Manchester United v West Ham United

every team he ever selects is selected to win a particular game

But City was a bigger game than Villa IMO for other reasons

34 years and all that

they have looked average at best since

Completely agree mate, but the point still stands. I can't see Fergie resting any of our top players (with the possible exception of Evra if he gets the chance) given that we don't have a game within in the week after the final.

Ya I'd be in agreement on that one

Also, having a cup, no matter how prestigious, in the tank in February is handy considering how difficult it will be to win the other two

It won't harm our confidence and after the way Villa played against us two weeks ago i hope we tonk them

I reckon Anderson will get the start hopefully United play well and win

He did it last season against Tottenham. It's the perfect chance to see how the likes of Anderson and Gibson are progressing, and who knows maybe they could cope with the pace of the final a bit better than a worn out Carrick and Fletcher. Clearly as shown by the Everton game, some of United's top players just don't have the stamina for three games a week. Villa's squad would be a lot more streched if they didn't get knocked out of Europe early.

There's an international week in between so the players won't get any rest. Even Kuszczak, DeLaet, Gibson, Corry Evans, Foster, Macheda and Diouf might have to play in these games.

Ah crap, I hadn't realised that and yes, that makes a difference.

Just looking at the callups so far.

Senior Internationals: Not all squads confirmed, what is confirmed is that we could see Kuszczak vs. Berbatov in the Poland/Bulgaria game as both have been called up, Gibson vs. Anderson in the Emirates isn't going to happen as Anderson fails to make the Brazil squad, but Gibson makes the Irish one. There are call ups for Fletcher (home to Euro '12 qualifying rivals Czech Republic) and for Evans (away to Albania in Tblisi).

France might call up Evra, England could callup Ferdinand, Brown, Carrick, Rooney, Foster, Neville or Owen for the game against Egypt, Diouf possibly may face Greece in Greece. Algeria play host to Serbia who could call up Vidic and The Ivory Coast host South Korea, who could call up Park. It looks like Valencia gets the week off as does Anderson who wasn't called up for Brazil. Nani's Portugal play The People's Republic of China at home but his callup hasn't been confirmed either.

Junior Internationals - Smalling and Welbeck have been called up for England U21 match against Greece not very relevant I know ... Magnus Wolff Eikrem for Norway's U21 friendly against Cyprus U21. Ritchie DeLaet has I think been called up for Belguim U21, Obertan will probably be called up for the game against Croatia. Pogba will probably be on Algarve duty with French U17's too. Cathcart and Corry Evans might be travelling to San Marino to play.

Van der Sar, the da Silvas, Anderson, Valencia, Paul Scholes, Rodrigo Possebon and probably Neville and Owen, maybe Macheda back at a strech

Van der Sar

Rafael Gill G. Neville Fabio

Valencia Scholes Possebon Anderson

Owen Macheda

being the freshest side United could probably play vs. Wolves at home, the Premier League would have a feild day. :(

its been a shitty start to the week ..

please make the rest of it bearable ..

I think SAF will squeeze Rio, Vidic and Ando into this fixture. They need the game time and since we playing at home it worth taking the risk. I think we will win comfortably with Berbatov and Rooney bagging goals.

Berbatov to get into double figures today? I guess so. Wouldn't be surprised if we beat them by quite a large margin; West Ham are poor overall and we usually take advantage of this at home against teams from the bottom of the table this season. Fancy each of Berbatov & Rooney to score at least once and lead us to much needed three points.

I've been critical of Anderson in the past but think he should come into the side tonight. It's up to him to make his mark and with some big games coming up, he'll need a couple of "softer" ones to bed him in before the action gets tough. An in form Anderson would be an excellent boost. You'd think he'd be up for it.

Suppose it's good to have a game so soon after a defeat to get back to winning ways. West Ham are on the up but shouldn't go away with anything. Should be a good game for Vidic to come back into. Ferdinand is back from suspension too.

Van der Sar
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Valencia Fletcher Scholes Park
Rooney Berbatov

Is it so difficult to put the time and date of the match in the thread title?

---Brown---------Vidic------Rio-----------Evans---

--Park--------Anderson----Scholes-------D.Welbeck-

--------------Diouf-------Berbatov---------------

Welbeck is on loan, Delaet is injured and King isnt in the squad.

22 players - they've just named everyone that isn't injured or suspended and even that Fabio is injured as far as I know.

Anyone know if they're will be lots of streams about for this or will it be one of those thats impossible to get?

I'm contemplating going to the gym to avoid the score and then watching the sky extened hightlights @ 10.15. I hate pissing about with streams.

I hope Anderson is involved tonight, in my opinion, the time is right to bring him back in, hopefully he will be, as I would want him playing against AC Milan

In the US it's being shown on Setanta so am guessing there should be streams - usually heard that one gets picked up some how.

No Welbeck in the squad, I'd probably say take your pick of Fletcher, Valencia and Obertan in a wide position, maybe Gibson at a strech.

Interesting call with the keeper ... We've seen a bit of keeper rotation on the bench very recently between Foster and Kusczcak, I do feel that if Foster were to play this game, Kuszczak would get the final, which to be fair he probably deserves, and then we'll probably see Foster back on the bench for Wolves giving Kuszczak a break after his journey to play against Bulgaria and dealing with Berbatov.

van der Sar
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Fábio
Valencia Fletcher Anderson Evra
Berbatov Rooney

Could be interesting... But:

van der Sar
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Valencia Fletcher Scholes Anderson
Berbatov Rooney
--
Kuszczak; Brown, Evans; Carrick, Obertan; Owen, Diouf

2-0

Berbatime.

I would rest Rooney and Evta tonight.

Van Der Sar
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Fábio
Valencia Fletcher Anderson Park
Berbatov Owen

Just settling in for an afternoon of all United. What a pleasure.
No idea what the line up will be.
Decent stream?
Lineups....?
3-0 United O.G. 24, 89, 90

Let's hope Rio/Vidic combination plays in this match just to get some match fitness back.
