I just hope someone knows for sure because i remember a couple of years back Newcastle didnt play Bowyer due to them thinking he was suspended only to find out when they thought he was ok to come back that his suspension did infact start then - if you get me meaning :nervous:
 
They sped up the disciplinary process at the start of the season I believe, so the bans are for the next game UNLESS the cards are appealed, in which case theres a time limit of a few days or something, best of my knowledge. Seems to make sense as I do believe Scholes and Vidic are banned for the Wigan game, yet Barton has appealed his red card and so because the next fixture is only a few days later, he can play. Obviously you can't appeal the 5 yellow cards rule, so that option isn't available.

Better be careful, judging by the treatment Bury have had recently for accidently fielding a player who didn't have permission to play, and being booted out of teh cup pending appeal, they might kick us out of football for 10 years if we played Vidic and Scholes?! The FA are a complete bunch of muppets. Leeds do something similar to Bury and get a measily fine of something like a grand.
 
Just to add to the argument that both are suspended is that the bbc (who say they can play) have Reo-Coker banned for West Ham's game down to....yep you guessed it 5 yellow cards

I think those that are saying they'll play will have to eat their words

edit: looking back through the thread I see others have had the same idea as me. I guess the question becomes, is the left side (Giggs and Ronnie) too weak in defense? Maybe Heinze should play behind them instead of Evra? I love Evra but we will be explosive enough on that side.

vida and ginger are not suspended as the suspension is effective 7 days after the actual disciplinary initiative. so if my maths is correct this is only the forth day and therefor they should be available.

At least we have Ronaldo and Saha on the bench. Err, we'll need them!

A few too many changes for my liking but still not a bad team.
 
Not sure whats wrong with Neville, Rio and Giggs.

Aparently Vidic and Scholes's suspensions come against Reading.
 
Damn, it should still be enough but at least if we are struggling then Ronaldo can come on. Rooney needs to have a good one here anyway.

I think in the 4 games over Christmas everyone of our outfield XI will be rested, so Ronaldo was going to miss one game and this is the best one to do it imo.

Neville, Giggs, Rio, Rooney, Saha have all had to have the same and Vidic and Scholes' are forced.
 
No Giggs. Punished for the sloppy passes he made Saturday when we went 2:0 up?
 
Giggs will not play against Reading either I think. Fergie will never play him against both Reading and Newcastle, those two matches will be played in two days.
